Lame food, Tried a sampler. Gave it another shot and asked for their best dish. Was sorely disappointed both times. Wont be back… ever.

Only gets 3 stars because of the 2 sides I got. The slab I got was INSANELY good. I ordered pickup and the order was right and the lady double checked my order(very rare) as for the sides I’m a pepper fan. Big time but WOOOOW. The mac n cheese and the coleslaw were BEYOND overloaded with pepper. Beyond. Great place maybe a new guy was in the kitchen…

I went there on Guy Fieri’s review, very disappointed. The young man that took my order was very nice, unfortunately that was the best part of going there. I couldn’t even eat half of the ribs I ordered, it was so fatty I kept spitting it out. The Mac & cheese had a bread crumb topping that was horrible, my other side was mashed potatoes that was chunky & full of the skin from the potato. My advise is if someone wants the skin from a potato they can order a baked potato. Also my order was to go & they didn’t give me any cutlery or napkins. I hope they can learn from this because my server was very nice, they just need to get it together. Does Guy Fieri ever give a bad review? He needs to tell the truth

Let’s see, where to start? Got the fried«Mac n Cheese» bites, that just happened to be filled with boxed Mac n cheese, DEFINITELY not home made. And the baked beans, CANNED! Pork ribs were extremely over cooked, as was the beef brisket. The brisket looked like days old pot roast, completely grey in color and dry as a tube sock. No smoke rings, no moisture ATALL. It clearly won the BBQ championships FIFTEEN years ago because it wouldn’t win third place at the local retirement home with what they serve now. If you want consistently good BBQ, go to Dickeys.

The place was empty, ordered my food and it was faster than a fast food restaurant. That tells me the food is not fresh. It didn’t taste fresh either. I’ll give them they’re Mac n cheese. That was really good, but as far as the BBQ. not much excitement there.

Dined here after I saw it on Triple D and was really excited to try it! The only server working was busy which was fine because we didn’t have plans in the afternoon. I was especially excited for the turkey and it was okay. Not dry, but I somehow expected more. The same could be said of the brisket, pork and chicken as we tried everything. Plus, having worked in restaurants before, we were distracted by the years of dust caked to the many awards to really be concerned about much else. Worth it for a quick bite, but maybe not the hype.

Where do I even start on this place. First of all I’ve been to several BBQ joints around the valley so I do have experience in this arena as far as good BBQ goes. Like one reviewer said before, the cornbread tasted like sand. I had the pulled pork sandwich and the meat was absolutely inedible. For a second there is thought I was eating strung leather. Yes guy fiery has been here and all, but that doesn’t make up for the poor quality food I received. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Waste of money and you will be greatly disappointed

Boiled ribs, sweet cornbread(we call that johnnie cake in the south), fried pickles cut in spears and not slicesl Sweet tea created after tea boiled and sat and not added immediately upon boil completed. Not a «south of mason-dixon’ experience. Over priced, under delivered.

The food tasted like it was cooked over a fire made from burning tires. The ice cream was that cheap stuff that preschoolers get. The brownie was a Lil’ Debbie. I couldn’t eat more than two bites. How can a place like this stay in business? Update Check out this extremely rude message that I received from the restaurant in response to my review. It’s like this person not only doesn’t know what is being served in her own establishment, but she also doesn’t know what Unilocal is for. Can you imagine the response you’d get if you complained in person? I wouldn’t try it! «Sorry you didn’t like your food. Did you not know the meat is all smoked in a smoker? All our meats have a smoke flavor that’s the whole purpose of a bbq Restaurant. And so you know our Ice cream is Dryers, a very good quality ice cream. Our brownies are made in a bakery for us, also a very high quality bakery, well above a little Debbie. If you are not happy with a meal or a product you should inform the business you are at visiting instead of making statements that aren’t true.»

First time here after driving past it for over 11 yrs! They always say if the restaurant is kinda dirty and bathrooms are outdated and completely gross then the kitchen probably isn’t maintained that well etc. Their tea was like water, very dry buns, stale .won’t be back!

First time here. Service and food was good. My chicken was a bit dry but nothing more of their delicious BBQ sauce couldn’t resolve. We’ll certainly come back.

I have had mixed experiences eating at this establishment. Sometimes, the food and the service are exemplary. And sometimes, either one or the other is lacking. In this case, both were below their best effort. I had the beef brisket and the pulled pork dinner combo. And my wife had the beef brisket special. Normally, their meat is so tender that it just melts in your mouth. I am not sure what was going on today, but the meats we experienced were fairly rubbery in their texture. The flavor was excellent as always, but we were unimpressed with the meat’s digestibility. Additionally, portions of the beef brisket and the mashed potatoes were cold. There were several miscues on the service as well. It took awhile for one of the ladies to take our order, and the place wasn’t really that busy. And then later on, my wife ordered dessert, and they forgot that she had ordered it. We noticed it because it wasn’t on the check. it was quickly corrected, and I must say that it was delicious. We shared the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream on top, and it was superb. We will still continue to patronize this establishment as their food is still quite scrumptious, in spite of today’s experience. I hope that our future experiences produce much better than just satisfactory results.

It’s so very heartwarming to see family owned and operated restaurants that still exist today. Thee Pitts is one of these places. My family has been eating at Thee Pitts Again since the mid 90’s– long before they were at the Glendale location. From the appetizers to the desserts, you can just tell– and taste! That everything is made in house. Some highlights? The pork & slaw sandwich is absolutely my favorite! Pulled pork with some coleslaw right on top! It’s hard to pick the best appetizer– but the breaded pickles are soooo good! Made fresh when you order! Oh– and breaded cauliflower? Yes! So good! The ribs are melt in your mouth, fall off the bone! So good! We always get the potato salad– it’s like my grandmas! As for deserts, they have the best peach cobbler I’ve ever had! Always great service and we love the pig décor!

The corn bread tastes like sand. The pork on my ribs was about to jump out of my plate and start running that’s how under cooked it was. It almost made an oinking sound. The best part was not getting any napkins or forks or basically anything when I got it Togo. The beans were good… So are the ones I buy at my nearest grocery store. So sad can’t even believe these people sell cooked food. They should just become like a meat and deli spot. Cold uncooked meat. I hate suggesting places on my reviews but I suggest Famous Dave’s or the long drive to Bobby Q.

I’ve wanted to try this place for some time and finally had the chance. To be fair, I will note that we were here on a Wednesday around 3p.m. and we were essentially alone in the restaurant. Pros: Friendly, attentive staff. Clean, well lit establishment, although it is an old building and the restrooms could use a makeover. Fried zucchini appetizer was delicious, I always prefer battered over breaded. Cons: I ordered the combo plate, pulled pork and chicken and ribs. The chicken was terrible, it tasted like boiled chicken with some mediocre sauce, very dry. The pulled pork was tender and had decent flavor after I added a lot of extra bbq sauce, but it was still not impressive. The ribs were way over done, dry and lacked any flavor of their own. Everything my family ordered was lukewarm, no steam, no juice, barely above room temp. The coleslaw had a bad odor/taste and was inedible. The cornbread may have come from a box, minimum flavor and so dry even a healthy coating of honey butter couldn’t help it. Honestly, I have to believe that would have been better on a night when they are busy because nothing seamed fresh at all. If you want good fresh bbq, go a few miles down the road to Famous Dave’s, we will not return.

This review is another sorry case of: ‘Guy has steered me in the wrong direction’…yes, the episode highlighting some of ‘the best bbq’. Really Guy? Really? I can only imagine they made their award winning barbeque ONLY for YOU that day because much like the vast majority of negative reviews here, it certainly wasn’t an award winning experience the night I was here… In fact, Thee Pitts Again BBQ was quite literally, *THEPITS!* I will reiterate what other Unilocaler’s have already stated: cold-lukewarm food, chewy & overly sauced ribs, and sides? nothing to brag about. It just sucks when your visiting another State, are super excited to try some great BBQ that won multiple competitions, only to experience first hand, it wasn’t all that. #disappointed. And the fact that I dragged my sister’s here saying ‘This place is supposed to be great!!!’. Yes, I’m one of those people that is easily consumed by ‘food shows’. All kinds. Love to cook, love all kinds of food, and love to try new restaurants. So knowing I would be in Phoenix, I made a list of a few places to check out — mostly Guy’s suggestions…(was going through a Triple D addiction phase at the time). Trust me, I know better now, as I was slightly embarrassed recommending we come here in the first place. In fact after receiving our plates & digging in… I remember sitting in the green fake-leathered booth, my body slowing slithering downwards… avoiding the ‘rolling eyeballs’ from my sisters. Yes, I felt responsible for them having endured a poor judgment call on my part.(damn you Guy! I swear the next time I see you on T.V. I will SWING my fist through that screen and SLAP you silly, TUG on your platinum blonde highlighted spikes, and SNATCH your cheesy white shades… oh…and STEAL your HOT ride too…((I’d be stupid not too.)) How’s that Guy? I’ll show you! They ordered: combo dinner pick 2: beef brisket & pulled pork. Sides: mashers, corn on cob. I ordered: combo dinner pick 3: brisket, pulled pork & ribs(xtra $ for ribs, btw). Sides: mashers and mac & cheese. All dinners come with cornbread. Brisket was cold & on dry side, pulled pork was moist and pretty good. Ribs, NOT very tender, slathered in sauce which was ‘ok’, but again, meat was cold. Masher’s were decent(not the artificial ‘spuds’ kind), mac & cheese was not the greatest I’ve had, but not the worst. NOONEWASIMPRESSEDATALL. I will say the cornbread & pulled pork was pretty decent. BUT — doe’s anyone enjoy eating under warmed meat? Nope. Good thing I had a few beers… now those were tasty! I suppose we could have asked our nice waiter to send the food back, but we were already beyond that point. The place was pretty empty around 7ish on a weeknight. Interior is pretty colorful and has a fun vibe with a diner-looking exterior. Luckily, the prices here aren’t bad. So on the flipside, we didn’t gamble our money away. Hopefully for Glendale, these guys will either ‘get with the program’, or stick to BBQ competitions instead.

Where to start. I’m from the south and love and know good bbq, still this wasn’t the case here pulled pork had way to much fat, ribs still had membrane on it and to top it off food was bland very bland.50 bucks wasted. good note service was great.

The appetizers were tasty and not boxed frozen product which was nice. My fat kid was hopeful that the food would have been just tasty so imagine my disappointment when the food came out room temperature. I ordered the Combo dinner with pulled pork and pulled chicken. As my sides I chose coleslaw and mac and cheese. The coleslaw was almost warm and the flavor profile wasn’t anything to blow my skirt up. The mac and cheese tasted like Velveeta with some spices. It was barely warm. The chicken was very dry and crunchy as if it had been sitting around. The pulled pork was dry as well. All of it was room temperature. The place could use a good cleaning and dusting as well. I won’t be back though I will say I think they might just have a consistency issue. My husband’s good was warmer.
