Rarely do you go to a resale shop with a list and find what you need in one visit. My dishwasher silverware holder had developed several holes, so I snapped a picture of the set-up and headed to Stardust. Within 10 minutes, I had found the exact dishwasher rack and silverware holder I needed for $ 5.(I won’t tell you how much the Maytag supply store wanted for the same rack!) Their credit card machines were down that day, but had some cash so was in/out within 15 minutes.

This store is awesome ! Never know what you may find, a must for anybody on a budget . They also offer free deconstruction services, why trash good stuff when Stardust will pick it up for you and give you a tax deductible receipt? Open 7 days a week too.

NEW location! Stardust is a thrift store with one HUGE difference, it has ALL types of recycled building materials! They offer«gently used»(as they say) cabinetry, stone & tile, doors, windows, millwork & trim, light fixtures, architectural salvage, sinks & fixtures, plumbing, electrical, hardware, appliances, fencing, gates and furniture, all at 50−80% off retail. They rely on donations BUT also offer a FREE deconstruction service as green alternative to conventional demolition. How cool is this? I’ve walked around in a couple of these with local friends and the quality of the stuff they have is pretty good! Is there anything like this in the LA area? I doubt it because it seems like a lot of people can’t be bothered. You GO Stardust!
