I was very disappointed that when I purchased a pair of boots that were on sale 15% off the very next week, that the manager would not honor the discount. This will most likely impact my thoughts about trying to buying local and to keep store fronts in business in the future. I am all about customer service and retaining long time customers. Kind regards.

I’ve heard so many good things about Stan’s that I just had to try to find shoes here. I don’t enjoy shoe shopping, I see it as one of life’s evil necessities but I was optimistic that I would find something here. I will admit that’s easier said than done. I have wide forefeet and a narrow, narrow heel which make shoes a bit of a challenge. But I psyched myself up and gave Stan’s a try. What a disappointment! The sales person was on my like glue the minute I walked in. She did not want to let me browse on my own and I had to insist I wanted to look and would let her know if I wanted to try something on. Had I known how that was going to go I would have left before looking. But I found a few pairs that I wanted to try on and asked for my size. None of the shoes were available in 39W(european sizing) but the salesperson insisted that I try on 40M. Like most adults I know my shoe size. I’ve had these feet for a long time. I also had a job selling shoes in high school and I know the industry. The go-up-one-size-and-then-they’ll-fit does not work for people with foot issues such as mine, but the salesperson insisted. So I tried on pair after pair after pair with no success. But that was not the frustrating party, the worst was her insistence that the«shoe would stretch to fit my foot», «the foot bed would wear to contour my feet» and my favorite«well your heel should slip out of the back of your shoe when you walk». I don’t think so. Years and years of painstaking shoe buying have taught me that if the shoes are comfortable and well fitting in the store they won’t magically become better fitting by forcing my foot to endure pain and suffering to force conformity. At Stan’s I did learn a good lesson though of exactly what I do not want in a shoe, a salesperson, or a store. Zappos, here I come!

I can’t say enough about Stan’s. First of all, you will not find $ 20 shoes here but when you pay $ 20 for shoes, that’s what you get. Cheap shoes that will wear out quickly and may not fit. The shoes Stan’s sells are well-made and very worth it. Most shoes and boots I have purchased at Stan’s have lasted years and are fashionable and of course, fit perfectly. I don’t have foot problems beyond wider feet and a desire to be comfortable and have quality shoes. All my needs are met at Stan’s. Second, the service these folks give is beyond compare. Typically they bring out more than just the shoe that I have chosen, especially if they don’t have the size I want. Yes, it’s sales. They do want to sell the shoes but they aren’t pushy. They make sure my foot is measured and they sell shoes that will work for me. You can’t get that service at Zappo’s. Third, their community service is great too. I know they have serviced the Girls on the Run program, making sure each girl gets a pair of shoes that fits her so she can train and run correctly. They sell the shoes at cost to this organization but give the service for free. I can’t say enough about how that impressed me when I found out.

Stan’s isn’t cheap, let’s get that out of the way first. I have gotten old enough and have enough foot problems that I just can’t get shoes from Payless anymore. OK, so I get most of my shoes at Stan’s, usually Dansko’s, usually a no-brainer. But they have a good selection and the sales-people are good. But this weekend, they outdid themselves, in patience and ingenuity. Danielle, Matt, you complete me. I needed shoes for a trip where I’d be doing a lot of walking, and Danielle spent like 45 minutes with me. I ended up having to go but she was not irritated at the time spent. Returned 2 days later and hit on the right pair with Matt, then brought my daughter back and Danielle came through for her too. Yay, Stan’s!

I’ve had foot pain for years intermittently but it’s been getting worse and I finally figured out I needed more support in my shoes. I tried Dr. Scholl’s products to no avail. A friend at work recommended«Stan’s Bootery» and I am so glad I put my problems in the hands of professionals. My feet feel great, I’m so satisfied with the product I was sold. The sales person was quite informed and pleasant. I’ll definitely be back — local company, great products and service. I wish I’d found Stan’s long ago.

This rating has been changed because I found out that my problem was not with the store, it was just the pushy salesperson. Once Beth helped me out, I was sold. She really listened to me and paid attention to the price points I had laid out. She told me what she thought was ugly, brought suggestions and conversed with me the whole time. So my new verdict, go and ask for Beth! She rocks.

I am 30 years old and I already have been to the foot doctor due to my foot pain. I was told that the $ 30 shoes I bought at Kohls were«no good» and I need to get a shoe that supports my arches in addition the shoe needs to not be able to bend in half like the mainly mesh material Nike’s that I took into the Dr.‘s office. So, I was told to get a special line of New Balances. Living in the North Shore, I decided to try out Stan’s Fit for Your Feet and I am glad I did. The service was great and they actually fit YOUR foot. It really takes the guess work out of shoe buying. The staff was really helpful and friendly. Even my husband was trying on shoes(which is rare) because the staff was so accommodating. They had the shoes I was looking for and I also got a free pair of socks with this particular purchase! YES! They carry a lot of high end/high quality shoes and I could have spent hours there :-) I love how they are local and the family seems to be at the forefront of the business. They have a bin for collecting old shoes for the less privileged which I think is great. All in all, great experience and I will be back to purchase shoes here. Another great plus, it is NOT in the Bayshore Mall! So you can park easily and do not have to deal with all the crazies in that mall!
