Hello everyone this place is CLOSED. I was craving for the Vegie Sandwich which is my favorite there and when I passed by it it was dark and closed. I was soo dissapointed because it was a good place for sandwiches.

Great service, fancy place and I tried the gyros which was toasted in an oven the lady asked me if I like onions to be toasted which I said yes, I went there twice and 1st time the lady put little meat 2nd time it was perfect. I liked the food but it was kind of pricey. 6 dollers for a gyros sandwich with a drink it came out to 8 something. Over all for Gyros it was good gyros, I liked it.

Well to be honest this place is pretty bad. I am not here to judge their food because Ive only had their pastrami and it pretty much sucked, the bread was cooked pretty well but it was too thick, their pastrami was cold by the time I got it. Also for their price it makes it worse. Customer service on the other hand is very good the employees are friendly, respectful, and very nice.

It’s a Sunday afternoon cruising down Glenoaks after morning service and we notice a few fairly new places that have opened with this place being one of them. Our initial destination was Café Bravo which unfortunately is closed on Sundays. what a disappointment to pull-up, park, and notice the sign out front. I was even more annoyed at the fact that I should have at least called or checked the hours of operation on my celly. No worries, I noticed Best Fish Tacos that we had passed on the way to CB a few blocks away. I’ve had it before at the other location in LA so I knew it wouldn’t disappoint. We walk in and I see those two words«cash only» by the register. Great! I guess no fish tacos for me either since all I had was my debit card. Alright so the last resort was SF Subs since it’s conveniently located right next door. The menu looked a bit lacking and I knew I could probably get a better sub at subway. I decided to go with the only thing that stood out which was their gyros. For $ 6, I’d have to say the portion could have been larger. At least the employee was generous enough to hook it up with extra veg toppings and tzaziki sauce. The gyro was«alright», but I’ve definitely had better. When it comes to subs and gyros, this isn’t a spot I would return to.

Ok, so I read the reviews and figured that since more were good than bad and I had a hankering for a sub I’d give this place a try… So my girlfriend and I placed an order online on their website. I entered my credit card info and the works and was given a confirmation number. So far, so good! We walk into the store and let them know we placed our order online and was wondering if it was ready. The look of confusion on their faces told me that they hadn’t gotten it. So I let them know that it’s ok and we’ll order now, but I don’t want to be charged twice for one order and that they can charge the order that they get online. This is when things get messy… I was was told that I should have called and placed the order over the phone and that it was best to order that way. Funny thing is that while she’s telling me this, I’m standing right in front of a sign that says something to the extent of «…please visit our website at and order online…» Are you kidding me? The owner was called by one of the employees so that she could explain to me over the phone(yes, I was handed the phone and spoke with the owner because no one there knew about online ordering) the same thing and that ordering online is for delivery orders. This is completely understandable… But then why have a «pick-up» option? Anyway, so I’m a bit peeved about the situation and having the staff act like it was my mistake of ordering online, but whatever, I’m over it. So now time to pay. I’ll refer to «Jon’s» review below mine for this part. They are pretty shady, it’s true. I was«charged» one price online and then charged another at the store. I asked them about this and they said that cheese is extra, and pointed at the sign that says«your choice of cheese». If you look at the picture someone posted of the menu with submarines you can see on the top right it does say«your choice of cheese». On the other side it also says«your choice of bread». So is bread extra too??? I felt it implied that since you have a choice of cheese, it’s included. You know, kinda like bread!!! After their mix up with the online ordering, they didn’t even offer to charge the initial amount, try to make their wrong right, or ask if I would like a drink or anything. I just wanted to get out of there… The sandwiches were good, but as my girlfriend said, «nothing spectacular» nor worth returning for after this shady incident. I’m sticking with Mario’s or Frank’s in Montrose

The sandwiches are good but you have to order extra meat or else they do not put too much on(Think Subway)… I have been here numerous times and always felt like the prices at the register were higher than on the menu… My last time in I ordered a Center sub with 2 meats which goes for $ 6.50 plus tax($.63) = $ 7.13 My tab at the register came to $ 7.76 and I asked the owner why so much? She told me I was being charged an extra $.20 for pickles. I said«your charging me for pickles??? I pointed out that the extra charge was not $.20 but was the same amount as the tax $.63. She then played stupid and took the cash register receipt which I requested and was scrutinizing it… She returned only $.40 and I left it at that. Needless to say I will never return and I am writing a cautionary review so that others will be aware that this establishment may be charging unsuspecting customers double –the-tax…

This place isn’t far from where I work. I needed to eat lunch so I ventured over here to try out the Atomic Sub that everyone else here had. Overall, not bad. I agree with everyone that the bread is good. I was a little disappointed because the girl who was making my sandwich for the man ahead of me just piled on the meats for his sandwich, but when it came to making mine, there was a thin layer of everything. I’m not even sure I tasted the lean corned beef(must’ve been really lean) or even the secret sauce. I only saw her put mustard on my sandwich. They have combos here too: $ 6.50 for a gyro, chips and 16 oz drink, and $ 5.99 for mini(6″) single meat sub, chips, and drink.

Conveniently located only a few blocks from my office in Glendale, this is a go-to place for Friday lunches with the boy. Okay, so it looks like they repurposed some old Quiznos equipment, but I’m not going to hold that against them. Reduce, reuse, recycle — right? The sandwich sizes are a bit odd — mini, center, super. Center is a size? Really? Anyway, I’m not that much of a sandwich connoisseur, but I do know that the bread really makes or breaks the whole sandwich experience. The bread here has got that whole chewy but firm, crunchy but soft paradox going on that I just love. Perhaps it’s because the whole sandwich goes into a super-sized toaster oven for a few minutes before the lettuce and mayo go on. By the time it comes out it’s just toasty enough to give great subtle crunch without ripping up the inside of your mouth. Besides the usual side of chips, you can also get potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw, or even hummus. They’re okay, not phenomenal. They have a soup selection, but I’ve never indulged. Maybe when the weather cools off. Pretty good selection of bottled drinks in addition to the fountain stuff. Not much seating inside, but there’s plenty outside. And the people that own the place have been super nice each time I’ve visited. I’ll give ‘em an extra star just for that.

The girl and I have been here twice in the past few months and both times San Francisco Sub did not disappoint. Both times I’ve ordered their ‘Italian’ type sub, and both times it was consistently good. Not a place to miss if you’re in the area!

Super shady 5 star reviews down low, which tempted me to give them 4 instead of 5 stars. But honestly, their sandwiches are fantastic and well-priced.

My boyfriend imed me one day and told me he had just had the best sandwich of his life from this place. Naturally, I demanded that he take me there immediately(but not before I had conscientiously Unilocaled, of course). I had the corned beef and pastrami sandwich(the Atomic Sub) and it did NOT disappoint — it was fab. Although there are not many reviews for the Glendale location, you should definitely direct your Unilocal to endless milieu of raves for the SF mothership as mentioned below, which is how I decided on the Atomic Sub for my first sandwich. It was so amazing that I have yet to order a different sandwich, and I’ve been here at least 20 times since I’ve discovered it. The Atomic Sub is SOGOOD, a combination of pastrami, corned beef and turkey(except I always substitute the turkey with salami — highly recommended). Order it — you won’t regret it. p. s. James K — you are totally on point about the potentially shady 5 star reviews below. I will let these shenanigans slide only because the sub actually is, imo, worth 5 stars. But be warned, proprietors of SF Subs… we are onto you.

Made a custom sandwich with roast beef and smoked ham. The sandwich was pretty tasty, the staff was nice… well the lady who made our sandwich was anyway. The broccoli and potato soup tasted home made. No complaints though its not a Mario’s Combo either. BTW…dont those 5 star reviews below look kinda fishy?

I really enjoyed this place :) the sandwich maker was attentive and had no problem piling on the goodies! i had the smoked turkey sandwich(which is what i usually order as my own sort of litmus test for quality) and it was really good! the bread was crispy and flaky, yet chewy and soft, yet toasted all at once! the meat was, literally, piled on and, unlike, Subway(which i have avoided at all costs for almost three years), you can actually taste the meat! a word to the wise, don’t order more than you can eat, the leftover sandwich gets soggy after about an hour in the fridge :( but, heck, it’s so close to my house, i’ll just go get another one! SF Subs offers beef and lamb gyros, as well, although i didnt try one, others were eating them, and they looked good. the hot pastrami also looked pretty damn tasty, too. honestly, i like this place and the people who work there are really nice :) xo– andrea
