This is for their deli. I work in the complex and have at times eaten at Subway until I learned they knew about Jarod being a pedophile the whole time(my opinion, they should be run out of business). So! I really wanted a sandwich and decided to pop in to Safeway and give their deli a try. I got their Italian sandwich and… omg…YUM! Eating there again today. I’ve never had a sandwich so good! I will continue eating there and trying all the sandwiches!

Well the reason it is OK and that is it because checking out. The other night I was there and just had to pick up a couple of items and get out. I found out I wasn’t the only one who had that idea. When I went to check out there was about 30+ ready to check out but they only had two lines open. I get they are saving money here. Also there is a sign at the check out if there is more than 3 waiting to check out they will open more lanes… They finally did and I finally got check out. Another story… The line I was in the checker just took her time, but after I was done she started checking the next customer. Not a problem but she started to put her stuff into my stuff. Other than the slowest check out in town the store is very nice, clean and well stock so that is why it is just OK.

Absolutely horrible!!! I called their bakery on Monday with many days in advance, and asked whether they made a ¼ sheet Tres Leches cake for my son’s birthday party on Saturday. Jody said yes, and took my order over the phone. Today is Friday, I’m glad I made sure to just call the bakery again, and confirm the cake order to pickup for tomorrow at noon, and I was told they do NOT make Tres Leches!!! I was extremely upset as I have a planned surprise bday party for my 11 year-old son in less than 24 hours! Lady did not even apologize! I wonder if I just showed up tomorrow to supposedly pick up the cake, what would they tell me? No cake? This is absurd!!! Horrible service, just plain horrible!!! I will NEVER be back at this location again! Stay away.

Occasionally I shop here although not often. The produce is pretty good but equally priced. The standard groceries are typically prices higher than other stores. It never seems to crowded here so that’s a plus. After holiday/seasonal they offer great items at a steep discount. Staff here are friendly and helpful.

First things first don’t sell the sushi. The prices are identical to good sushi restaurants and the quality is half. Just had to get that out. I think it’s time that that store took better control of customer service I honestly know we spend a lot of dollars at this place per year in pharmacy and groceries. Customer service is only as good as your personnel.

This Safeway is so so so slow! They only ever have 1 – 2 checkers no matter when I go in. On top of that their credit card machine has frozen up for extended periods of time and they still won’t open a new check stand. They do have 50% off specials on things that are going bad and that is the only reason why I shop there. But several times the cashiers have forgotten to take this discount off, when I bring this too their attention they make you get back in the ridiculously long line instead of handling it right then and there. So then my 20 minute quick run into the store is now 45 minutes. It’s annoying.

I’ve been to this store several times over the past few years and I don’t know why I keep going back. Every time it’s a horrible experience. I am planning to learn my lesson this time. The meat there is a huge problem(lots of brown/gray, rancid-looking stuff sold at full price) but the worst thing is the cashier service. Despite the time of day, they only ever seem to have 1 register open. Which means that, to buy a single item in the AM, it’s a 20 minute wait at least. Today at 8AM the line for the single register was 10 people long. It took so long that the lady in front of me, who only wanted some orange juice, finally dropped out of line and left. I was still standing there 15 minutes later. Here’s the WORST part: The manager walked by the line 2 different times, looked right at it, and kept walking. He didn’t open a register himself to speed those commuters on their way. He didn’t ask the woman at customer service to come up and open one. He just saw the grumpy people in line and ignored it. This is why Safeway — especially this one — is failing. Manager Ben, you just lost Safeway 2 customers today — at least.

Loyalty program is crap. Takes over two months for you to be in the system, and they won’t let you use an employee card or whatever to get the discount in the meantime. Instead your choices are pay full price or fill out another application. Hey, I think I’ll just leave(and you can put away my cart full of groceries).

Safeway Supermarket on 67th& the 101 is now selling a very large selection of ORGAINCFOODS!!! I have been waiting and hoping that the local supermarkets would start selling more organic foods and now Safeway is. They have all kinds fresh organic produce & frozen. They also sell organic dairy products, dried fruit & nuts and more. Everything has been fresh so far. Be sure to look closely for everything. They have it all mixed in with the traditional foods — so it can be hard to locate. Some of it is in separate stands but not all of it. I really like that I can get organic cleaning products here. Their prices are Safeway prices and I can find cheaper products elsewhere, but certainly not closer. I hold back on 1 star because of their absurd policy of having the baggers inspect the carts(like we are criminals) during check out. Come on already! This place can be quite odd. They need to replace their management for sure.
