My sister called to order a graduation cake as soon as she told them the date the person answering the phone said«no we can’t» and hung up on her. That’s not very nice.

Rafi is very nice, really cares and his work is amazing. I did my wedding cake with him and it was awesome. However customer service is awful. I decided to order another cake for an occasion With Rafi. I gave him ample time and he told me 2 weeks was good. We agreed to a time, 11am Saturday pick up(I have the email). I arrived at 11 and the woman was lost as to why I was there. She said she has my order but there was no time on it … I asked her why didn’t she call me to confirm a time. She didn’t answer me and shrugged her shoulders. She said«sorry but there is no time written and it won’t be ready till 4pm». I was so livid at her and walked out. I had no cake for my party that day and went somewhere else. Customer service is important in any business. Rafi needs an assistant or better people to work for him. I will never go back …

Before you deal with Rafi keep one thing in mind. He’s a creative artsy person. You know the kind I’m talking about, they speak softly, work slowly and don’t seem to have a care in the world. This is not a bad thing unless you’re creating cakes for people who act like if a cake they ordered isn’t perfect, on time or they can’t eat a macaroon when their heart desires the world will end. Since I live in Orange County, I made an appointment to meet him at his store to discuss cake design and place the order. I was a little miffed that he was late & kept us waiting which made us late to every other appointment I had that day with other vendors, but you can’t rush artists! Although I told him I wanted the ashta flavor he talked me into making one of the layers another flavor in case people don’t like ashta. I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he sketched it out. I asked him if I could pay him for the cake, he shrugged & said I could pay him the day of. I told him I preferred to pay him upfront & asked for my total. He looked up at the ceiling & threw out a figure that I assumed was the deposit amount, but he was serious, that was the full amount! I agree with another reviewer that mentioned that if he kept charging the prices he used to charge he would have gone bankrupt. It sounds like someone has stepped in to manage the business side and leave him to the cake making/designing. On the day of my event they delivered my cake to Orange County which I really appreciated. When I saw the cake I couldn’t help myself. I laughed. He had made the exact cake he sketched, but unfortunately it wasn’t at all like the picture I had shown him. I don’t blame him for this because the guy probably sees hundreds of cakes day in and day out. How in the heck was he supposed to recall the picture I showed him? I should have given him the photo. The cake also had his signature sugar flowers which I specifically had said I didn’t want. Although the cake wasn’t what I requested, guest thought it was beautiful and delicious and the world didn’t end!

I wish I could give a 0 star for this bakery. Rafi’s sister is the biggest bitch on earth and unfortunately, the person you have to deal with when ordering. Rafi is wonderful and makes great cakes, but honestly, I will never go back after the encounters we had. They never respond on a timely basis, they deliver late every time, and are SORUDE. This bakery would be so successful if the sister knew anything about customer service or WRITING the orders down — they don’t know how to prioritize and have no idea what the hell they are doing.

Ordered a cake for my son’s first birthday. After going through the details 10 days prior, they called a day before the birthday and asked if i want soft or hard icing… I didn’t want to give them or myself a hard time and figured not to bother myself with something like this, although the business principles were undermined… I advised them to make it whichever way that will look/taste better… The cake was delivered to the venue and it was nothing special… I am trying to figure out what is the hype with this place? Don’t get your hopes up…
