I love island but the last time i visit with my family
I did not like the new bun they were serving on the Hawaiian burger, if they don change that i don’t think I gonna come back

I can’t tell if it was good or bad that I didn’t know the fries were bottomless… was it not on the menu? Seems like the kind of thing I’d have a sixth sense for…
The burgers aren’t bad; nothing great (wife had the Big Wave and I had the Kilauea). The fries were just okay, if they had been fresh they would’ve been really good but in order to keep such a large supply to be bottomless they probably premake a lot of it.
The cocktails are reasonably priced and large, but I’m not sure I got any buzz from the Big Island Iced Tea (which was delicious, but probably because it was low on alcohol). The beers, on the other hand, are a fantastic value at 8.40 for a LARGE (a liter), even the fancy IPAs. Good enough to share with two people.

After a long day of traveling about. Me and my father wanted to have a nice lunch in Glendale. We saw islands and thought it would be a good place to have lunch. Walking into islands you are greeted by friendly staff. The place is very festive and island like and full of nice decorations. The waitresses were very polite and got us seated very quickly. They had a good selection of craft beers. I ordered the kilauea burger.
The food:
–The kilauea burger; very tasty burger, get it medium rare, has a very nice peppercorn crust on it, very well cooked, underneath the meat there is lettuce, tomatoes, nice sauce. The bun was very warm and soft and lightly toasted which was very refreshing compared to other similar burgers I’ve had in the past. What was disappointing however was the small amount of fries that came with my order. The fries seemed not very well cooked. The fries also seemed a bit stale.

Great location of which is around the mall and other shops… It’s just the service are kinda slow and the sliders are salty…

I am a regular there been 1 year and a half. they have amazing Cobb salad and China coast salad. Their fries aren’t my favorite but they are good especially the free refill makes it worthy ;) get the one topped with cheese.
the burgers are flavorful and will fill you up!
Customer service there is A+ /​Excellent all the waitresses and waiters are good

I’m not a huge french fry lover but Islands fries are just to delicious to pass up! Not only that but they never end (endless fries) you can completely fill your self up with french fries from head to toe.
They have delicious burgers especially the ones with pineapple including the Hawaiian happy hour sliders. The tacos are good and their tortilla soup is awesome!
Happy hour food is great. not to much of a discount on drinks tho.

I got the veggie Hawaiian burger and it was really tasty with good teriyaki sauce and pineapple. I liked the veggie patty here, it is much better than Red Robbins veggie patty. Onion rings were also good!
Good burgers and good deals. I guess a should not rate a burger place based on their fish tacos haha.

Food was good. I’ve always liked Islands so that’s no surprise. I got the chicken sandwich with teriyaki sauce. I forgot what it was called but it’s amazing. The blended drinks are all to die for as well. If I was rating on food alone I’d give four stars but my server Holly was awesome so I’m bumping it up to five =) She was super cute and bubbly and my boyfriend and I enjoyed conversing with her. I’m sure some less secure girls may resent that in a waitress, but honestly I’m old enough to appreciate beautiful people who are friendly so I’d gladly visit again.

Bad service and cardboard tasting meat.

If you come here for the lunch specials it’s a solid 4 star for value and taste. If you miss the lunch special you’re better off at Granville down the street for the price you pay. Just sayin…

I’d never been to this location before, but I’ve visited other Islands restaurants. This time my friend and I spilt a salad and a hamburger, it was the perfect combination of healthy and less healthy. I recommend if you get the endless fries, and you can eat them until the end like I do, order another basket as soon as they bring your first order. The refills on fries can lag a bit. The staff was very upbeat and cheery.

My boyfriend and I love coming to Islands. It is a great place to go for lunch. It is located on Broadway in Glendale and is walking distance from The Americana on Brand.
When walking into Islands, you feel like you’re transported to Waikiki Beach. It is very tropical and has that island ambiance. I love how tropical everything is and the servers are normally in Hawaiian shirts.
We’ve been to this Islands location about 3 times and the first 2 times, the experience was great! Normally I would get the Quesadilla which is considered an appetizer but is super filing and my boyfriend loves the Tortilla soup. A basket of French Fries on the side and you’re set.
Sadly, this past time we went, I made the mistake of ordering the Veggie Burger. What a disappointment. It was so bland and just tasted like a frozen Boca Burger out of the frozen section at Ralph’s. I wish I liked it more but it was just terrible. I have had much better burgers elsewhere. My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Tacos. He enjoyed his meal but also thought that there could have been more flavor. We got Nachos as an appetizer and the chips were burnt, there were not enough beans on it the cheese was burnt too.
It hurts me to say such things because we do love Islands and our past experiences were great but this time, it was the opposite with the food. It was not worth the money spent.

I had a Malibu Burger with French fries. Great service, clean and everything is freshly made. I visit this place once a month since I am in love with their French fries. Definitely recommend it!

Good Islands location which has been at this same spot for as long as I can remember. The service has always just been ok. It’s dimly lit. Moreso than other Islands locations. Parking is either street (if youre lucky) or in the pay garage. Entrance is out front on Broadway or from the parking garage through the back of the restaurant… You cant go wrong with the burgers. Big wave with cheese and bacon or makaha. Good size and comes with endless Islands fries. Cheddar fries are also a must. It’s a great shared appetizer. The China Coast is a good Asian style chicken salad. The sliders appetizer that comes with Island Reds (onion strings) are good. It comes with 4 beef patty sliders with caramelized onions. Nice and tasty. Good bread. I’ve had it as a an entrée… Tortilla soup is really good. It can be ordered in a cup or in an endless bowl. Passion fruit or raspberry iced tea is a good drink accompaniment but I always go with the fruit punch. That’s what I call a meal. I’ve never had dessert as I’ve always been too full after the fries, burger and drink.

Wow, I have been eating here since the 90s. It’s gone downhill probably after 2012,13??? But this last time I ate here it was absolutely disgusting. Two different burgers and tiki tenders. This is so sad. It’s all different! And just so bad. One person couldn’t eat more than three bites. I hope this gets to corporate and they go back to their old ways.

Good food, good service :) we had a group of about 20 people and did not make a reservation at all so they were kind enough to accommodate for our large party at such a short notice! (We had just taken our final so we wanted to celebrate hehe). I ordered the Hula burger which has mushrooms, Swiss cheese, mayo, and tomatoes with fries on the side! It was also one of our classmates birthday so we told our server who provided a brownie with ice cream and candles. Ugh, I am just so happy with our server because we didn’t warn them at all but everything turned out perfectly!

Islands is a great burger place with a really fun atmosphere. When you first walk in you notice the Hawaiian decoration and it gives you the feeling of being on vacation and sitting on the beach with your family. Their TVs are playing incredible surfing videos and overall it is a fun environment. They also have tons of tiki decorations.
I was with a large party and we ordered some cheese fries, sweet potato fries and the spinach and artichoke dip to start. The cheese fries were good, the dip was well made and the sweet potato fries were excellent. The sweet potato fries were well seasoned and very hot and crisped to perfection.
I decided to order the special Hana Hou burger with, of course, sweet potato fries. The burger was pink and juicy and the pepper jack cheese, grilled onions, and lettuce all added additional flavor. I also went with the whole wheat bun which was tasty. I finished my meal really fast because it was so delicious.
The service was friendly and prompt. Overall this was a great experience and my burger was tasty and the prices are fairly reasonable. Definitely worth a try if you want a good burger.

Decided to come here on a Thursday night, we were seated quickly. Service wasn’t too bad, I think the waiter was in a bad mood because he wasn’t so «cheerful» but any time he would pass by our table he would ask if we’re doing alright and if we needed anything. No problems with the food, amazing as always!
Cheddar fries are always a must!!!
