As of October 2013, JL Handyman’s labor rates have doubled from what they were at the beginning of 2013. On the last 2 repairs of my home, they have lacked doing due diligence in first calling the owner or performing the necessary research to identify the most cost effective options to repairs. I was informed the day before repairs were performed the first time, resulting in excess labor charges. On the second repair, they required my approval, and am still awaiting their call to discuss the particulars regarding the repair. JL Handyman performs $ 150 maintenance inspections for Home Lovers Property Management, LLC. Unfortunately, this is the second time they have overlooked tenant-caused problems that result in significant, costly repairs that have to be rectified. On the first occurance, the tenants left the property, putting a significant financial burden on the owner vs. the tenant. I am grateful that JL Handyman wants to ensure that the property remains in marketable good standing, but they need to do a better job managing the owner expenses for repairs.
