I’ve been going to this place for many years already & I can’t emphasize enough how much I love it! Their chicken French bread sandwich is my absolute favorite with«pink sauce» can’t wait till they open up the studio city location right by my house! Amazing food & amazing service both Glendale and Hollywood locations, thank you!

I love a hot crispy falafel pita sandwich. Arax is Lebanese which means it’s authentic to the Middle East. They toast their sandwiches in a panini press which is fine with me because all the flavors meld together(but my falafel wasn’t toasted, I’ll ask them to next time.) Everything is made to order so there is a short wait and they do takeout also. Peel the wrapper down when you eat your sandwich(don’t unwrap it or you’ll be sorry!) It’s a great tasting sandwich at a low market price which is hard to find in LA(the same sandwich is at least $ 2 more at The Grove Farmers Market.) Good taste, good price, open kitchen, free parking lot. I’ll be back to try the shawarma sandwich next time. Eat up!

As a former fast food restaurant owner, I always look forward to have Falafel Arax sandwiches, especially the«Lebanese Style» falafel sandwich — my regular choice. Highly recommend this place. Also, the place is very clean, which is the most important thing for me.

Let me start off by saying that it is really hard to beat the original! The original spot in Hollywood is absolutely delicious, I don’t know if it’s the touch of the cook there or just different product. The Glendale location gets a 2 only because they have good sandwiches and customer service. You cannot go wrong with any of the sandwiches there because it is mostly covered up by flavors of garlic or tahini and such but the downside is the plates when the meat is served alone and the prices for what you get. I rarely complain about the cost but I paid about $ 13 for a plate and it was a lot less meat than any other plate I would get elsewhere. The meat was very dry and unflavorful and you have to mask it with all the side sauces that they provide for it to taste good. Those are the only things that I was upset about. Dry unflavorful meat and way too pricey

This place was my childhood favorite and I am so glad they opened a location near my work. As a child, I loved the shawarma pressed sandwich. I would recommend that for all the meat eater out there. I no longer eat meat and was pleasantly surprised to learn that there were a lot of vegetarian options marked with a green heart. I went in to place a to-go order for lunch. I was greeted by a friendly employee who took my order. I ordered the fattoush salad and lebni sandwich. My order was ready very quickly. They were both delicious but the stand out for me was fattoush salad. I highly recommend it. The location is easy to find, paring was a breeze, and the restaurant looked super clean. Bonus: they have a pickle station, sort of like a salsa bar. Genius!

Smallest little sandwich house. Love the falafel and tongue sandwich. Usually order the tongue without lemon & tomato because it can get soggy, but regardless it’s delicious either way. The owners are darling and super cool.

Did not enjoy the food here. Customer service is also non existent. Ordered the falafel sandwich, beef shawarma, extra garlic sauce & fries — to go. The food is pricey compared to other local establishments & smaller in quantity. The beef was dry, falafel was oily & the fries were nothing special. The only positives I can share are that there was plenty of parking & the place looks clean inside. I contemplated whether or not I should write this review since I don’t like to write or say anything negative. However, I think I’m entitled to my opinion. I mean I signed up to Unilocal to share my experience with others, so that’s what I’m doing!

I order the falafel sandwich it was so good I ordered two more to go. Definitely be back to this place and refer others. It’s very clean inside. Tried the pick pickles and they’re awesome! They gave me a sample of the hummus and was hooked, ordered a side of that as well! I’ll be back!

My friend and I were a little early to our nail appointment at Nancy’s and decided to get a small bite to eat here. First impression, the establishment seems very clean and well maintained, quiet and a tad bit cold(I’m always cold, so this doesn’t count lol). The girl that helped us, Siouneh(spelling?), was very sweet and answered all my questions about the menu. She recommended the Arax Combo Plate which has 3 of their main menu items: falafel, beef shawarma and chicken shawarma… it sounded enticing but I wanted something smaller since I needed to rush off to my nail appointment. I ended up with the Shawarma Beef Sandwich that has onions, tomato and tahini sauce. You have a choice of French bread or pita bread… I got it with pita which was perfect. This is a hot sandwich, not cold in case you were wondering. Also, this sandwich may not fill up a guy so keep that in mind. Personally, I don’t really like tahini sauce too much but I wanted to try it the way the restaurant served it and it wasn’t that bad. If you’re not a fan of tahini sauce then I suggest leaving it out. My friend got a small chicken salad(–__-). Not much to review on there besides the fact that she made me feel like a fat ass the whole time I was stuffing my face with the sandwich lol. I still love her though! All in all, the service is good, the food is good(nothing crazy special to rave about) and the place is clean. If I’m hungry again and in the area I may stop by to try a different sandwich.

What a disappointment– being a beirutsi and eating falafel sandwiches every Saturday in the old days… So delicious. However Falafel Arax Glendale. first and for most. Customer service zero. Believe me I’ve been in PR all my life. And the number rule for business success is customer service(smile, Be friendly, kind. To I need to say more?) I mean come on it’s a world wide policy. And 2nd. The sandwich cold and not so tasty, enjoyable and was coming all apart. Anywho I will not come here again and take myself to crazy falafel instead or even Zankou has better falafel.

Finally I don’t have to drive to Hollywood to eat at the original Arax. I can’t thank you guys enough for bring my favorite sandwich place to glendale. A must have at the glendale location is the french press beef sawarma. I took my kids there a couple times to see if they would like it and now they ask to eat there every weekend. This place has authentic lebanese street food. PS try the fatoush too.

Had an amazing lunch. This was only a half sandwich I had. 1 of 4 of the halls. Falafel, chicken shawarma, sajouk press, and beef shawarma. Could still eat. My trusted Audemars Piguet was present for the feast. Fresh, clean and crisp.

Love Falafel Arax, a Lebanese staple in Glendale, very authentic to the Lebanese taste and pallet, clean and organized, quality food, and i am very picky when it comes to food. Quick service and every single dish is on point with the seasoning and authenticity. Yummie I do not agree with some of the reviews for the following reason and I hope clarifying some of the Lebanese food history, will change your mind and your reviews. And this is just to acquaint allot of Americans about the traditional falafel, which has lost it’s authenticity in the US with all the chefs trying to play with the recipe and make it their own. First of all, in the history of FALAFEL, a sandwich has been toasted, never. But if anyone prefers it, I think they can ask for that and the staff will be much obliged to make it happen for you. But when you are serving authentic food, you must do it right, anything preferred by customers, must be their choice, not on the menu. Babaghanouj is the best I have tasted in any restaurant, it has the smoky taste of roasted eggplant and clean & smooth consistency of the mixed tahini sauce, this is one of the best ones I have eaten other than couple, again, authentic Lebanese restaurants in Los Angeles, allot of people have tried the«fake» taste of babaghanouj and they are used to that, but I do suggest asking for a trial sample, before ruling it out of your order. As for the Tabbouleh, first of all, the wheat bulgur used to the ratio, should be 1% of the parsley, tomatoes and onions, the tabbouleh sold in the US is pre-made, and by the time it hits the shelves, the wheat bulgur is swollen in the juices and looks like a ping pong ball. to say the least, the wheat bulgur here is added last minute, to order, and must still have that crunch and should not be the star of the dish, tabbouleh is parsley salad with tomatoes and onions, very little bulgur. North African cities use bulgur allot, as they are used to the instant couscous taste and use it as a substitute, even some American chefs do that mistake. some even put cucumber and lettuce, that is not the right way to eat. And Falafel Arax follows authenticity not a made up recipe. The Fattoush is made to the«general taste’ of the guests, if you like more dressing, you can ask for it. The pink sauce, hmmm, this is the only place that the«PINKSAUCE» is served, and never has been served in the US before, this recipe is the Chef’s own and no one knows how it should be, it is supposed to have the mayo and garlic taste, that is the whole point of using it in the sandwiches. Most fast food restaurants use frozen, to order, french fries, and Falafel Arax is not an exception, except for the quality, they use the best one. Now the most important HUMMOS. I cannot see one more recipe on the internet, in the restaurants, and on the internet, playing with the REAL hummos recipe, which is basically chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini sauce, salt & pepper, Extra virgin olive oil, some use garlic, but garlic is not in the original recipe. I am not sure when people say Hummos is Ok, or not good, I’d like to ask them, which hummos they are comparing it to? the one sold in the supermarket? or the one out of the can(which is not bad if you choose the Lebanese brands) but this is made from scratch every day, fresh and authentic. Please check the history of Hummos. Also this message is for Mike A and V-JAY-T, there is no place in the US that don’t get the order wrong, sometimes the kitchen is busy and overwhelmed and it happens, this does not mean that you cannot try them again and see if the service is better, especially when it is a new place, with employees being trained. I am sure we all do mistakes and we have been given a second chance to do better. And I am sure, if you have to go back and complain, they will make sure you are 110% satisfied, so before you write a review, give them another chance. Look at Chipotle…

The falafel sandwich is a simple sandwich of the tasty falafel puffs, the veggies and some tahini sauce Etc. The falafel itself is very good. Sadly, they don’t toast the bread or sandwich. You get a room temp/cool pita wrapping the falafel. Really? A falafel sandwich is 10x better when the bread is nice and warm, and even better slightly toasted. Some places have the lafa bread that is right out of the oven, and its great! At least toast the pita. The babaganoush is not good. Don’t bother ordering. You will like this place better without it. Humus is ok. The tabooleh salad didn’t have a bunch of wheat added as some places do, but to displace the chopped parsley, they added lots of onions. Also the tomatoes were just coloring, although it’s not tomato season, I can ignore it. This can improve. The fatoosh is good, better than the tabooleh. They use the fried pita chips and good greens and ok seasoning. Could be more flavorful with added sumac and better tang dressing, but what can you do. The pink sauce is tasty, but you can taste the mayo. The garlic sauce is good. The sesame tahini sauce is very good. The sauces really helped the overall rating. But, they should not be the ultimate mask of good food. The French fries are not fresh. It might be ok that they are frozen and they are at best, just OK if you have to have fries. I wouldn’t bother ordering. Service is excellent and accommodating. The place is new and things look new and nice. It’s a quick café style décor with a nicer touch than many places. I would recommend having the falafel or the pressed chicken sandwich, a signature item. The name of the place is FALAFEL Arax. That is their claim to fame, and they taste very good. They just need help with what it is surrounded with.(noted above) Overall there are a number of places I could recommend for falafel. But if close. The falafel puffs(falafel balls just doesn’t sound right) do have a distinct taste that holds its own. Unfortunately that is not the only thing involved in a meal. There is supposed to be another original location in Hollywood. Will give that a shot next, as I am on my quest for my favorite falafel shop. Read my reviews for other spots on these tasty sandwiches. Its a sad thing when people take off points for parking and no seating. I hope the majority of folks don’t use those against the rating of these establishments. those things should be mentioned, but not penalized for.

First time dining at this location and I must say it was really nice dining inside. Restaurant has much more room everything is nice and new. Been going to the Hollywood location for over 25 years and sometimes I can be stubborn and loyal so I don’t like to give other locations that chance. Heard a lot of good things about this place in Glendale so I decided to stop by got my usual falafel plate and I was just as satisfied as to the original location. The layout on the plate is a little different but the taste of the falafel balls and the tahini sauce was perfect. There sharwarma is not my favorite but the french bread toasted is good thing. Parking is plenty and free. Food service is prompt so if your grumpy and hungry you will get your grub fast. Prices are very fair my plate of falafel with a soft drink was $ 10. Hands down still a favorite for my falafel fix!

If you’re in Glendeloum and would love to have a delicious fast bite or a delicious but not-so-fast sit down hot dish, then Falafel Arax is THE place to go. This recently opened franchise is clean, fresh and delishshshsh. Besides their traditional falafel sandwich, the new Lebanese style hot pressed chicken shawarma sandwiches on crispy flattened French rolls are exquisite Don’t forget to try their Soujoukh sandwiches too. Last but not least, ask for their special«pink sauce» that makes every bite yummier than the one you just swallowed! O Sahteiiiin !

I have been frequenting their Hollywood location for the last 15 years, when I learned that they opened a new location here in Glendale, I had to come by This establishment has always been consistent with their food, even at the new location. The traditional French press rotisserie chicken sandwich is one of the best items on their menu, in my opinion. Be warned, if you’re not a fan of garlic, I would instead have their Shawerma sandwiches. Must try for all!

I love Mediterranean food. LOVEIT. So after shopping one day at Americano, we were on the hunt for some authentic home cooked Med food… boy did I find it here! Everything was so delicious. Definitely fast, but not«fast food». They take their time custom making your meal to your liking and are super friendly. I sampled my boyfriends falafel plate, everything was so flavorful!!! I opted for the French Press Sandwiches, garlicy chicken! ummm need I repeat! GARLICYCHICKEN! I love garlic and sandwiches, and they did this combo right. All and all, I say head over there ASAP if you’re in the area… and if you’re not, this is the perfect excuse to head to Glendale. 5 stars all around!

Ive been going to their Hollywood location for a while now. So when i heard they were coming to Glendale, i knew i had to go! The Glendale location is much bigger with plenty of parking space. They also have an indoor sitting area which is a nice additive. My husband loves their soujouk/beef shawarma sandwich. I usually order the chicken plate or chicken shawarma. Ive had the sandwiches both on pita and french press. French press is better. Prices are reasonable The garlic mayo is a little heavy but good Mutabbal was excellent Falafels are moist Service is excellent Menu is simple The side pickled turnips are limited at this location. The hollywood location would give a small plate full. At this location expect some in a little plastic container. Im craving their sandwiches as I’m writing this. Mmmmmm! See you soon.

Absolutely delicious everything ! Tastes homemade, great service, and a very cool looking spot. It’s a fresh take on the already popular location in Hollywood! They’ve revamped a few of the cuisines and added new ones, while staying true to the original spirit that is Falafel Arax. Thank goodness for this quality of Mediterranean food in Glendale. I had heard the buzz around town just a few days after opening. Highly recommended!!!
