Had a wonderful, tasty lunch. The food was very fresh and high quality. Tons of menu options. Staff was helpful and courteous. Loved our lunch. Dr. Dawg is Da Bomb. Dawg gone good!

I would say this place is pretty good, but not great. The fires are great, but they got my order wrong once and cheese sauce is plain disgusting. The Italian beef seemed a little bland and I’ve had much better. Seems a little too pricey for what you get. I will stick withe The Dogg Haus and Potbelly’s.

Great freshly made burgers and hot dogs. When you ask for how well you want your burger cooked, it comes out the way you want it. Only suggestion I have is they need to put another line of copy under their Dr Dawg signage that states, ‘Burgers and Dogs’. Many people have the perception that Dr Dawg is a doctor’s office.

Fair priced and while service was speedily made, I could ha e finished my food before my friend got theirs. The staff was friendly and corrected the issue. Their chili dog is delicious as are their seasoned fries

We love the Dawg and eat there at least once a month. I usually get the Italian beef which is fabulous, but this last time a tried a hamburger and it was AMAZING! I got it without a bun and it was beautifully presented and so tasty — I can’t wait to come back for another :)

I don’t do as much« Unilocaling» anymore because I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease two years ago so my dining out options are more limited now. The GOOD news is, my diagnosis has not kept me away from Dr. Dawg! They have GF buns for everything! Including the Italian Beef, hamburgers and hot dogs. They have a designated fryer for the fries and the cheese sauce does not have a roux so it is also gluten free! Most places I liked to eat out I had to give up after my diagnosis. This place just became more of a favorite.

I was surprised to find out they have more than hot dogs. Their burgers are the best around. Going to try the chicken next.

So I had been to the one in Greenfield and knew I had to come here after passing by it too many times. The gf and I both got the Dr Dawg this time, after having both gotten the chicken sandwich at the other location and really enjoying it. The Dr Dawg definitely did not disappoint. Never had we ever had a hot dog with fries on it but what a combo! Had everything I wanted and like on a hot dog. Fries, mustard, onions, relish. The perfect assortment. Fries were great also. Terrific food overall. Will definitely frequent this place as I will be living only minutes away.

I’m a Chicago native and self proclaimed Chicago food expert. This is the closet I’ve found in the MKE area to real Chicago fast food. So why only 2 stars? Their prices are out of control $ 4 for just a hot dog $ 6 for a small beef sandwich. I’m better off waiting until my next trip down to the Windy City.

Pretty good place. Only have been there once but they have a variety of sandwiches and hot dogs. They dont ever seem too busy so easily can walk up and get your food right away.

Great burger and clean establishment! Burger was a lot better than I had expected when looking for a place to eat lunch while driving through Milwaukee. I’ll definitely be back!

We stopped in last Friday night for dinner as first time customers. The first time will also be the last. My boyfriend ordered a double burger with bacon and asked that it be cooked medium well. He took one bite and found the burger was bloody and raw. It was so red on the edges, that he cut it in half to check out how the middle looked; as we suspected, the burger was completely uncooked(yes, RAW) in the center. I ordered the Italian Beef. I don’t think I’ve ever had an Italian Beef that was this bland and tasteless. Nothing more to say about it. It just wasn’t good. The highly touted Rosemary & Garlic fries were also bland and stale. Not crispy and fresh at all. The only saving grace was the fact that they had Green River soda. After spending $ 36 on two sandwiches, fries and two sodas, we left feeling completely ripped off.

Customer Service: The service is always really good. Sometimes they’re a little on the slower side but everyone is exceedingly friendly & courteous. Really can’t ask for much more. Hot Dogs: The hot dogs overall are pretty good. I’d say the plain old dog with grilled onions & mustard is my favorite choice. The Chicago and Chili/Chili Cheese are pretty good. The one Kobe dog I had was very flavorful but a bit overcooked — dry. The Cheese Dog is just kinda blah… Garlic-Rosemary Fries The much talked about garlic-rosemary fries were just alright. For the price, they really aren’t anything special. I guess they’d be worth a try but again, a bit expensive for what you get. The Italian Beef: This is my biggest disappointment. I keep ordering it hoping it will improve but it’s overall lacking in flavor. I can’t speak to the desserts or the hamburgers but both look pretty tasty. After all of this, I do like Dr. Dawg. My advice would be to follow the old familiar axiom of «Keep it simple, stupid.» Stick to the basics on their menu and I think you’ll be happy.

Comfort food does not always have to be synonymous with unhealthy. Dr. Dawg modernizes the traditional model by offering most items free of trans fats and preservatives. Enjoy your Kobe beef, chicken or vegan sausage Chicago style and add on an order of their premium, house-made, Idaho potato fries with garlic and rosemary. Gluten free buns, and even cookies, are available to make sure everyone is comfortable. Dr. Dawg also offers burgers, tamales, and even chili. With two convenient locations in the Milwaukee area, what are you waiting for?

I thought it was a veterinary clinic when the sign first went up! Restaurants usually have more windows. Instead, it’s my favorite burger place in the North Shore area. The chili dogs are tasty too. Get a free beer on Wednesday nights with the purchase of any sandwich & fries. The staff is always friendly & fast. The restaurant always appears to be clean & well organized. Delicious hand cut garlic rosemary French fries. Although, they could use a few more minutes in the fryer. Don’t bother with the outdoor patio, the freeway noise can grow exasperating. If you prefer to dine alfresco, take the short 2 minute drive over to Doctors Park along Lake Michigan. The water noise is much more pleasant.

Not the best Chicago Style dog I’ve ever had(I love the one at a little hole in the wall in Woodstock, Illinois) but since I’m a long way from Woodstock, Dr. Dawg will be fine here in the Milwaukee area. My companion reports that the Italian beef was superb! On top of it all, our server was a hoot! This will be my go to place, even though I’m a little miffed by a tapestry of downtown Chicago that is part of the décor. Note to Dr. Dawg franchisor(with tongue planted firmly in cheek) this is the Milwaukee area, not Chicago. We don’t care about Bears and Cubs wearing White Sox. You might think about having your weaver make a Milwaukee skyline tapestry to appease your Cheesehead customers. :p~

Very friendly people behind the counter were chatting us up and making suggestions that were super helpful! This is a nice place to stop for a casual chomp fest and some less-than-healthy options. I really like the Slaw dawg with mustard and onions. We got the chili cheese fries to go with our food, and they hit the spot.(Messy, greasy — yum!) Definitely not a fancy spot, and maybe in need of a few more scheduled wipe-downs of their tables, but I’d totally go back.

I stopped in for lunch at one and was jonesing for a Chicago dog. The menu is clearly laid out and the options are plentiful. The only thing not mentioned on the menu is their lunch special, which comes with a drink and fries. I got that. The workers were friendly, and when I asked if they home-make their slaw, the cashier went and got me a sample. I hate creamy slaws and prefer vinegar — this slaw was spot on. Had I not been set on a Chicago dog I would have probably gone with the slawdawg. The hotdogs were delivered to our table in under 5 minutes. The fries were hot and fresh and wonderful. Needed some salt — but that’s easy enough for me to do. In terms of the dog… the toppings and bun were better than the meat itself. It wasn’t as hot as it should have been and that really made it less of a POW experience for me. I love hot dogs and it’s close enough to work, so I will undoubtedly be back.
