This review is long overdue. If i could give no stars i would. This bakery completely ruined my 30th birthday party. I shopped around for what i wanted like it was my wedding or something because i was having a big 30th birthday party & wanted the perfect dessert bar. I settled on arts because they could do what i wanted & we had a cake tasting & everything was great. I received a good deal for all 3 dessert i choose including my fondue cake(which was most important & my first time every getting one) and everything was color scheme together nicely. I pay close attention to detail and go over everything twice to make sure. Like i said i had probably been to 7 other places. Here is where things get horrible. I go to pick up my desserts & cake the day of my party & first thing is my cake color is completely off. I asked for a Tiffany box & that is a specific blue. They tired to fix it by adding color but it just wasn’t right so i just took all my desserts paid & left because they were putting me behind schedule. Here come the worst part, after singing hbd my cake cutter is cutting everyone slices, next thing i hear is people spitting up & yelling to each other don’t eat the cake! I’m like what is going on my friend runs to me and tells me that there is a big brick of styrofoam in the cake & everyone was eating it. Omg i couldn’t believe it. I was modified. Not one person from arts bad service bakery told me they had to use Styrofoam to make my cake & i needed to take off the box top before eating. Not one person even mentioned it. Being the perfectionist i am i would of definitely remembered that because i am a germaphobe & don’t even like mixing things i eat with anything not edible. On top of that my cupcakes i ordered where extremely dry & nasty i saw soo many in the garbage. These are not what i taste tested when i was there. I tired to continue having fun because i spent so much money on my party but what a downer, it completely ruined my party. I called & emailed arts bad service bakery the next day to complain & ask for some of money back because more than half my cake was left because no one wanted to eat it anymore i showed them pictures and everything. Horrible horrible customer service they could care less & blamed everything on me. Saying they told me about the styrofoam and having an excuse for everything. Anybody would remember if you told them something not edible was being put into a cake that people would be eating. You did not tell me!!! I had over 5 conversation with the cake director & other employees. Shame on you for your bad customer service ruining a big event i spent lots of money on. Maybe if i was Armenian i would of received a+ service because you guys are good to your own but not others. I will never go here again & i recommend you be careful if your planning a big event don’t let them ruin yours like the did mine!

Hands down the best nazook I’ve ever had. Well worth the delivery fee to surprise the ladies at work today. Thank you!

Everything is delicious here. I ordered a birthday cake online and it was delivered on time. The reason why i don’t give 5 stars because the«Happy Birthday» on the cake was written on the paper using sharpie. I was a bit disappointed since it’s a beautiful cake but looked cheap because of that.

I came here on a Sunday afternoon around 3 pm and it was sort of busy. What I did not know was that they go by ticket numbers(like the tickets you get in the fish/meat section at the grocery store). So definitely when you enter, take a number from the red ticket dispenser on the left and then wait your turn, an employee will call your number when it’s your turn. This bakery has a lot of baked goods, from cheese rolls to doggie themed cakes to frozen empanadas to square pies. The cheese rolls are $ 1, a little more expense than Porto’s cheese rolls but they pretty much taste the same. Overall, a small, great, and popular bakery! You can street park or park in their parking lot.

This place is amazing! Not only are their pastries delicious, but they also aren’t too expensive! I managed to save some leftover goodies for tomorrow, and I’ll definitely be ordering again and again!

My dad asked for warm bread and he got a cold one. I wanted my ponchicks to be warm and I asked the lady if they would be and she said yes. 2 min later I got back cold ones ! Did not like them at all

Order a cake on phone, next day the call and ask if I wanted the cake and I said yes, then three times they ask if I was going to pay and if for sure I will come and buy cake. It’s like they didn’t trust me just because person who took order forgot to ask for my credit card. Then I arrive and said I’m here to pick up cake. They said you have invoice, no, I only gave my name Robert, then she looks at me as if she had no clue, she went back and came back with cake with the invoice attach with my name on it. Cake did not have happy birthday on it which is what I asked for

If you are looking for the best Nazook., this is the place. Their nazook is delicious… the center is sweet, buttery and softy. I have tried nazook from other bakeries but nothing compares to Art’s.

This place is near to my house so I always go here. They have a lot different and pretty designs for the cakes;however, some of the cake’s flavor is not that good, and some it’s not that sweet that you can’t even taste the frosting or the cream. Also, some are dry but they have the mini cakes and pastries which are my favorites.

Ok the baked goods were pretty tasty! I got the chocolate éclair filled with custard, the raspberry tart and the rafeallo(coconut ball). All were really good– my favorite was the chocolate éclair. The raspberry tart tasted very fresh. The rafeallo was very sweet, I couldn’t finish it. The girl who took my order did seem a little impatient and looked like she just wanted to get it done with. Probably a long day for her, but I would definitely go back.

I have known Art’s Bakery when they had just opened up, and I — back then — was just visiting my grandparents in the United States. Every morning, my grandfather would have me go and buy a fresh Armenian bread(Matnakash) for a dollar. It was like a little hole-in-the-wall, but the sweet, sweet fragrance of the bakery would fill Chevy Chase Dr up and down for at least a couple of blocks. Every time I’d visit, my mom and I would make sure to stop by for their great bread and successively pastries, too. Then my grandparents passed away and visiting the United States became a rare occasion. Fast forward 10, 20 years later: I am finally living in the United States, but nowhere near Art’s. I just happened to be in the area a couple of weeks ago and asked my mom to buy a couple of little things, to get a little nostalgic… …and Art did not disappoint! I felt just like the little kid again at my grandparents’ house. Of course, my mom went overboard with the little souvenir and bought four big bags full of stuff when I went to pick her up. All I can say is: DELICIOUSNESS! I’ll start from bottom to top: — Pirashkis: I was more partial to the potato-filled ones than the meat-filled ones, as the latter somehow had a strange aftertaste. The potato-filled ones, however, were excellent! — Gata: soft, flaky outside, the edges having a tiny little bit of a crunch, and the filling(Khoreez) perfectly balanced in sweetness, being very nice and powdery-flaky(I am saying this because my wife prefers the crunchy filling moreso, but I was perfectly happy with this). — Napoleon: wow. Just wow. Always have been. And by the taste of these, always will be. However, a tipp: make sure you eat them the same day, I am picky with«leftovers». — Armenian bread(Matnakash): straight from the homeland, super soft, super tasty, and I could still eat a whole one with a jar of Nutella… — Nazook: UNBELIEVABLE! It is surreal how good they are. If you’re looking for perfect Nazooks, stop wasting your time, go to Art’s. I am shoving one of the last three in my mouth as I am writing this. And last, but not least… — Lahmajoun(Armenian Pizza): the REALSTUFF! Much better than Lahmajoun Factory(and theirs are already killer-good!), perfectly balanced in taste, spices, softness of the bread. a dream! Needless to say that I would have gained a billion pounds anyways, had my mom not gone and bought everything in excessive bulk — this way I gained a zillion pounds. Thanks Mom, thanks Art’s bakery — my gym membership will surely pay off in the near future, haha!

Unassuming storefront had me wondering why i had bookmarked Art’s again while I was in the area last week. Walking in I knew why, rows and rows of beautiful looking desserts priced right to stock up! No $ 6 pastries here that make you feel not only guilty about the sugar content but also the price, most items are priced around $ 2. I saw a ton of people coming in who had preordered bread, so of course I had to get a loaf to see what they were carrying them out by the armload. Very tasty, fresh, perfect and again CHEAP at $ 2 for a huge loaf. A rafaello cake for my son, a nutella cheesecake for myself as well as an caramel almond pastry, everything was perfect! Soft, fresh, sweet and just plain tasty, the service was just as sweet and patient, well worth the stop when I am in the area again! Also they have a small parking lot right out front which made parking easy.

Amazing quality, unmeasurable taste and excellent service. The staff helped design a cake that I had visualized but had no picture of. It was gorgeous and it tasted amazing. We also ordered several pastries for our guests and each one of them was fresh and delicious. Best bakery, love all their stuff!

Still loving Art’s Bakery nazook! Prices have gone up to $ 7.99/lb. They also have a Nutella version which is delicious too! After months of only getting nazook, we finally bought shoti puri, a traditional Georgian bread shaped like a canoe. It’s quite a large loaf and inexpensive($ 2.25). The bread came out warm so naturally before we got to the car, I tore off a piece to try. It was light, chewy, and tasty! I see why there’s a dedicated bread line. Service has consistently been friendly. The ladies working there are nice and helpful. Art’s Bakery is just a great neighborhood bakery!
