Ariada Salon & Spa

In response to Tonya of Ariada Salon:
I’m not sure why beginning my Unilocal review with a little background info regarding the last time I had visited the salon «threw you a little». It’s very confusing to me why positive comments made about a former hairstylist would be off-​putting. Any bad blood between the salon and the stylist shouldn’t hold any relevance in the case of a happy customer.
Anyway, it ultimately does not matter how many times a stylist chooses to visit the OPI headquarters if the service administered is subpar. I’m sure it was a cool experience to make that trip, however this does not change the fact that an OPI gel manicure should never last a pitiful 5 days before severely chipping. Fortunately in this case I had purchased a Groupon, but had I paid full price I would have been far more upset at the longevity of this manicure. I have not returned, nor do I plan on doing so.

I found Ariada Salon and Spa on groupon and decided to give it a try because of all of the positive feedback! I purchased the gelicure and Elicia was my manicurist. She was very friendly and I love that she made an effort to have a conversation with me unlike at many other nail salons. I also really liked how meticulous she was! She took her time and my nails came out pretty much perfect. Unfortunately, I got nicked a couple of times, but she was very apologetic! Normally a gelicure is $ 30, but I got an offer on groupon for $ 12! Such a good deal! I also really liked the machine she used because it was LED lights instead of UV. The only thing I wish Ariada Spa and Salon included is lotion/​a hand massage at the end. A lot of other salons include this and it makes the experience feel complete! Overall, I recommend this place.
UPDATE: On the second day the polish on my thumb nail chipped, but it’s day 20 and the rest of my nails are almost perfect other than it growing out and a couple of small chips! I will definitely be coming back!

Had a facial and waxing from Veronica it was soooo relaxing I can’t wait until my next appointment. She very knowledgeable about skin care and helped me pick out some take home products.
I also had a gel manicure and a blowout no need to go anywhere else. Everyone here is the master of their trades I think next I’ll try the spay tan. This place is a dream come true. Five stars all the way!

I had a coupon from Groupon and just called today to check in. I’ve spoken with Tanya and I loved it because she was so helpful and loving on phone and told me: «I’ll put you with Theresa, she is nice inside and outside». I like when people are nice and I checked in, I have to tell you that Theresa is really nice inside and outside! And I love how she is dedicated and professional on what she is doing. I wish them all luck!
Hopefully I can keep the gel for a long time. ;)

P. S. Tonya has a great heart, she tries to educate her customers about the environment and animals, I had some information about what is happening to bats and that they are very close to extinct if we don’t do anything for them. Good job Tonya!

I’m in love with this place. If you haven’t stopped by you are absolutely missing out. I don’t normally get salon services cause I’m so particular about my hair. I went to get a Brazilian Blowout cause I’ve heard great things about the service.
First of all, they booked an appointment for me late on a Sunday cause they knew I was looking forward to getting it done soon. I couldn’t be happier with my results! It’s crazy that my hair is absolutely frizz free and dries straight. I can shower and leave the house with wet hair and it’ll dry looking like I just came out of the salon.
Elicia is a pro with hair, you can tell how experienced she is right away, she asks questions and listens and was so gentle with my hair. I loved my experience so much I brought my mom to the salon to get the same service with her!
Tonya, the owner, truly makes the salon feel like home and Veronica the esthetician is also amazing. My cousin sees her every week for a stubborn skin condition on his arms. He saw results within the first visit and is loving it.
I can’t say enough good things about this salon. I’ll be back soon and I definitely recommend going to my loved ones.

Blaire did my gel manicure. She was very professional, fast and fun! She made time go by super fast and has really great conversation. If you don’t or would rather not have the chit chat, then don’t talk or pretend to sleep. I personally love talking and really enjoyed our conversation. She even told me what she was doing and why at each step of the way. Informative nail session I would say. Oh yeah! She also does a good job. Take a look! :)

I just had a magical gel mani done by Elicia and I’m so happy I found her and this place. I had a great experience here from start to finish. The woman who booked my appointment was friendly and got me an appointment with short notice. I took a chance with a Groupon since this salon is so close to me — and I’m so glad I did.
I was about ten minutes late for my appointment and Elicia was still able to accommodate me (which I really appreciate because I know it sucks when people are late for scheduled appointments). I picked out a fun summer OPI pink and Elicia did a wonderful job w the mani, taking care to achieve the shape I requested (pointy but more almondy than cat-​claw) and she nailed it. (see what I did there?!) We had great conversation and I am looking forward to going back. A regular gel mani is reasonably priced at $ 30. (Gel removal is $ 5 but if you did the gel there, they will remove it for free).
Before leaving, after finding out Elicia also does hair, I inquired about specialty color which I’ve been wanting to do. (And I’ve been looking for a new hair place after my mortifying hair-​dye experience earlier this year — documented in the longest review I ever wrote… but I digress.). Elicia sat down with me and gave me a consultation letting me know what is available.
I’m looking forward to getting my hair done here in the future. Their hair rates are also reasonable and Elicia is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. That’s the combo I want for my beauty time!!!
UPDATE ⁸⁄₂: One week later and it looks like I JUST got my nails done. No chips, breaks or anything else. AMAZING!!!

Unfortunately, I didn’t have the best experience here.
I bought a groupon deal for a manicure. Since I work in Downtown LA and this location is in Glendale, I have to drive through traffic to get there right after work. The first time I tried going, I left work at 6 and got there at 6:30pm. I thought 30 minutes before closing would be enough. However, when I got there no one was working. The receptionist said that all the workers either felt sick or had personal issues so they all left work early. I was a bit annoyed but scheduled an appointment for the next day anyways.
The next day, I was 10 – 15 minutes late for my appointment because I had to rush from a friend’s surprise proposal party that took longer than expected. This salon didn’t try to accommodate or reschedule for a same day appointment for me at all. I would totally understand if I didn’t already come the first time around. All that gas I wasting driving back and forth was SO not worth it.
So my recommendations for future clients: make an appointment and don’t be late because they don’t care about working around your schedule or needs. I’ve been to countless nail salons and they have all been much more accommodating. So I won’t be returning and Groupon refunded my money back.
