Ardy’s Place

On our way to Griffith park, my friend and I, stopped by Ardy’s for the first time to have lunch. The owner was very nice and friendly. We ordered the Cutlet sandwich and plate. He took his time to prepare the food. It was amazingly yummy (tasted just like home made Cutlet)!!! He also made us some complementary salad which was really good too. If I ever go back to Glendale area, I would definitely stop by.

A very new and very promising panini/​deli place. Ardy, the owner and sandwich maker extraordinaire puts nothing but care, fresh ingredients topped with an incredible palate into his paninis. Although you might have to wait (they’re understaffed) it’s definitely worth it. I had the Armenian cutlet (ground beef and mushrooms) panini. Incredibly savory. The panini with two sides and a drink for just nine dollars! This place is destined to become Glendale’s greatest lunch spot.

Great place for lunch before or after a visit to Griffith Park! The sandwiches we had (Italian, German sausage, & pastrami) were satisfying and big enough to have the leftovers as another meal. Crispy crusted bread with a fluffy inside held a good balance of meat, mayo, and veggies. The sides we ordered (potato salad & bean salad) felt homey and refreshing. Only reason we couldn’t give it 5 stars is because the sandwiches took a while to be prepared (granted, he made each fresh) and the interior could use some updating and more seating. Would be fun to do take-​out for a picnic at the park!

The service is great and the food is also pretty good. The guy at the counter is very friendly and genuinely seems to care about the customer. Keep up the good service. I’ll be telling my co-​workers and friends about this little gem.

I was in LA on a business trip a while back and I heard their turkey sammich was to die for so I decided to check it out, and they were wrong. To begin with, I decided to come eat here during BUSINESS hours however they were closed? I totally understand if there was a family emergency or some catering gig, but you don’t have the time to put up a measly little post it note? I was on a time crunch and this was the only place in the area that seemed decent so I waited it out while I was in the area. Strike one. Call me crazy, but I’d rather eat cafeteria food than coming to this place, that’s how BLAND the food was. Strike two. The cherry on top of this crappy sundae was a black HAIR IN MY SANDWICH. Yes ladies and gentleman a HAIR. Strike three. My advice for this business: adjust your business hours, buy some spices at your local grocery store, and wear a hair net.

I live at Americana and this place is fairly close by. Based on the reviews and the close proximity, I decided to give this place a try.
The rating is for the fact that their posted hours for today are 10 a.m. — 5 p.m., it is now 11:15 a.m., and they are still closed.
Perhaps I will give this place a try some other time, but for now 3 stars it is for the fact that it seems they are a bit unreliable and unprofessional.

I discovered this place a few weeks go and had to come back because the veggie sandwich is delicious! I ordered the lunch special with included a homemade vegetarian side and chips. The side was a cold bean and tomato paste dish, very tasty as well. Not many veggie options around here so I highly recommend this sandwich to vegetarians who love grilled breaded eggplant.
This is a great lunch spot because you can call ahead for pick up or eat in. The space is clean and cozy. The owner is very friendly and you can tell he puts a lot of care into the preparation of his food.

Great sandwich shop! The owner makes everything to order and it is very fresh. I recommend the chicken or Italian panini. They are both great!

I ordered a sandwich and went to pick it up and they were closed. I’ve tried to call and no one is answering. Very annoyed. It’s 2:00 in the afternoon!
UPDATE: Ardy called me several times. He was working alone and was on a delivery. He gave me his cell number and said he’d take care of me next time. I was in a time crunch, so ended up sandwich less, but he was very apologetic and I will get a full refund. Would try again if in the area.
2^nd update: They have gone above and beyond to make it up to me. I guess it was Eat24’s mistake. They are very customer oriented.

Ardys is awesome. The owner is really genuine and the sandwiches are top notch. Last time I came in he was out of the meat I wanted and he gave me a free bag of fresh cookies. The knockwurst sandwich he recommended as a substitute was awesome too. Highly recommend this place!

Came in this morning planning on just getting an iced coffee and was upgraded to coffee mixed with vanilla ice cream. Exactly what I wanted and didn’t even know it. Ardy’s is clean, has delicious food (try the roast beef sandwich!), and such a friendly environment. They will take care of you here!

I tried this place few days ago. It’s near my friends house. The owner looked like he was high and just chillin with no other customers. I guess that should have been my first clue not to go in. The place is old and dirty. The food tastes bad. My guess is that the food is really old.

I went in for the first time this afternoon and got their italian sandwich. Wow! It was SO good! If you look at my reviews, they are pretty heavy on the sandwich places. I am a sandwich fanatic and I am very particular. The mortadella was italian (i.e it had pistachios in it — yum!), and the salami was a thick-​cut, dry aged variety. Almost like those cabernet soaked salami’s you can get at a specialty store. The combo of the two meats with the cheese, red onion, sauce, and tomato were perfection. I know I shouldn’t say this, but it was as good as Mario’s, which I put a high value on. Now, about the bread. It was like some kind of flat french bread that was grilled panini style, maybe a thin foccacia? What a great compliment to the sandwich! The owner knows what he is doing.
The only critique I would offer is to liven up the place with new décor to encourage eat-​in dining. If they adopted a theme, they could identify themselves better. As it stands now it is a generic looking shop. But really, they have a killer product and you will not regret eating there. Also, the owner is a very genuine nice guy. It is always refreshing to talk to a local business owner and get to know the people you are supporting. I will be back!

Having just moved to the area, I wandered into Ardy’s Place to grab a sandwich and an iced coffee. Ardy was working on getting a delivery out on time, but was still kind enough to take a few minutes to make me my coffee and sandwich before he took off. While he was preparing everything, we chatted for a bit: he runs and operates the business pretty much by himself, making the food and running deliveries. He was incredibly friendly and sociable, and quick to mention how flexible they can be with orders at no extra charge.
Anyway, even pushing aside the friendly service from an awesome local entrepreneur, Ardy makes GREAT sandwiches. I had the roast beef panini with tomato, onion, provolone, and mayo. The menu calls these the best paninis you’ll ever eat. I’m not going to go quite that far, but the sandwich I got was definitely right up there. I would HIGHLY recommend giving this hidden gem of a sandwich joint a shot.

This past October, I was at a friends Halloween Party. She had sandwiches catered. After snacking on a few, I had asked her where the place was located, they were amazingly delicious!
She had given me the wrong location. I would drive by the wrong location frequently looking for place. After 4 months later, I finally call her and get the correct address. Let me tell you, best thing I’ve ever done!
The owner, goes beyond customers expectations. The food quality is amazing!!! Small business like this needs growth! Please support your local mom and pop business! Sandwiches so good, make you wanna slap yo momma!

Ardy’s place is the place to go if you want homemade style food that comes with personal service. They have the BEST turkey sandwich I have EVER had. I also love the cutlet sandwich, especially the sauce.
It makes all the difference when the owner of a café love’s making and serving food. From the minute I walk in until the moment I leave, the experience I get at Ardy’s is more than just delicious food. The people/​customers are always very nice and friendly; Ardy himself will make sure you feel at home. They also have freshly squeezed orange juice and grapefruit juice and they are both very tasty.
Overall, Ardy’s place offers excellent tasting sandwiches in a comfortable and clean environment. Their prices are more than fair and they also have plenty of parking spaces in the back. Stop by and try, you’ll be happy you did!
