A+ Adventist Children’s Center

I am a product of A plus Adventist Children’s Center so you can imagine how excited I was to have children of my own to send them to this center. Unfortunately it is not the place that I remember… Poor leadership from director, poor communication between teachers, and what seems to be unqualified staff.
My son has been going here for 2 years but it won’t be long before I pull him out all together. I had high hopes that my son would flourish here but he isn’t. They constantly call me to pick him up because he is «sick» only to find out they were not adhering to best practices for my son with celiac disease. I had made it clear that he was to come into no contact with gluten as his GI system cannot handle it at all due to this autoimmune restriction, but today I walked in on their lunch time with a plate of pizza directly in front of him. The countless trips to the doctor, calling out from work to pick him up, etc all makes sense now… They were not looking out for my son.
Perhaps this could have been prevented if there was any sort of communication between director and staff, or even staff to staff. My son was promptly «promoted» to the next classroom when he turned 3 and it was never even discussed with either my husband or I. There was no meeting, no introduction of teachers, and they didn’t even tell us where on the campus his classroom would be!
I also call from time to time to check up on my son but nobody picks up either of their telephone lines. I’ve also had to fill out 2 advisories that they got visited by the state for injury incidents happening on campus in the last 6 months alone.
This place may work for some parents but it just isn’t cutting it out for my family. I would advise any prospective families to tour the facilities and meet with the staff. Not only will you find subpar facilities but you will see that the programming is lacking if you expect your child to learn anything. Last year my son was bringing home «projects» that I was doing way back in 1987. Tuition keeps increasing but no changes to the areas that probably need it the most… Which includes STAFF DEVELOPMENT.

My daughter just finished three years at A+, from age 2 to 5, and she truly loved it. I feel lucky to have found such a wonderful daycare and preschool for her. All of the kind and loving teachers took amazing care of her and helped me with every stage of her development, from potty training to preparing her for kindergarten. Her days were full of enriching activities and she would proudly show me her artwork and worksheets every afternoon. A+ does a great job of creating a sense of community through fundraising events that bring all the families together in support of the school. Everything about the school is clean and organized and the tuition rates are very reasonable, especially considering the high quality of care. Our daughter had a great experience at A+ and we plan to bring our son there when he is old enough :)

Great center, my son loves going here. He started when he was 18 months and has improved greatly due to the great staff. Highly recommended.

The teachers & staff here are such amazing people! My daughter, who went to daycare here a few years ago & now returns sometimes for winter/​summer camps, loved the activities that they offer (eg: Kid Fit program, swimming lessons at the YMCA & Star Dreams dance classes) & loves bringing home all the craft projects that she made. They also have various fundraisers each month (restaurants, See’s, books, etc) & festivals (Fall & May) for the whole family. Now my son is attending daycare here & he gets excited to go to school. He has some food allergies, so whenever there is a party or an event where they will be serving something he might be allergic to, they’ve contacted both my husband & I to check & make sure. My kids were both well taken care of by the entire staff & so they both love all of them in return. Each teacher has not only made a lasting impact on my kids but for my husband & I as well. It’s reassuring to know that I am leaving my kids in the kind hands of such wonderful & attentive people.
