The Noodle Too

From the outside, it looks run down, in a corner of a strip mall — i believe it was next door to a dollar store. Inside, it looks like christmas in October.
This place probably makes the best phở i have ever had in my life. The broth, rich, not too salty, not too thing, just a rich beef and scallions flavor. Lots of clean fresh noodles mixed in with tons of fresh cut beef. Honestly, writing a review doesn’t do it justice. If you live close to the suburbs, i would say skip argyle with its busy streets, crowded parking, long lines, and head to this little treasure.

It’s a cute place. From the outside the little strip mall looks really run down, but, inside it’s fun and vibrant.
The food was okay. I ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer and I didn’t enjoy the flavor. It didn’t taste like anything I’ve had before.
I had the Pad Siew as my entrée and that was actually really tasty. Slightly saucier than other places, which I love. Mmm, sauce.
I was a little bugged by the coke I ordered. It was in a can and they gave me a glass to pour the coke into. The top of the can though was dirty. Technically I wasn’t drinking from the can but I’d still have to pour from it so I cleaned it off myself.
I’d try it again.

Went here after our first Phở stop had no vegetarian friendly meals and we still really wanted some Vietnamese food.
We went here and my BF got the everything Phở… I don’t know why, I knew he’d take one look at tongue and poop in his pants. He said that overall, it was just okay… but it looked good to me, I think he just got scared of the misc parts. He also got a Vietnamese crêpe with beef, shrimp, carrots, and some other stuff as an app. I tried the shell and sauce… it was phenomenal, truly a delight.
My soup was good but just okay. It seemed VERY American. I can’t imagine it’s what traditional Vietnamese soup tastes like. The portions were giant though. It’s defo a deal but not what I would imagine as authentic.
The strip mall it’s in is not so nice but the interior is HUGE and pretty welcoming. Except that there were only 2 other table is the place and they say us in between those 2 tables with screaming children… one of the children even banging on the wood paneled wall periodically… scaring the shit out me, causing me to drop my spoon contents into my big bowl and splash in my face… urg. Also, my food wasn’t filling. I mean, there was a point where I got tired of slurping and the noodles hitting me in the face, but not full. We ended up going across the street to Portillo’s afterward.
The service was slow and of the 2 bowls of soups that were left over, one was almost full– had to be at least a half gallon of soup and one was only a ¼ full. We saw all the other tables get their large portioned left overs boxed up for them but our server brought over 8 styrofoam pint containers which A. were not going to be big enough and B. putting the contents of our soup into those containers was like pouring a 50 gallon barrel’s contents into a pop can. I asked our server how to get the soup in there without spilling and she laughed and walked away… uhm, what?
She came back to clear more stuff and also after we’d spilled a crap ton of soup on the table trying to get it into too small containers. I asked if they could put it into a container in the kitchen, over a sink or something because we’d end up leaving with a thimble of soup in our container and the rest on the table. She came back with the soup in a larger plastic container– why she didn’t just give us 2 plastic containers instead of 8 styrofoam ones, I have no idea. I also don’t know why they wrapped up all the other tables stuff right off the bat, but not ours.
We really never find ourselves in the area but nevertheless we prob won’t be back. I would recommend the soup if you’re sick. It’s defo a good comfort food the way chicken noodle soup is. Maybe get your food to go and it could easily be 3 or 4 stars.

Living in Romeoville, it’s really difficult finding a great noodle place. I usually travel to Chicago (Argyle) for my noodle fix. I think I’ve found a place that is somewhat closer to the southwest suburbs. and I’m glad that’s The Noodle Too. It’s worth the trip from Romeoville to get your noodle fix. It’s just a straight shot up I-​355.
I’ve been to The Noodle Too a few times. They are somewhat of a Pan-​asian restaurant as they offer Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese dishes. However, I think their speciality lies in Vietnamese. While, they may be a dollar or two more than what you would fine in Argyle, they have great food. Their beef phở is just great comfort food at $ 7.00 a bowl. It comes in a large portion with beef brisket, flank, tripe. They slice the tripe thinner than most places which I love! It makes it much more tender and easy to chew.
Their lemongrass porkchop is also delicious with their homemade fish sauce. I also like their spring rolls which has shrimp and pork.
