Probably a 3.5 It’s a 5 on dollar taco days, because of the great deal but they get very busy for this promotion, so plan for a wait.

We went on taco tuesday and can’t beat the $ 1.00 tacos. I ordered the chicken. It was marinated in some sort of red/brownish sauce. The meat was not all white it seemed to be a combo of white and dark, but I could be wrong. At first I thought they messed up my order and they gave me steak, because it was stained reddish brown from the sauce. It tasted really good. Not too spicy, but you have an option to add salsa that they provide for free if you want more of a kick. My daughter asked for just a little sour cream on hers and they glopped on way too much, but after she took most of it off she liked her taco as well. My son scarfed all 3 of his down without a second thought. Both my kids got the churros. My son said it was the best churro he ever had. The service was good, they were really fast.

I went on Taco Thursday to get $ 1 tacos. It was my first time at this place so I just popped in to give it a try. There was a long line and this sweet lady started taking orders. Since I was riding solo and did not have my glasses, I decided to spew out the first taco that came to mind, which was lengua(tongue). I went to pay and turns out these weren’t a dollar; I think only the steak ones are. Oh well, it wasn’t super expensive to begin with, so I was okay with the price. So I get my order and I’m snapping pictures for Instagram. It is one sexy looking taco. I am all for presentation. When I see many colors on my plate, I drool because I eat with my eyes. I pick the first one up and the tasty lengua is slipping out. Nooo… come back to me. I use my pincer-of-a-hand and pick up those little suckers and toss them in my corn tortilla and take a generous bite. The shell had a nice crunch because they grill it with oil. I went through two of them so fast. When I hit the third taco, I hit that wall of doom where the waist line was sending«no more, no more» signals to my brain. I champed on though, and ate the last of it. I felt so full and also glad I tried it. I won’t go here everyday because it was a little greasy. However, when I’m in the mood to treat myself on a Thursday afternoon, I’ll be there.

This place is absolutly horrible. Worst mexican food i have ever had. Salsa taste like they just took it out of the jar. Their meat is very dry. You pay a lot of money for really bad food. The best el famous by far is in elmhurst

If you are going to have a $ 1.00 taco special on Tuesday and Thursday put some meat in them. On Tuesday ordered 1 steak and 2 chicken tacos. The steak came as a lettuce taco with a couple of pieces of steak on top. The chicken was better but nothing close to the amount of meat on the other non-special days. Normally 3 tacos will be enough for lunch and I’m good till dinner. After these 3 tacos I had to purchase lunch at 1 pm, still hungry. I will now skip the special taco days and pay the whole $ 1.85 and get a filled taco. You created the special, don’t cheat the customers when they order it.

Best part of this place is Taco Tuesday/Thursday where pork, chicken, steak, and beef tacos are all $ 1. Their tacos are fresh, made with corn tortillas and loaded with toppings. I can only eat about 4 before I’m full. I highly recommend getting there a bit early, because otherwise, you might wait(as one might expect on a $ 1 taco day). Get the verde hot sauce for your tacos, the red sauce is weird tasting and you’d be better off putting some sriracha on it. Also, it goes great with homemade aioli!

I don’t know what happened but the quality of meat in the steak tacos has seriously gone downhill. I thought the last time it was a fluke but it was even drier and tougher today. Unfortunately I’ll need to find a new go-to place. I’m disappointed.

Affordable, casual and $ 1 tacos on Tuesdays and Thursday’s along with $ 1 fish tacos on Fridays. My hubby usually orders their steak nachos which is the bomb! He eats this appetizer as a meal and has good portions. Their horchata is good and refreshing and they have churros for dessert. Casual and clean for dine in but we usually order for take out since we usually need to be rolled out in a belly barrel after our meal!

I’ve gone to El Famous Burrito quite a few times over the years. I’ve gone to both the Wheeling and the Glendale Heights location. I will say that value wise this is the place to go for nice food portions. Their burritos are out of this world in terms of size. Also it is a good value with their $ 1 taco days. I will have to make it on Friday to try their $ 1 fish tacos. I don’t think it’s the best ever but it does satisfy that Mex food craving.

Idk what everyone is raving about Just cause they have dollar tacos did everyone forget that tacos are suppose to have flavor the meat still juicy. The tacos were dry so were the enchiladas which had a piece of cheese on top and no sour cream. Who doesn’t put sour cream on enchiladas especially some dried up enchiladas. I hate to say this but I’d rather go to McDonald’s instead or make my own tacos and enchiladas with tomatillo sause!!! disappointed all the way. If u want real Mexican food avoid this place it’s a big disappointment.

Tuesday and Thursday dollar tacos, along with Friday’s $ 1 Fish Tacos are to die for! The tacos are made very nicely and are filling! Even though the price is cheap you still get a well loaded taco and they taste great in my opinion. I cannot eat meat that is not Halal so I always get the bean or fish tacos and I love em. Come here a lot for lunch since it is very close to my work. Horchata is very yummy also, it is on the cinnamon side a bit more but this is the reason why I like it so much. My coworkers and I get full off of very delicious tacos for very cheap! Overall I recommend this place to anyone that loves tacos and also like to not spend too much on food. Best bang for your buck. I haven’t tried much else on the menu besides the tacos and horchata but based off my experience from that, I will Definately come back for a different meal!

I love their food! Especially the tacos which you can get for a $ 1 on Tuesday and Thursday every week. This place is always super busy so make sure you order ahead of time. Usually takes 15 – 20 minutes for a take out order and 5 – 10 minutes for dine-in. The only thing I did not like from there is the chicken quesadilla. There was barely any sign of cheese in mine, it was mostly chicken drenched in red salsa. I wash’t happy with it, but all of the other things on the menu are really good and priced fairly. Tastes like its home made. Will be back for sure.

I like this place a lot. They have awesome chips and salsa. Pretty much everything on the menu is delish. My typical order is the enchiladas dinner which comes with beans and rice. I truly have never eaten the burritos from here so I cannot speak to how tasty they actually are, but I have been told they are really good. Location is good unless you need to head south on bloomingdale rd upon your exit. Staff seems nice enough. The only reason I did not rate it higher is because the food doesn’t stand out all that much. I have eaten at other Mexican places I enjoy more than here but in a pinch this place will do just fine.

Good eats on a budget! El Famous Burrito has fairly big menu with great combos. Don’t let the mean lookin’ man on the logo stray you away. Welcome it and all the quick-authentic Mexican food you can eat. Also, they have a large dining area if you decide to eat in but I see a lot people ordering out. Doesn’t feel like a chain restaurant, even though they have a few locations. I’d recommend it to others and I’ll keep on coming back when I’m craving some tacos!

Good tacos for the price. I’ve had tastier, more authentic mex food in my time but for the ‘burbs it is quite good. $ 1 Taco Tuesdays & Thursdays are definitely worth checkin out!
