My daughter and her friends went to Style the Friday before homecoming. Mani/pedis were good, however, my daughter had her eyebrows waxed and DISASTER! I wish I could post a photo of her left eye. Severely burned. Not only did this impact her homecoming — the burn was so bad she could not even put make up on it– the salon insisted she just had an allergic reaction on one eye only and that skin is different between eyes. Realistically the eye waxed first had extra hot wax applied. It is 5 days later and her eye is still showing signs of burn. Hopefully the $ 25 dollar tube of Maderma will help alleviate scarring or Style will be hearing from me again. The response from the owner was definitely NOT satisfactory. I expected an apology and assurance that the procedures would be reviewed with the staff so this did not happen to any one else. I am in my late 50s and have never been burned from a wax job and I can only attribute this to poor standard operating procedures. My daughter was offered A free salon service, however, that hardly seem compensation for the burn, the ruined homecoming photos and the 5 days of pain. I am keeping my fingers crossed that there is no scarring

Style nails is convenient, modern, very clean but not consistent, I’ve received some amazing services here but other times not so much. Parking in Glencoe can be an issue at times due to recent construction of the new writers theatre building around the corner. Their prices are a tad higher which is fine if the service is top notch. I recently went in on a Friday(called & made an appointment for 5:30) I also specifically asked what time do you close and I was told 7 pm. I was running a few minutes late and they told me they could only do the services at the same time. I did not get the hand paraffin, massage, nail soak, base coat between polish but the worst mani/pedi combo EVER. It was literally 6:20 pm and I was sitting at the dryer and the ladies had their coats on and were just waiting to push me out the door. It pissed me off enough to write this review. Normally I would let it go but there are too many nail salons around to tolerate sub par service.

Previously I’ve had a good experience here, but my service today was very poor. I was there with 3 other women who are regulars, including my mother, but I live out of town so they don’t know me. I don’t know if this is part of why my treatment was so different than everyone else’s, but my mother goes in every week. I watched everyone else get much superior treatment(long massage on hands/arms and feet/legs, shoulder massage while drying, top coat on nails after, etc… and I got none of these). Not only that, but my technician, Lisa, kept hurting me while she aggressively dug into my toe nails. I told her multiple times that it hurt, but she did not do anything differently. It was very far from relaxing. I watched while everyone else in my party got massaged(both during the mani/pedi and after) and I was just ignored. She slapped lotion on my arms and legs and barely rubbed it in. After we were done she just said bye and walked away. Everyone else had their purse brought over to the drying station and then got a shoulder massage. Someone else ended up bringing my bag to me. Then everyone got top coats put on their fingers and toes, but I got nothing. It was frustrating that the same money was spent on my manicure/pedicure and I had to sit there and watch everyone else get much better service than I got. So I guess I could recommend anybody but Lisa as she seemed much too busy to focus or care about my service. For that kind of money I expect more or at least equal, service(we all paid together).

I have been here a few times and have really liked my mani and pedis from Style Nails! I have had Jamie for a mani(very good but told me she does not usually do clients which confused me lol so cant see her again), Joon for both(also great), and most recently Sue who did a good job as well but I was concerned that her station was not as clean as it should have been. There was a pair of nail clippers just sitting out(not sterilized) and they were really dirty(had gunk all over them) which was pretty gross. The other thing I dont really like is that they appear to reuse files and buffers(and they arent sterile as they are pulled out of station drawers). So that does give me some pause… The other tools do seem to get autoclaved but the ladies should be told not to touch the tips of the tools to their hands as clearly this contaminates the once sterile tool… Can you tell I am insanely freaky about nail place cleanliness? lol A manicure is a steal at $ 18 and that includes free paraffin wax AND a shoulder massage which is great… def love that part haha. The other cool thing that they do is put a top coat in between the layers of polish which helps it last longer(and it really does work). Downside is hours later polish may still be somewhat wet so ive dinged a few nails but not a huge deal I prob. need to be more patient letting them dry haha Last thing to note is this is not the typical loud chatty nail place which I happen to like actually… makes it more relaxing i think :)

I used to love this place. They even put a coat between layers to make it last longer and every manicure I’ve had here has been pretty good. However, I can’t bring myself to go back because some of the people who work there are rude. The first incident happened when I walked in for an appointment. They told me that I could come back in an hour for a manicure. No big deal. I walked around and came back an hour later. As I was picking my polish, a woman said«We only have time to do a polish change for you, so if you want a full manicure, you’ll have to call and make an appointment.» As far as I’m concerned, I made an appointment an hour ago when you took my name and told me to come back an hour later! It was so ridiculous that I walked out and went to Bien Assorti instead. The second incident happened when I showed up for a 4:30 appointment at 4:25. They told me my manicurist was finishing up with another client. I sat and waited for 25 minutes before he started on me. By the time he started, they were preparing to close in 10 minutes, so he hurried through everything. At one point, I noticed that he left nail polish residue on my nails and he was getting ready to paint over it. I asked him(very nicely!) if he could get the rest of the nail polish off, to which he responded rudely«I know what I’m doing.» He then hurriedly painted one coat of color on my nails and opened the top coat. At that point I had had enough, so I asked him(politely) if he would do two coats of color. And he laughed and said«oops.» So he rushed through the second coat and as soon as he was done he tried to hurry me out of the salon. At this point even one of his coworkers glared at him and so he begrudgingly moved me to the dryer and gave me a massage. It was one of the worst manicure experiences I have ever had. If you don’t have time to do a customer’s nails properly, then you shouldn’t overbook appointments, make them wait 20 minutes and then race through their manicure. He was one of the worst manicurists I’ve ever been to and I refuse to go back because of him. Sad, because some of the manicurists that work there are pretty nice and do a good job.

There were a few things/people I was sad to leave back in the city… my nail salon & manicurist being one of them. Fortunately, I’ve become a little less sad since discovering Style Nails & Spa. I’ve been a few times since moving to the hood and my hands/feet are looking even better than they did back in the city. When I first visited my nails were a disaster between all the unpacking and bottle washing(gotta love the newborn days) I’d been doing. After 30 minutes in the chair at Style Nails & Spa they were as good as new. A regular manicure costs $ 18 and even comes with a complimentary paraffin wax(and they even throw in a shoulder massage while the wax dries). The 2 manicures I“ve gotten here after lasted me over 1 ½ weeks, which I consider to be pretty good. And I have to admit the pedicure was one of the best I’ve had in a long time. I called ahead for my first visit since that’s what I was used to in the city, but while there realized it wasn’t necessary. Since then I’ve just walked in and haven’t had any trouble getting a manicure and/or pedicure immediately.

Went to this salon based on past good reviews. Had a pedicure done by the young man there-pretty awful job. Then he did my nails, and forgot to do the massage, etc. Had a «no chip» manicure finished by Jaime, which proceeded to chip within 2 days. Called to have it repaired, but«no time today, sorry»… sorry, no time for return to salon either!!! EVER. $ 69 for mani/pedi with a $ 13 tip and NOTIME??? Too many other good options in the neighborhood.

If you are concerned about hygiene, this is the nail salon to strongly consider. Everything is sterilized anew for each customer. Customers have their own box with file and buffer only to be used by you. There are many extra steps to each manicure with lotions and hand and arm exfoliation. Pedicures have additional steps as well. Salon is spotless and serene. As a bonus, after each 10th manicure or pedicure you get one free.

I love Style Nails & Spa. I been to all 4 Nails Spas within this 2 block radius and this is really the best! Their manicures and pedicures last me 3 weeks. They do an amazing job on their pedicures. They also do the parrafin wax, free of charge with your pedicures. Most places charge for that. Also, they give you a shoulder massage at the end. Numerous times, I chipped my polish before I even leave and they never give me hassle for re-painting them. When I say re-paint them, they literally start over and make sure I’m happy. No one does that and when they do, they secretly talk about you in a different language, probably calling you a moron. One time, I wasn’t thrilled about the polish on my nails and the owner happily recommend me a few other shades and re-painted it over and over again until we were both satisfied about it. More her than me. :) Overall, I hope they do well — I wish more people would give them a chance. I know most people are dedicated to their weekly gal at their weekly spot, but Style deserves to succeed because they go above and beyond like no other place.
