Little Joe & John’s Barber Shop

Great old fashioned barbershop that’s super chill and laid back. Nothing fancy, just a good cut by friendly barbers. Been going before and after the new owners, and not much has changed. Still a great spot.

Growing up in Glen Rock I learned to fully appreciate all the gems in town we have, among the collection of classics is John’s Barber Shop! Now that I live in Hudson County I make sure that each time I visit my parents I stop in for a fresh cut, and they always get it right. Even when my little nephews come visit from out of state we’ll all walk into town and make a sometimes daunting experience, into a positive and memorable one. The guys are friendly, professional, and the wait is never long; they make getting a Saturday morning haircut go from an errand to an enjoyable outing.

I take my 10 y/​o son here and my husband comes here as well. Al the owner is great gives a perfect cut to them both! Very reasonable old fashioned barber shop. If you have boys, don’t spend a fortune at kids salons, come here instead! Kids cut only $ 17 and for the little ones they even have a «police car» chair. The owner speaks Russian, and the other barbers speak Italian and of course English! Located in the middle of Glen Rock near both train stations.

Due to the great reviews on Unilocal I went and got a shave and a haircut. The shave was great as Al took his time and was a real hot towel shave. I have been looking for a good haircut for a long time and finally got one. Al is very good and I definitely will return

When it comes to barbers I am a pain in the you know what! But these guys are great, Al cuts my hair masterfully everytime! They are great with children and adults alike, that police car chair always gets the kids revved up and excited for their fresh cut. I highly recommend this shop!

I visited my parents in Glen Rock to help with the shoveling of what turned out to be the non-​blizzard of ’15. Since snow removal took all of an hour I decided to maximize my day with a weekday haircut. I called Joe & John’s and they were open. The gentleman answering the phone said that he was closing although that he would wait for me. When I came in there were two people getting haircuts and since I had a work call in 30 minutes I asked if I could come back in an hour. When I came back I met Al and Nick. Al is the new proprietor (two years) although new enough for me since I haven’t been here since I was in high school. I let Al know I wanted it short on the sides and just a clean up on top. He did a great job of transforming my snowed in beastly image into something more presentable. Also Al and and Nick knew my brother and apparently my brother in law as well so they asked me to say hello. I’m looking forward to the next opportunity /​wintry mix situation to come in and spruce up my image at Joe and John’s. Great service and overall experience right in my home-​town.

Al is a great barber. He recently bought the place and give a very professional haircut. Happy to find him. Nice hot shave too!

Nick is an amazing barber, masterful with scissors! Not many can compare, I highly recommend this barber shop!!!

I’ve been looking for a good barber shop for a while and frequened some, OK, bad and horrible ones. As noted earlier, this place has excellent barbers that give a good haircuts that are affordable and reliable. It is now the only place I go with my kids to.

Never received a bad cut here. Never waited more than 20 minutes to get in the chair, even on the weekend.

I just went here for a cut and I’m very happy with how it turned out. My hair was cut by Dom, who did a great mostly scissor cut on my annoyingly straight hair. The cost was also fair. I would definitely recommend them for a cut!
