Good place to stop in on your way from work for something to drink with dinner or spend half your Saturday at the stores awesome free tastings. Huge selection. The prices are ok. Lots of items on sale.

Bottle Buys is a great wine and liquor store. I go out of my way to shop here because of their great selection and low prices. The staff couldn’t be nicer and they know what they’re talking about. Oh yeah, now I can recharge my Prius while I’m shopping, how cool is that? I love this place!

Always great deals and amazing selection with a great staff. My first choice for wines and liquors. So glad it’s in my hood!

This is usually my go to place for wine a liquor. Great staff that knows wine and doesn’t try and push any particular wine. They often get some really great bottles in so I always make it a point to stop in when I’m in town. I wish they could expand a bit more on their Cabernets but besides that, great place with great prices.

When I couldn’t locate the wine I was seeking I asked a short statured employee, wearing green mesh bottle sleeves as bracelets, if they carried a specific variety of wine and was scoffed at, as if he were a master sommelier and I a mere peasant. He replied, yes. I then asked if he knew where I could find the wine and he replied that if he knew that they carried it he clearly knew where it was located. I located the exit and left. Just direct me to my wine with courtesy and respect, less the demeaning chitter chatter. I will not be returning to be treated like a second class citizen. I hope in the future this establishment hires and trains helpful and respectful employees and fires bad ones. Otherwise, the store had a good but hard to locate selection. I’ll be sticking to my local liquor store, where they know me and treat me well.

Large place. If you are looking for the basic liquors or wines to stock your home, this is the right place. This place can be packed on the weekends, but the lines move quickly. They offer wine tastings everyday, having a series of Wine Stations in the back of the store. The workers at this location are very friendly and helpful, cause sometimes the place can be somewhat intimidating.

Large place. Great tastings. Decent prices, though they have gone up in the past few years. A go to for all your booze needs.

Went here with my friend to get some wine for our friends birthday celebration. My friend wanted to find out about a wine she tried at a restaurant so she asked a staff member and he was really rude. First off, she did not know how to pronounce it(GODFORBID) and that raised all sorts of hell. A customer entered our conversation to correct her in a snobby way. Then the staff member took us to the wine we were trying to find more about, and as she was asking him questions about it, he began to roll his eyes and just have this terrible attitude. We saw him being really nice to the rich, snobby, uppity customers but to us, he was downright rude. The whole point is to ask and learn about wine just like he had to learn. So my friend told him you don’t need to roll your eyes at me, I am just trying to learn, and he laughed. –_– So then we went to pay for the bottles we picked out, and before the checkout even began, she stared me down and gave me attitude and I was being so nice! She would not accept my id! I have the highest form of id in the U. S and I am way beyond the legal age to drink. So then we begin to get into it and by law they are supposed to accept it. I could have called the police and made a big deal about it, but instead I chose to report them because I didn’t want my night ruined. Here at bottle buys they want to ONLY cater to Rich, Snobby White folk. Hate to say it, but my friend is white and she said the same thing! I refuse to give my money to where I am not welcome! Damn this place to hell!

Go here for all my alcohol needs. Since they’ve redone the place they have a great tasting area. You can look up a schedule on their website.

Call me a Napa wine snob, but this was a warehouse full of really cheap wine. There was nothing from California that was worth buying. I admit to being ignorant on French wines, but the bottle we bought to try didn’t make it home intact as the clerk just dropped it into a cheap plastic bag and the bottle broke on the way home.

Bottlebuys has a vast selection of well-priced wines, but only a few of them are familiar to me. It’s tricky to go here and be able to find the same thing twice — unless it’s a fairly inexpensive mass-distributed brand — so if you find something you really like, go back and stock up! We like to go here to peruse the Bordeaux section, as they frequently have very good(if not pricey) vintages from renowned regions. It’s also fun to play around in their Pinot Noir section — they have interesting labels from the West Coast, and prices range from $ 10 to $ 70, depending on what you’re looking for. As for the store layout, it’s clean, well-lit and pretty organized. The staff is always stocking and re-stocking from their trollies, which can be a bit annoying as you have to move out of THEIR way, but whatevs. They also have a section with vino accoutrements, from glasses to stoppers and corkscrews, and decorative gift bags so this can be a great place to pop in to get someone a gift. Oh, they sell booze, too — tequila, rum, vodka, etc., and an assortment of mixers to boot.

I’m just a regular Joe when it comes to wine and whatnot, but this is definitely one of my favorite places to go. I live in Manhattan but go out to Long Island several times a month. If I know I’ll need a bottle for a future occassion — housewarming, birthday, picnic, whatever — I’ll plan ahead and pick up a bottle at Bottlebuys when I’m in the area rather than any place in Manhattan. I know it’s not so convenient to lug a bottle all the way from Glen Head into the city, but hey, the price discounts are worth it. For example, one of my staple gifts is a nice bottle of Veuve Cliquot. In Manhattan, I’m looking at at least $ 50. Bottlebuys sells it for $ 37. Nice. The store itself is large and spacious, but not overwhelming, clean, neat, and the staff members are knowledgable and helpful. They have a wide variety of wines, spirits, liquors, etc. to fit any budget. It’s a good place to check out if you get the chance.
