Hello, Is this place even still in business? I went by there to drop off some oil at the Firestone, and there were a bunch of deadbeats hanging out on a stoop by the hotel. It looked like it had been taken over by drug dealers, hookers and homeless people. I got a decent view inside one of the windows and it defintely did not look like a hotel anymore.

squalor(skwlr) – n the condition or quality of being squalid; disgusting dirt and filth See also: Rodeway Inn, Glen Ellyn, IL Seriously. After roughing it one night at home(in the dark and baking heat) after the storm knocked out power, I vowed to myself that I could not do it for another night, and booked a «hotel» close to where I live. By the way, thanks for letting me down BIGTIME, Travelocity! I had no idea that I lived in such close proximity to the Glen Ellyn version of Skid Row. What a dump. Everything about this place was NASTY — dirty parking lot, filthy hallways, saggy beds, sticky carpeting, gross bathroom, other guests of extreme questionable character randomly walking around and attempting to strike up conversations. I would have been better off in the dark and baking heat at home.

Booked a room via ChoiceHotels. We arrived around 10pm to check-in only to find out that our reservations were canceled since they had no rooms at the time when we reserved. That mess was sorted out and we were finally given a room. The hotel overall was poorly maintained — there was ABC gum on a section of the lobby counter left by some nasty; the hallway carpets were stained in huge sections all over the place(I saw some weirdo walking around barefoot on this same carpet); the hotel passagewayssmelled like cigarette smoke; the non-carpeted floor looked like it never seen a mop; I found a dead cockroach in my room; and the fridge had never been defrosted and had mold growing all over the insulated parts. Only stayed there for one night, but I guess you get what you pay for. My cousin and I paid $ 60/night, but it was a nasty and disgusting place — very unsanitary and poorly kept. The genius behind the counter should minimize the small talk as well as(1) clean his hotel and(2) be more selective about who stays in the hotel(i.e. non-criminals or drug addicts) if he wants to keep his business. Oh yeah, free wi-fi was advertised but that actually means«no internet.» FREEWI-FI = NOINTERNET.
