AliKat Boutique

Cute, trendy clothing but the snooty attitude of the women working got me thinking that I should shop somewhere else more welcoming, such as Jeans and a Cute Top Shop in Wheaton. Of course I wasn’t dressed for boutique shopping today. That’s probably why they were rude. Silly me. Needless to say, I won’t be back.

I am relatively new to the area having recently moved from London. I am so please to not only find unique and fun pieces, but that I can get such personal and friendly service!
I have many visitors to my home and I always take them to Alikat! Every one I have brought in found such great items and raved about the friendly and helpful woman who work here. Each time I or anyone I bring in shops here, we feel as though we have a personal shopper.
This is my go to shop and I am never disappointed!

The service at this suburban boutique is amazing, as is their selection of clothes, jewelry and gift items! I’m on their email list and they only send updates I need — not too many. And they have great promotions on a variety of brands. I’ve been going there for years and it keeps pulling me back!

This store does stock so great brands that can be harder to find in the burbs without going to a place like OakBrook Mall or Woodfield. They also do have some great cute and unique gifts.
HOWEVER, I usually get treated poorly at worst or ambivalently at best. There customer service sucks, I’ve been in there many times and it’s always the same. Some the clerks follow me around or treat me like I’m going to steal something or am a homeless person (mind you I wear things like Tory Burch, Chanel, MK, and Louis Vuitton, so I am dress well and not in ratty sweats). At best they act like I’m not there and when I do ask them a question they seem to be irritated I am interrupting their conversations amongst themselves. This is not just the young staff but women in their 30s and 40’s (one of whom I presume to be the owner or manager). I don’t expect the high class treatment I get when I shop at Louis or Agent Provocateur, but if they’re billing themselves as a fashionable trendy mid/​high end shop, they need to treat their customers well. I mean I’ve walked into Louis wearing crap from target and gotten better treatment in there.

This is probably the best boutique in the area, and I go to many boutiques.. …if you want Free People, Ella Moss, Michael Stars, Sanctuary, Hudson jeans, JOES, etc you go to Alikat. Their jewelry is AMAZING. They have a mixture of price points and local designers like Teru Amaro, Dana Reed and Gemelli. I had a question about one of the pieces of jewelry and the staff member called the designer on the phone right then. It was communication and service you don’t see in this industry every day. They do fun events during holidays where they serve champagne while you shop. The staff are the nicest women. Mary is one of the women who helped me and she was so great. Very helpful and you can tell they really enjoy their job and like working there. The energy in the store is genuine and up beat. The owner Sandy has been there several times when I have shopped and she is very professional and stylish. The pieces of clothing and jewelry are always unique and different.
Alikat is a wonderful shopping experience where you can find a gift for a friend, a cute top to wear out and even a unique druzy necklace or earrings… They recently expanded the store and it has transformed that whole location. Truly a great experience.

This store is just what Glen Ellyn needed! It’s pricey, but a fun place to stop if you need a hostess gift, birthday gift, card, cutesy holiday décor, unusual/​fun & not the same ‘olé style clothes, and jewelry.

I just wanted to stop by and say how much I love AliKat! It’s pricey and I can’t afford to stop in there often but when I do — I find the most staple, unique, incredible pieces that I get compliments on time after time! It’s worth the splurge every once in a while to have those key items in your closet. The staff is so friendly and I could spend a solid 3 hours browsing all the good stuff they have. Keep up the great work!
