So now that we have had ours since September of this year(2015), I am a huge evangelist of Ductless Mini-Split A/C and heating systems. Many thanks to Action Heating & Air Conditioning, Inc.for a bang-up job installing our system. We selected the system from Mitsubishi USA, because it’s the best there is, and well worth the cost. We have a stucco house with plaster and lath walls, and I was worried about having to patch inside and damage to the stucco outside. Neither were an issue. They drill very small holes(maybe 3″-4″ in diameter) for the tubing. The installation was flawless and very clean; every day, I would come home and there was not a speck of dust anywhere. Since there are no ducts(just tubing running from the condenser outside to the«branch box» in the basement and then to each«head» unit), there is virtually no loss of energy that a ducted forced-air system would have. There’s no loud central unit to install in your attic or basement. The inside units literally just blow air, and they are amazingly quiet. Every component of the system, the head units and the condenser, run at variable speeds as needed. The condenser outside is also whisper quiet(so your neighbors will barely notice, if at all). Each room has its own independent temperature control(the system can be in either heating or cooling mode but not both at the same time). We’ve had a chance to use both the A/C and heat, and the system does a great job. In fact, the past few weeks that it has been so cold, when I have worked at home on Fridays, we set our boiler(hot water radiators) at a low temperature during the day to save energy, and I use one unit in my home office for heat. I can set it at 72 degrees, and the room is like a furnace in no time. Supposedly, the heat will work down to -13 °F degrees outside(not unusual for a Chicago winter!), and it is a great supplement or even replacement for your whole house if your other heat conks out for some reason on a cold day when you can’t get someone out without paying for an emergency visit. Another plus is that I’ll never have to drag window units up and down from the basement every year! You may also qualify for a ComEd energy efficiency credit! I applied, and we’ll see if they grant it for our situation. I am happy to answer any questions. You can also visit Mitsubishi’s website for more information and an article«5 Advantages of Ductless Cooling and Heating Systems» that I found to be very helpful.

These guys are amazing! Needed them to come to the house on super short notice. I spoke to the owner of the business(Dave) and he promised to have a technician out to our house asap. Tony was the technician that came to the house. Tony was amazing!!! He was very friendly, informative, and great to work with! Their prices were very reasonable! I would definitely recommend the company!
