Best burger, consistently good! New to the area and had a number of friends come visit last weekend and this one. Enjoyed the delicious burger and crispy straw like fries. The bun was fresh, but crisped to perfection on a grill and smelled of smoke. The burger, ordered«medium,» was similarly smokey, had a nicely seasoned crust and juicy inside. I also liked the friendly environment and bartender. Took another friend there last night and the experience was even better. More crowded on a Friday night with the dubs playing on their big screen TVs than middle of the week, but food comes up fast, hot, and well worth whatever I paid for it! Order your food and drink at the bar. Food is delivered to the table if busy and there is extra staff. During the week, you can pick it up at the bar. Casual atmosphere, and great outdoor seating.

Sweet little hotel right in the heart of Glen Ellen. I’ve been doing some work on my place and we’ve stayed here. The pool area is really cool — right off the creek. This isn’t a luxurious place, the rooms are very simple and slightly nicer than a motel room but it’s very affordable and fun.

The room was so clean, new, and well-designed. The hotel is situated in a quaint town only 20 minutes from the plaza. Beautiful gardens and pool area. There’s also food and bars right next door so you won’t need to drive. Highly recommend it!

Sweetest little lodge in Glen Ellen! Rooms are quaint, roomy and clean. Beds are comfy with nice fluffy comforters. We only stayed for one night but we would definitely stay here again! Close to lots of wine tasting rooms, a market and other eateries. Bar right next to parking lot if you want to stay out late :) Kenwood is just up the road with lots of larger wineries to visit too. Loved this place and we got a great price using Groupon!!!

Went in on a weekday afternoon, it was a very relaxed environment. I had the«best in Sonoma burger» it was delicious. My partner loved his BLT, and our IPA’s were delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

I liked the atmosphere of this place. The staff was friendly and it was super easy to find. My only issue is that the room smelled horrible when my boyfriend and I first walked in. We had to leave the windows open for a bit. Also, the list of TV channels was totally wrong, which was pretty annoying. Not to mention that there was no carpet in the room. I would recommend bringing warm thick socks or slippers. Other than that everything was great.

Local hangout with a few tourists sprinkled in. Cool atmosphere. Food comes from Wolf House Restaurant next door. The grilled chicken Caesar was very good as was the basil pesto grilled chicken sandwich. Great by-the-glass wine selections from local wineries… duh. Feel free to overindulge in the free popcorn… we did!

Staying one night here for getting way weekend. It is a lodge. Yes, it is. The room is not modern, everything is old but working conditions. You can hear everything around you since the wall is thin and the windows are facing out the parking lot. The door is locked by the key, not a card slide like the hotel. We had a funny incident that someone was putting the key in the slot and opened our door(we are not sure if we have forgotten to lock it or that man’ s key could open our door). He was so shocked to see us, luckily, we were sitting on the bed talking!!! Not thing else… He apologized and left. I think he went into the wrong room. The front dest receptionist was very nice. She is Catherine. The surrounding is very nice, well kept, a lot of tree and flower. It is a nice place with the country atmosphere. The rate was very reasonable.

I was in town for a friend’s wedding. I’m the type of person that can hang with anyone — all walks of life. We walked in and sat down at the bar ready for a drink. The one and only bartender on a Saturday night was rude and inhospitable. Also he was coughing, sneezing, and sniffling. Clearly this old guy didn’t want to serve us because we weren’t townies. Excuse me but who doesn’t want to make money at their bar/restaurant?! We got up and walked out. I don’t think I’ve ever done that. Ever. Went up the block to Glen Ellen Inn. They were super friendly and treated us like rock stars. Don’t waste your time at the saloon.

Recommended by a local and I can see why. The food is superb, prices are very reasonable, and the portions are definitely not seen in the City. Most importantly, we have had the opportunity to make friends with Micky the bartender. She is warm, friendly, and has a great sense of humor. I hate t recommend this place because I am afraid we won’t get a seat at the bar. It get’s crazy busy! Best chicken wings(Benito style) and Burgers. Make sure you don’t order them overcooked so that you can taste what quality meat tastes like.

I love the bartenders! Food is great! Stop by either for a quick drink or bite to eat. Or end the evening with a game of pool and watching the game!

Descriptive phrase: townie bar with a touch of class. Jack London Saloon is one of the only bars in the high-end/rural dichotomy in this part of Sonoma County, and therefore it draws all types. I was there two nights in a row for wedding events and left with great impressions. The prices seemed to vary depending on the bartender, but ranged from dirt cheap to what I expected. The space is inviting, and the locals are cheery. The back patio was a fantastic spot for an event, and the food/drink/service was on point. Great little spot.

I know it’s just a bar but this bar/restaurant was the exclusive caterer for the Jack London Lodge, so we had to go there to follow up with our event inquiry about renting the patio of the Lodge. Horrible customer service, we were ignored the entire time we were there by the blonde bartender — even after making eye contact with her. Apparently she was too busy amusing the four regulars who were taking up all of her time. We even sat down and waited for menus but no one ever came around to help us. We finally walked outside to see the event space. The patio was beautiful; really a hidden gem of an event venue. However, with such terrible service, there is no way I would trust their staff with handling any special events.

Not a huge menu, and there were only 2 people working on a Saturday(one of which spoke little to no English… we made it work between the 4 of us in the party). The garlic fries and chicken taco appetizers were simple but tasty. The mountain of fries had lots of garlic and came with a side of mayonnaise… I guess this is normal? The outdoor patio was large and comfortable. The Saloon is positioned alongside a little creek so the ambient noise from that and a fountain was really nice. There are lots of trees to keep the sun off of you in case you cannot get an umbrella. I loved that they are open late! We went in the early afternoon, but it was nice to know they were open until 2am.

I can see why this place gets the reviews it does. As ‘outsiders’, we were basically ignored, which was fine with me. This is obviously a spot more for locals as everyone knew each other and they did seem to sneer at non-locals. However, having said that, I had a fun time. We were served relatively quickly and they have a good selection of wine and beer. The room is very lodge-y and kind of comfy and you can have popcorn while you sit. I saw some people eating and the food looked pretty good(though Glen Ellen seems to be full of good restaurants). Staff was friendly enough, but friendlier to those they knew. However, it was fun and a good spot to just sit, have a drink and chat for a while(and watch the shenanigans of those that seemed to be locals all hitting on each other… not totally sure, but that’s what it looked like to us). If you don’t want to go somewhere fancy for a good drink and a nice atmosphere, definitely stop in here for it’s laid-back vibe, good drink selection and great pricing.

Beautiful old brick building in downtown Glen Ellen with a fun saloon atmosphere complete with stained glass, historic photos, a juke box, pool tables, and a gorgeous antique bar. Awesome female bartender made our night fun. I didn’t pay for one drink thanks to the male patrons who were there last night. Thanks guys! This bar is a great place to hang out, and Glen Ellen is a gem.

BUSINESSOFTHEYEAR, 2014 I am as close to a local as it gets for someone who lives in Los Angeles: I lived in Sonoma until 18, my parents still live there, and I come up to visit a few times a year. I usually stay at the Sonoma Creek Inn because it’s inexpensive and centrally located, but I have found a new first choice: This place is all kinds of amazing. Gorgeous pool; large, comfortable rooms, decent breakfast and a very friendly staff. But the two things that are truly remarkable are the price($ 125/night during the on-season?!) and the location: bordering the Sonoma Creek and nestled in a copse of oak trees: romantic, secluded and everything that Sonoma Valley should be. Where have you been all my life, Jack London Lodge? Bonus points for a next door bar: who needs to drink and drive when you can pound a few back and then stagger to your room?! And as if that’s not enough, it’s walking distance from at least three top-notch restaurants and one of the best markets in the world(Glen Ellen Village Market).

We pulled into this history-steeped bar/restaurant after a walk in nearby Jack London State Park. Local wines and brews are available at the full bar. Although we didn’t get to try the food, our bartendress(Crystal) chatted with us, pointed out many of the historic photos around the bar and adjoining pool room, and gave us a nice intro to the surrounding area and its history. We especially liked the expansive shaded deck overlooking the creek and decided we’ll have to come back soon for dinner on the deck!
