Orchard Laundromat

HORRIBLE ! If I could give 0 stars I would.
This place was great when it first opened. It’s been steadily getting worse since then. The machines are poorly maintained and always some issue with them.
Will never go again after tonight.
LAUNDROMAT:
I always wash bedding in hot water. Fill and start up washers and we noticed NO HOT WATER. No sign, no one mentions it when we come in.
–spoke to attendant. Says it’s been an issue, come back tomorrow if I want hot or warm water.
While loading into dryers… I noticed
Washer– high pitch screeching. Told attendant there was an issue she doesn’t seem to care. Mentioned there should be a sign or she should let people know… also regarding hot water as they come in. She said she just worked there and couldn’t do anything. She said she spoke to her boss cause we were unhappy and then put in 5 quarters for 3 of the dryers. I spent $ 50 tonight total…
I live close enough that I can go home between wash, dry etc. I came back the place smelt like burnt rubber. It’s coming from the dryer I have laundry in. All soaking wet, I told the attendant again and she says to move it and she puts some quarters in. I now have to wait another at 32 minutes for my stuff to dry. No sign goes up for the dryer that is not drying clothes or the washer that seemed like it was going to blow up at any second. She just didn’t seem to care. They normally put signs up when something isn’t working. There were signs up for other things like the 3 washers that weren’t working, and the 2 dryers that were ‘not hot’.
DROP OFF: I’ve dropped my laundry off once only. They lost half my clothes. They eventually found the missing clothes (about 15 articles of clothing) but only after I called numerous times, went there twice, had to dig through their lost and found.

I went to this laundromat at 930 pm. The door was locked and I saw a woman sweeping the floor. I knocked on the door a few times but she didn’t come to the door. The laundromat was supposed to be open until 11 so I didn’t think to call. I ended up wasting a trip as no other laundromat was open late enough.

A wonderful laundry mat in the town of Glen Cove. My wife and I do our wash there exclusively after trying what the town had to offer. Lots of space to spread out, tons of machines, and a friendly staff. I think they are running some specials right now (Dec 2013) for free soap for each machine, so check with the attendant.
Clean, safe, new, well-​maintained.
