My car let me down, so I called for a tow. He said that charges $ 85/tow + $ 3.00/mile. I wanted to see how far the distance is so I used my iPhone to estimate the distance and shows 46 miles, so he charged for 46 miles. He said that I could pay 1st, and he would charge me based on my phone millage reading. He did not take credit card, wanted cash or check. We went to the bank for my to get cash. Next day I checked the millage in my computer since it seemed too many miles, and it turns out that the iPhone was wrong, and that the actual miles was 31.8 miles. I called and explain, and they said that it was over. They said that we agreed to a price and I cannot change my mind now that they towed the car. I said that we agreed to $ 85/tow and $ 3.00/mile, and it would be fair for me to pay the actual miles which they did, and not my iPhone reading. I told them that they are professionals and they are supposed to measure the actual distance and charge me for what is fair. They did not want to hear. They got some extra money and it seems that is what matter.
