As someone who has shopped at many Tractor Supply locations, I was surprised and disappointed by the total and complete lack of customer service and the attitude of the employees and management in this location. I stopped into this store for the first time today, and was impressed with the layout and the amount of space that they have. This location was formerly a Wal*Mart store, and it has now be subdivided into several different stores with Tractor Supply on the end where the garden center once was. I looked around for a bit, and picked up some spray paint that I needed for a project. I walked up to the front of the store and there was no one at the cash register. I stood there for several minutes and a clerk in view looked at me several times, but said nothing. She finally came over towards the register pushing a cart with something on it. I had left the paint on the counter and was walking out the door when she walked by me, still not saying a word. I told her that her lack of acknowledgment of a customer was the reason I was leaving the store and would never return to that location. She replied with an attitude«I was helping him, he was here first!» I never said that I should have been ahead of a customer who was at the register first(even though there was no one there when I got there) but rather that her ignoring a customer at the register was the problem. I then asked her to get the manager. She said she would call the manager, but she had called her previously and she had not responded, apparently in the hope that I would just leave. The manager did come up, with no sense of urgency, actually stopping to straighten merchandise on her way to the front. I explained what had happened, and her only response was she would«have a conversation with her before the end ot the day» She did not seem concerned that a customer had been ignored, nor did she offer to do anything to try to make it right. When I told her that her response meant that I would be calling the corporate office, she then asked me «What do you expect me to do?». Her attitude and the total lack of concern for the customer is a reason to avoid this particular location.
