Check your bank statement after you go! They increased the tip amount. I purposely tipped low because I thought the service was weak… they really try to push the drinks… I just wanted water, and no refill on the salsa… two days later I checked my bank statement and saw they increased my tip amount by $ 2.

This place is amazing! I would definitely classify myself and my husband as foodies. We come here regularly and generally get the enchiladas with mole sauce and ropa vieja. The mole sauce is specifically impressive. The plantains are delicious as well. It is a laid back atmosphere with friendly service and a great place to take kids. The margaritas are delicious! It is the best ethnic food we have found in the area without question.

I really can’t grasp many of the negative reviews, particularly the ones saying that it was reheated frozen food. I’ve been here a few times, and have always been impressed with their food. If you’re expecting the typically American-ized food typical in many restaurants, you will be disappointed. If you’re looking for authenticity, for food that isn’t drowned in excessive processed cheese, you will be disappointed. What you will find here is a variety of foods from Mexico and other Latin American countries, with a delicate balance of flavors, and great margaritas.

Loved it! I will be back. I had a burrito and a margarita — both were great. Next to Mission Bbq.

This is real Mexican/Latin American food. They make everything from scratch. I’m writhing this review before the main course arrives. My chip and salsa are great. The shrimp appetizer Garlic shrimp excellent. To bad the wife is missing out.

Had this bookmarked for some time and finally made it for lunch. What a nice surprise. The cuisine is Honduran influenced and very good. We tried the more traditional dishes and we’re not disappointed. Try the Yucca con chicharo and the Baleada. Yum!!!

Started off with a mojito and the fried yucca app. Yucca was yucca and there isn’t really much you can do to ruin yucca. But it came with chunks of crispy pork that were cooked perfectly and topped with this slightly sweet but tangy sauce. The best I have ever had. We also got a pepper stuffed with beef and topped with this sweet and creamy sauce. A flavor profile unlike anything I have ever had and my wife and I both have been craving ever since. If you call yourself a man then you have to get the lamb shank. Impressive size hunk of meat that slow cooked and meat falling off the bone. Just the right amount of heat but not overpowering. We also had the a fish dish that was topped with creamy chipotle sauce. For those that aren’t too adventurous they have chimichangas and enchiladas that are better than your average Latino joint. I see some complaints about their chips and salsa, funny how people complain about something that is free. I agree that the chips lack salt, but I think that maybe that is planned. As a former chef you never want to put out the first food item and over power them and salt and spice. In short, Each time I have been I am putting it up as one of the best meals I have ever had in my life.

Okay, I don’t get it. Four and a half stars?! My friend and I were extremely disappointed. We started with beer and wine, and the server brought us chips and salsa. The chips were warm, but oily and tasted slightly rancid, as if they were made with old frying oil. There was also no salt on the chips, and when we added salt, it didn’t stick — you have to salt them right out of the fryer, guys, come one! The salsa was made with lackluster tomatoes and also needed seasoning. We ordered guacamole, hoping it would be better, but no – again, bad tomatoes, no salt and poor-quality chips. At this point we should have just left, but stuck it out for the entrees. We both ordered the house salad with tilapia. The greens were indeed«mixed» — a mixture of iceberg lettuce and bruised mesclun mix. Huge chunks of roasted onion and pepper, plus the large tilapia filet, further destroyed the salad beneath. Everything was greasy but underseasoned, just like the chips. I actually didn’t ask for any of my uneaten food to go – I knew it would be even less appetizing the next day and didn’t want to waste the packaging. Two stars instead of one because the interior was clean and charming and our server was cordial; my friend and I had a lot of catching up to do and stayed until we were the last table in the place. Once we realized our server had disappeared and they were closing down, we paid and left. I would go out of my way to avoid a return meal here, though for drinks it might be okay.

I’m not going to rehash the experience we had here because it was just like our experience at the Annapolis Sin Fronteras… pretty dreadful to be frank. Same disgusting prefrozen and reheated food… chewy seafood… flavorless entrees… grey chicken. I mean the chicken in barbacoa sauce was completely grey, dried out, and absent of any flavor other than fish. Yes… you heard me right. Fishy grey chicken. No thanks, not worth a 3rd try.

Simply the best in town. I haven’t had anything I didn’t like and all entrees I had are simply fresh and not over filling.

OYE, this place is awesome! Simply some of the best food in the area — I have visited their sister location multiple times in Annapolis and the service and food quality is the same here — muy bueno! My girlfriend tried the enchiladas with house-made mole — very very flavorful and perfectly prepared. For myself, I went for the chicharron in green salsa — pork belly with tomatillo sauce — which was very flavorful, well proportioned, and pretty damn addictive to eat! Also, the starter chip and salsa were very fresh, not too salty, and just the right amount of crunch in the chips and spiciness in the salsa for my girl friend and I to devour the small basket we got. Customer service is top notch, drinks are made well and with fresh ingredients, and their cerveza menu offers more options than some of the neighboring restaurants. It is also to be noted that their website indicates they have been recognized for the best«margaritas in Annapolis» and more than likely will be just as good at this location(didn’t try one this time, but I can support their claim, they are pretty good). Only downside for myself is trying to find this location — based on google maps, it states this restaurant is located in the middle of the shopping center — however, it is right next door to Mission BBQ — this can make parking very difficult on a weekend or around dinner time. 5 stars — you need to check this place out ASAP!

Unfortunately, I didn’t have the amazing experience that many others had. My food was not great at all. I love South American food, but this place didn’t really do it for me. I actually wanted tacos so I ordered the three taco plate. When it came, it was more like huge taquitos… I got carnitas, shrimp and beef. I think what happened was they made the meat in the shell, rolled it up and then baked it in the oven on super high heat. So what I got was charred hard and crispy meat inside of taco roll under a bed of shredded cabbage and«guacamole sauce». On top of that everything wasn’t flavored properly, no taste at all. The red sangria was just OK. It had grapefruit in it. Who puts bitter grapefruit in sangria? Not worth $ 8. I was looking forward to the food here, it sucks that I was totally let down. Giving 2* because the waiter was helpful and attentive.

This place is so good. The drinks are good, food is great, and the service is wonderful. I highly suggest the ahi tuna. Also, don’t leave until you’ve had the banana tempura. Holy crap. I don’t even like bananas but that dessert is the most amazing thing I’ve ever eaten. Definitely check the place out.

My girlfriend and I decided to try this place after I saw it on Unilocal.Definitely not disappointed! Good food, great service, and an affordable menu. My girlfriend had the Chili Relleno with Tomatillo Sauce(excellent) and I opted for Chicken Enchiladas with Mole(excellent as well). Really good guacamole! We will definitely be back. This place is awesome!

We frequent the Annapolis location and I must say that this location might even be BETTER. It’s almost equidistant for me, but they killed it. Roja Vieja was superb. TRY this place. You will not be disappointed.

So glad they opened a location closer to my house than the Annapolis one. Great, authentic food, amazing service, for a good price. They serve food from all over the Caribbean, Central and South America, my favorite is the mamajuana pork chop. It’s located next to Mission BBQ.
