Cicis

My visit to Cicis at this location will be my last. The people were friendly and the food was fine, actually enjoyed the new pizzas they offer but I am trying not to think about my food being prepared in such a dirty environment. It was disgusting. The walls were filthy with food, the floors had layers of dirt and the booths were not clean at all. Also, many of the plates need replaced, they were an off blackish yellow color. I’m glad they went to plastic silverware because at least it has not been used before. Surprisingly they have not been shut down, can’t think they would pass an inspection. There were only a few people there. I think if they cleaned that place up they would have more customers. Its a shame because I really would like to go back.

Sad to see this place slowly go downhill. I’m guessing they have new owners or simply don’t care as much as they used to.
Here are how things have declined:
Disposable everything– When we first went here, they had plastic cups and «real» silverware (not plastic). Now, you throw everything in the trash except your plate. While it may save them some money, I can’t help but think about the environmental impact.
Individual packets of cheese/​pepper– Seriously?! What was wrong with the shakers? That’s what makes me feel like I’m in a pizza joint.
Napkins– no longer at your table, instead there are two stations at the buffet line– might be another near the drinks, I forget). So if you forget, like I often do, then you’ll need to make a second trip up. Why is it so bad having them on the table?
Busers/​table cleaners– The same guy was always there cleaning tables and taking dishes. Since they started their «improvements» (read: cost savings), he has not been around. He was a true asset to Cici’s, a very friendly, helpful person who was great with customers. He would take a few minutes during one of his rounds to stop by our table and say «hi» to my toddler. It is this type of atmosphere Cici’s is losing by adopting their new philosophy, in my opinion.
Higher prices– Still not going to break the bank, but I can remember a time when it was under $ 6 and sometimes even $ 5 if you found a coupon. Not anymore :/​
Wasteful– I watched as an employee threw half a pizza away because the next one was ready. This seemed totally unnecessary and against their new cost saving approach. They had only been open for a max of 2 hours at this point, so it wasn’t like the pizza had been sitting around all day.
The food quality is still good, but it is a shame that Cici’s is but a shell of its former self.

Went there for lunch with my grandaughters. It was disgusting. The buffet had 3 slices of pizza on one tray and 1 slice each on the others. Salad was awful. Salad dressing containers looked like they were dirty. I didn’t even use them. I was afraid to let the girls eat anything. They each ate half a slice of cheese pizza and we left and went to Burger King. Pretty bad when Burger King was a better choice!!!
We won’t return.

This place used to be great and the manager used to always be in the front and really seem to take pride in the restaurant. This has drastically changed. It is now filthy inside. The plates are very dirty with large pieces of food stuck to them. Like half dollar large, not little pieces. There is almost no selection of pizza and what is avalible is dried out and nasty. The red onions at the salad bar are now brown. The salad dressing bottles look like they haven’t been cleaned in a year, just topped off and never actually cleaned. The tables have been pushed through the walls leaving several holes in the drywall all over. The paint is peeling off and scraped up all over near the tables. The cushions on the chairs are shot with holes in them. There is cheese stuck to the walls which has obviously been there a while. I sent an email to cicis and then spoke with the manager on the phone. He offered me free buffet coupons and did not seem to understand when I told him that I don’t want to eat here even if it is free due to it being so dirty. I’m sure if the health department checks in they will shut cicis in Glen Burnie down. This is not the great place it once was which is sad. Don’t waste your money and get sick from eating here.

I need to knock this down a peg. Cici’s corporate is tryign to squeeze some extra profit out of the restaurant… some updates since I was here last year:
1. the price for adults (kids over 10) is now $ 6.49
2. you have to self-​bus your table, not a big deal but kind of annoying
3. plastic ‘silverware’
We did ask for a specialty pizza today and they brought it out prompty to our table. It’s pretty much the same food, with some new kinds of flatbread pizza.

If I could leave less than one star then I would. Horrible horrible experience!!! Food was horrible, but what can you except for the price you payed for? The only decent thing about this place was the lady charging people up! Never returning!

This was my second time ever being here, first time on a weekend and it was packed! Nevertheless, I was able to find a nice clean seating area to sit down and be able to enjoy a nice, inexpensive meal. As I made my rounds of getting the items that interested me I noticed the BBQ pizza had chicken so I was a bit upset I would not be able to try it. The manager, Javier, immediately rushed a custom order of an entire whole BBQ pizza with meat and delivered it to me at my seat. Not only did he go above and beyond… he did something I did not expect at all… he remembered me from my previous visit which was extraordinary to me considering I have only been there once but this manager pays attention to those who comes into the store and recognizes the loyalty of his customers and returns it with love. This manager has so much vibrant and bright energy it makes an average buffet feel like an actual restaurant! I thought I was alone, perhaps maybe he was treating specifically me different but I sat down and watched him as he continued to go above and beyond for all of his customers by giving custom orders, to-​go boxes if you can’t finish, greets everyone individually, holds doors open, helps out the cleaning crew/​cashier/​cooks/​management and he does everything with a smile on his face. Towards the end I was waiting for an apple pizza pie to come out, he asked me what I was waiting for and told me to have a seat and he will personally bring it out for us. He not only brought it out but he went above and beyond, bringing out a fresh brand new tray for my table and napkins. As I was leaving I told Javier bye and thanked him for everything and he had a huge smile on his face and stated «be sure to come again, we will always take care of our customers».The manager, Javier, is absolutely amazing! I have never had such absolutely amazing service from any food industry such as the service that Javier has displayed tonight. Just the management/​service here alone has made such a huge impression on me about this place, I will be coming again! Not for the affordable delicious buffet, not for the military discount and not for the fun environment. but for the wonderful service I have been receiving constantly from the hardest working person I have ever seen in the industry. This man was amazing, we need more people like this in the workplace! Going above and beyond goes a LONG way! Be sure to reward these employees and continue to recognize their impact in the workplace because people such as Javier deserves it!

I don’t have high expectations when I go to Cici’s, but this location has gone down hill.
The first things I noticed upon arrival is that the silverware has been replaced with plastic utensils, and that the mini carrots in the salad bar were so dry they looked white.
When I got to the buffet there was no mac and cheese pizza which a disappointment because this is my favorite from Cici’s and unique to their chain, too. Unfortunately they never made any the entire time we were there.
As we ate, my son and I realized they no longer bus the tables. This isn’t the end of the world, but it’s pretty standard for a buffet. Then I noticed the garbage area. It was overflowing. And there was a bottle of cleaner there too. I guess it is the customer’s responsibility to clean their table.
In fact, we realized there were only two employees in the restaurant. Despite this, they had time to have a conversation as one of them leaned on the buffet over the cinnamon rolls. Yuck! If only they had used that time to empty the garbage.
I was so disappointed I responded to the survey on my receipt. The manager did respond and offered to mail me coupons for two free buffets if I provided my address. The email I got in return read like a form letter and didn’t bother to address my particular concerns.

Although the cleanliness has improved since I was last here, they are no longer the cici’s I liked. The kitchen staff is like totally gross. I saw a Mexican lady eat food where the food is prepared then proceed to put fresh food out without washing her hands after putting them in her mouth. I’m sorry but that is nasty as hell. The manager also was letting his kids run around and do what they want which is a safety hazard… this is plain ridiculous

This location is by far one of the cleanest and nicest I’ve been to. Pizza is always hot and fresh. Would give it 5 stars, but the variety is very basic– pepperoni, cheese, meat lovers, and alfredo. But overall I highly recommend if you want a cheap night out for the family. Also the game room is pretty nice for the kiddos.

Why 2 stars instead of 1, you may ask? Because I knew what I was getting myself into. It was one of those days where cheap, $ 5 buffet pizza was called for, and I answered. Did I expect them to have absolutely no silverware? Or for the bussers to take our drinks when we went for seconds in the buffet line? Or to have abysmal selections that day? Maybe… because I spent $ 6 for all I could stuff in my face pizza and «salad» and dessert pizza and maybe even salad pizza. It’s a cici’s… what do you want? It worked for the purpose at hand, even if that purpose is to remind me that I so very rarely want cici’s.

Still searching for good eats, and getting adjusted to our new home, we found out that there was a CiCi’s Pizza not to far from the house. We had been making plans to take the kids to CiCi’s, but were only familiar with the Rockville Location. So we were excited to find the one in Glen Burnie, because it’s just down the street.
When we arrived we were greeted by the cashier, and another gentlemen (would was really animated, and out going). We all got the buffet. However we saw the price for the wings and decided we’d get a order of wings as well.
The restaurant itself is pretty clean. The food is decent, and the staff is very friendly. We hit the buffet for pizza while waiting for the wings to come. The kids really like trying the different flavors of pizza. The best part of the whole experience for me and my lady though were the wings. Not only were they cheap, but they are really good. We ordered the mild wings, and they were perfect. Just a kick of spice, and not overly sauced.
After we finished, we received an equally enthusiastic goodbye from the gentlemen working throughout the store (as he had done for everyone who had either entered or exited the restaurant since our arrival), and not to forget that he led (literally) the WHOLE restaurant in singing happy birthday to a young girl who was there with her family for her birthday.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys good pizza, and really good wings. Great Job!

I totally have to change my review! Tonight we had fantastic service, particularly from the man who was cleaning the tables. He took particular care to make sure our special orders arrived properly. When one did not arrive (the other two were fine), without being asked he put it in a box for us to take home. Air conditioning worked fine and pizzas were hot and fresh. Only two dessert pizzas were offered, instead of the usual three. Salad dressings are easier to reach.

I can see giving Cici’s Pizza few to no stars, but to be fair they have zeroed in on a successful business model and it’s not a bad one. I found the pizza average, but it tasted like pizza and it had a crispy crust. We came for the buffet, and while there was not a huge variation among the pizza selection, they did have a pasta selection as well as soup and salad. The price point is what pushes them up a star, because I don’t know anywhere else in town you can get a salad with that many ingredients that cheaply. Kids will clearly love this place, as will anyone on a tight budget.

Rounded up family last second to meet here for my daughter’s birthday. (Not a planned event through the store.) One of the managers came up and had the whole restaurant sing to her. That was really cool! The only reason they didn’t get five stars from me is the food is just OK, and the tables were cruddy. We’ve been many times and never had a problem here.

For all The Pizza lovera out there… you’ve got to try CiCi Pizza! Not that fresh and and savory but still AWSOME for pizza lovers. The staff was friendly however they did have an Hispanic taking orders that didn’t understand much English

Okay so this is actually my son saying this place is really good it has got pasta, salads, pizza and yeah that’s basically it so I just thought that they could clean up the place in the morning though because last time I went to the bathroom the toilet flooded all over the place and I never even got to go to the bathroom! So overall it’s pretty good especially the stuffed crust pizza I also like their pasta with marinara or Alfredo I just wish they would let you have more choices on pasta though. Also dessert there is great they have brownies, Apple pie shaped like pizza and so much more than that so for the last time it is great !!!

I was glad to see manager came upto the table and asked about the whole experience. No one is perfect so that is why i took away one star but overall its good

This was the first time I visited this place and I will never return. The staff (Jesse) confirmed our reservation via phone for the private room but, when we arrived, we were informed by another manager named Esmeralda that our time was pushed up an hour (without notifying us). Furthermore, Esmeralda was completely nonchalant about the situation, and became visibly agitated when we wanted to speak with her about adjusting the time. If it wasn’t for the kindness and accommodation of Javier, we would have asked for a refund, and left immediately. Yes, the cost of the food is reasonable, but unless you’re dealing with Javier, FIND ANOTHER PIZZA PLACE.

They deliver on what they promise — hot fresh pizza, variety, fresh salad, friendly staff, clean tables, and easy on the wallet.
This place was packed (again) with families on a Friday night.
The old manager, Jesse, is back after a two year absence.
