Frequent visitor over the years… but never again! Yesterday we sat on the patio, party of 5 and was charged for overpriced dinner and they lied and it should have been lunch prices, after 3 small hairs on Flatbread pizza, 3 mistakes by server Weston, I asked to speak to manager for a refund or even an apology, nothing! The hostess just starred at me and said nobody could open the till and the manager was sick??? So nobody competent could help??? I’m still waiting for a call… just furious!

This place is the worst! I love mussels and usually try them anywhere they are on the menu, and these were the worst I have ever had. Tiny and dried up. Pizza looked and tasted frozen, Fish was bland. Do yourself a favor, save your money and go elsewhere.

No greeting, until about 10 minutes(!!!) went by. A family leaving and a general announcement that if we had a reservation, which we did, that it would be about 20 min. Noticed another couple at the bar, realized they didn’t have a drink, they said that they had been there a half hour. Lastly, a group walked in, while we were calling other places to eat, and warned by the couple at the bar how long they had been there waiting, and«This place never changes» is what one guy said. We went up to the Boone Dock’s…that was out second time there. We had good service the first time there and this second time was ok. I liked the food but the prices seemed very high there. Skip the WAG for sure!

Very slow. Been here with family now over 1.5 hours and still haven’t received entrees. Been here many times before. Food is above average and service is usually below average and it finally bothered me enough to post this.

The lobster bisque taste like old dish water. The mussels were cold and full of grit. Tiny portion of white fish highly over priced with a pushy staff that talks even worse about this place. Nice building but that is about it. Do yourself a favor, walk across the street to Art’s and order the clams or something from the grill, much happier people that are fun to spend dinner with.

It’s hard to review this restaurant because I really wanted to like it. Staff was friendly, but service was very slow and the food quality mixed. Filet mignon sliders were very good, wine pour generous, blackened whitefish just okay and wedge salad small and yellow(for $ 9!). After getting the bill and seeing it is $ 3 to substitute veg for fries, we probably won’t be back for a second visit.

I really dislike giving a one star review, but I have no choice here. If you can avoid this restaurant, please do. Take your money elsewhere where you can enjoy your meal and service that should go along with it. Parmigian crusted white fish was awful! It came with soggy potatoes and nothing else on the plate. Plate looked like chef absolutely hates his job. Add a veggie, curly parsley? Anything green or with color? For almost 18 bucks a pop you sure can make it bit more presentable and maybe a bit more tasty??? Service sucked. That’s all I’m going to say. Poor girl had a hatred in her eyes when she approached the table. Took her about 20 min to bring us a check when we told her that we are a hurry. Never again I would go into a restaurant without checking Unilocal first. Yuck and yuck!

Stopped by here for dinner after climbing the sleeping bear dunes… The restaurant was pretty busy but we got seated at the bar quickly. The service however, was very slow. I don’t blame the waitress though. She was in charge of everything in the bar area… It took about an hour to get our food, but the food was amazing. We ordered the baby back ribs and parmesan whitefish. Both were amazing and I would recommend them :). We ordered the crab in an avocado as a starter which was meh… don’t think it was worth the money.

Quite good, I’d say. We each had soup; lobster bisque and butternut squash. The squash won by a claw. Then we split a salad of baby spring greens and baby spinach with toasted pecans and sliced apples, along with panco coated warm goat cheese. Very yummy. Then shared the pesto chicken flatbread. I really don’t think our palettes nor our judgement were altered by the three Moscow mules. In fact, I choose to believe it cleared them of sand from the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes.

The warm artichoke dip was delicious. It was on a bed of warm, baked pita chips then covered with yummy mozzarella, parmesan cheese, and baked cherry tomatoes. Definitely enough to share. They have a decent selection of wine from local TC wine to Australian to Italian. I tried a bottle of the Southeast Australian Insurrection Shiraz-Cabernet blend and it was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly. Sat up at the bar watching the Tigers game and sipping wine. Not a bad way to spend an rainy summer evening.

The food was good but the service was terrible. We had a reservation for 6:30 pm and expected to get out by 7:45pm to catch a sunset. We made the sunset by the skin of our teeth. For two people it shouldn’t have taken over an hour to prepare one app, one entrée, a soup, and a salad(we split everything because it’s pretty expensive too). The waitress never checked in with us to tell us that things were slow or to apologize, which was the nail in the coffin. I understand things get busy, but it would be good to check in with your guests to let them know they weren’t forgotten. I would give it another chance because the food was good, but if you are in a hurry, avoid.

Good food. Pricey. Goat cheese salad. Was very good. It was a bit small portion though. No lobster bisque. Which was very disappointing as that was listed as a special on the board. Everyone’s meal was very good but like I said overall it was extremely pricey

Don’t be fooled by picky elitist guests that don’t understand the food business. Out of all the restaurants in town, WA has the best quality food. With exception to the ceaser dressing everything is MADEINHOUSE. Chef does an excellent job with steaks and seafood dishes. For a local flavor, try the whitefish(blackened is my fav). Perch is another delicious local dish. My only criticism is that they should bring back the duck in cherry sauce(wow!). Don’t be scared to try the Lobster Roll, I’ve been to Maine and Boston many times and this dish is on point. Also…for a delicious breakfast, go to western ave!

We’ve eaten dinner at all of the restaurants in Glen Arbor and I definitely think western avenue grill has the best food. It was our 4th time eating here and we have loved everything every time we’ve been in. This last time, however, we sat at the bar to grab a much needed beer and a bite to eat and moved to a table about 30 seconds after sitting down because the bartender(older gentleman with glasses and a bad attitude) was such a douchebag. Literally your only job is to smile, be friendly, and serve drinks. Get it together. By looking at other reviews I see I am not the only person that feels this way. Maybe you guys are in need of a replacement. I’m still giving this place 4 stars because the food is so good. Definitely stop in here, just don’t sit at the bar.

The only restaurant in Glen Arbor that accepts both reservations and children! Always good, never stellar. Friendly service, and a fun birch-tree and maritime décor. Parking lot parking, right off the main drag. Special dishes such as whitefish and walleye are great, though I found some bones in my walleye. The drinks are great, and generously poured here. Best of all, they ACCEPTCREDITCARDS. Art’s Tavern across the street does not, and they sure as heck can’t take a reservation!
