Kind of expensive for hot dogs — $ 10 for two chili dogs with cheese which were somewhat small. Cute place though.

Small stand. Had a hard time finding it. Wait was unbearable. One guy working inside. Nice Chicago themed sports décor. Had the Chicago style dog with fries. Was good but not worth the wait. Probably waited 20 minutes to place and order because there were a few people ahead of us. If there is no line, I recommend. If there is, skip it.

Just what your looking for. Killer dogs & atmosphere. Top shelf snappers on poppyseed rolls with the best toppings. Not just another stupid bologna tube in a cheap white bread bun. Also! When I was there they were playing old times blues music. Loved every little bit of it. Recommended.

Came here with my mom… We were craving hot dogs. Got the Chicago Dog, Polish Dog, and Fries! It was fast, fresh, and delicious :). The fries are a must, quite a big serving of yummy crisp fries.

Stopped today on our way to the dunes. Good dogs. Chicago style is the way to go. Fries are excellent too. Not too pricey, good food, a great lunch with family.

My husband and I LOVE a great hotdog… and this was just okay. We came up to Glen Arbor on a family vaca and couldn’t wait to try out the cute dog stand. The experience was just… pretty average. The service was okay… the man serving wasn’t very personable. The hot dog seemed pretty average itself… honestly, nothing you couldn’t make at home in your own kitchen. Sorry, dune dogs. Nothing special here.

This is a very legit food truck with some seriously good Chicago dogs. I loved the hot dog and man, the fries served with it were delicious. I love when fries are properly salted and these were salty, crispy… perfect. The proprietor knows how to put out solid food; and certainly this place should be visited over Boone Dock’s. Get your Corona or Bud Light Lime after. And, the two ladies excitedly enjoying corn dogs on two adirondack chairs out front were about as cute as it gets.

Hot dogs were okay. I got the Chicago Style and it was decent. Normal hot dog with your pickle, relish, peppers on an onion style bun. Fries were a 9⁄10 on my scale. Fresh cut and deliciously hot!

We loves us our Dune Dogs! The Chicago dogs have the right ingredients and are in a real poppy-seed bun — hard to find here in Michigan — and measure right up to the dogs we enjoyed on Navy Pier… and we can eat them in the charming little village of Glen Arbor, next to the wonderful Sleeping Bear Dunes. This is a seasonal food cart with a few picnic tables under a tent — nothin’ fancy — but when we’re in the area we usually stop here for a quick lunch. You can also order other iterations of hot dog, fries and the like. Grab lunch here, then wander across the main drag to the Pine Cone for ice cream.

When I see someone proclaiming they have Chicago style hot dogs anywhere outside of Chicago, I’m skeptical. If I see it in a touristy area, I’m highly dubious. As I typically avoid Glen Arbor during the high season, I’ve missed this little gem being open, but have had a good time in October scoffing at the closed cart and sneering about gullible tourists being duped by yet another«Chicago» style dog that really isn’t. Time for me to eat my words. Dune Dogs is the real deal. The owner, Bill, is yet another Chicagoan turned Glen Lake lifer. He knows his dogs and takes ‘em seriously. Yay, Bill! I was up, for a change, during the high season and returning some movies. As the cart is located in the parking lot next to the video store and was open, I decided it was time to give them a shot. I approached the stand ready to dole out my usual Chicago disdain for an inferior product and immediately began to grill Bill(oh, that rhymes, fun) about the type of dog he used, fully expecting some Sysco brand skinless wonder. I’ll just say it — I was WRONG. Bill uses a natural casing Vienna Beef dog, steams them, plops them into a proper poppy seed bun and adds the proper(as required by Chicago Hot Dog Law) condiments, all lovingly purchased in CHICAGO. This man is not fooling around. I went from skeptic to fan in about 3.2 seconds. The dogs are excellent, with that perfect Vienna Beef snap — this is not a tourist dog, my friends, these dogs have the umbilici you should see on a natural casing dog. Fries, although food service, are very good, skin on types, served piping hot and perfectly salted in a paper bag. The portion is very generous. I tried a chili cheese dog and was very pleased with the chili(semi-homemade, but very tasty), although I was less than pleased with the squeeze cheese that was used. I’d give the cheese a pass next time. Bill has a passion for dogs that extends to buying his fabulous cart out of state and having it transported to Glen Arbor, no easy feat. His tamales, his condiments, his dogs, all brought to GA from Chicago. This man means business. Prices are a bit on the high side, but considering the expense of getting the ingredients up to GA, not too bad. What would run you maybe $ 5.00 in Chicago is going to run closer to $ 8.00 here, but everything is far more expensive in Glen Arbor, so there ya go. Despite the somewhat high pricing and the squeeze cheese, I’ve got to give Dune Dogs 5 stars. The high quality dogs, the attention to details, the friendly owner and the dearth of competition makes Dune Dogs a solid 5 star in my book. If you are in Glen Arbor and craving a dog, get thee to Dune Dogs, post haste, you will not be disappointed!!! Too bad I won’t get to eat there more often as they are only open seasonally, but it surely is an incentive for me to head up more during a time of year I typically avoid.
