Apple Dog Daycare, Lodging and Grooming

Sorry, but I won’t be back here.
I have been to this location a few times, generally just for daycare. I give them two stars because I have never had a problem with their daycare and their prices are fine. My dogs don’t seem to fare well outside however, due to the gravel on their paws.
The reason why I won’t be returning is due to the experience my two dogs had while lodging here for a couple nights. One of my dogs had long nails and when they mentioned they can clip them, I said sure why not. Well, after we picked them up and I brought them home, I noticed my dog limping. He didn’t seem to want to walk. When I checked his paws, I noticed that his nails were cut VERY short, and there was dried blood on a couple of them. I am positive that his nails were cut terribly — this just has never happened before. Not only that, but there was some scabbing on his belly that was not there when we left. My other dog seemed fine, but her behavior was very submissive for a couple days and it was odd. I have no idea why, so I can’t make any assumptions there… but overall it was just disappointing, and costly. My biggest issue is that they said nothing about his limp, the blood on the nails, or anything to me. If someone had, I would still be upset, but I would have appreciated the honesty. It was obvious he was hurting, and I’m sure whoever cut his nails had to of known they did a crap job of it.
The last thing that put me off was the behavior of one of the workers when we picked up our dog. She was yelling at another dog (I assume hers? I don’t know) when it was trying to come say hello to me, and kept shoving him back and yelling at it. It just didn’t leave me with a good impression, sorry.

Our dogs LOVE Apple dog! Don’t let the location fool you — this is a GREAT doggy daycare/​boarding facility with reasonable rates and people who LOVE dogs. Best of all, they have a HUGE fenced in play area and your dog plays with staff (our dog Violet LOVES them to throw balls for her) most of the day. No «one or 2 walks a day for an extra charge» here… like at many other local doggy daycares we looked at. Apple Dog is a bit of a drive for us now that we’ve moved to Southside, but we still take our dogs here anytime we go out of town, because they love it so much. The staff always remembers our dogs and takes extra good care of them. We highly reccommend Apple Dog.
