CLOSED. We went there today and there is a sign up saying they are closed. Not sure why.

I’ve been here twice & have had 2 very different experiences. The 1st was good — service was average, food was great & we sat outside on the front patio. The 2nd time we sat inside, the food was okay(ordered the chicken & fries basket — the fries were cold) but the service was terrible! Our table was forgotten about multiple times & we waited 20 minutes just to get the check at the end. I even had to get my own to-go container. I was very disappointed in my 2nd experience.

Been there a few times. the food is decent and ambiance is nice. however the last time here, the service was even slower. it seemed our table was forgotten and it took an unusually long time to get a menu. No one returned to take our order. We left.

sure, 4 stars, but really 3.5(no halfsies) Went with the family, help us MSC! it was a beautiful day, aka, we sit inside. i would have liked to be outside, they appeared to have a nice layout, but right on hebron ave, so noisy for sure. the sandwiches were made right for the most part, good selection, this is not katz’s for sure. overall 8 people with some kids and it was for the most part, cheap. i was content with my sandwich and the service was average.

So let me start off with poor customer service. When you first walk in your confused as to whether you should stand seat yourself or wait to be seated. There aren’t any signs telling you to do either. when my family an I walked in we stood at the door for approximately 10mins, we didn’t get acknowledge at all. Everyone was just starring all the workers behind the counter and waitress would just walk by. We finally decided to seat ourselves the tables wasn’t cleared from the prior customer. We had than wait for it to be cleared. Waitress comes finally clears the table and still no acknowledgement. After sitting for a few minutes I just decided to just get up and leave. I would never go back. My first and last time!

Best breakfast around! Pleasant staff, and even when super busy worth the wait. They also have the best coffee!

The Mustard Seed Café has a very nice atmosphere and well prepared food. I had a Western Omelet, in which they gladly substituted bacon for ham. The only change I would make is asking for Cheddar cheese instead of the American cheese it comes with. The homefries are made with red skinned potatoes and are lightly seasoned. It was a refreshing change from the traditional brown skinned homefries usually served at most breakfast places. Lastly, they have an interesting alternative to the traditional toast choices… Cranberry Walnut Bread. If you’re in the area and looking for breakfast, this place holds its own against the local competition. Definitely worth a try.

Best omelets in town. Service with a smile and a cute comfortable atmosphere. Favorite place to go for brunch. Outdoor seating is pleasant and the indoor seating area is cozy. The cranberry walnut bread is delicious.

* Closed, Unfortunately * Have dined here four times. I don’t get the bad reviews. All my experiences here have been good. The service was slow one of the four times, but not usually. Service, food — not perfect but fine enough. Outdoor tables are a great spring-fall offering of this place. Incidentally, the pictures of this place here(at this time, March 2015) do NOT depict it well. In the pictures, it looks dark. It is NOT dark — it’s bright here. Large windows in two sides. Yellow walls. Nice and BRIGHT, not dingy or dark as the pictures indicate. * Phil

Let me start off by saying I only go here as a last resort. I’ve only been here a few times, none of which we busy so I figured I’d get quality service. I thought wrong. You seat yourself, which is fine of course, but the staff behind the counter will aimlessly look at you while you wait for a menu or at least a drink order. I’ve had a waitress look at me sit down, so instead of dropping a menu and taking a drink order, she goes behind the counter to chat with the cook, cleans off two tables that weren’t a priority, and eventually stumbles my way. It’s not that the staff is rude in terms of attitude, but if the place is not busy there should be no excuse to have your customers wait 10 minutes for a menu. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the food is faily priced and actually decent. Like said, it’s a last resort kinda place. Do yourself a favor and go to Kens across the street!

I stopped at Mustard Seed for breakfast. I usually have breakfast out every week day morning. Place was busy. Only one server. But the server was the wife of the owner. She was friendly. You could tell she was family. She didn’t have to tell you but the way she took your order and served you, you knew she appreciated your business. Obviously, having only one server when the place was busy meant you had to wait a little longer for you to place your order and to be served. But as long as you were not in a big rush, you will have a good experience. I ordered my usual egg white cheese omelet with Tomatoes and Onions. It was good. Prices are reasonable. I will be back. Nice homey place Busy and well staffed. Good friendly service. I had eggs over easy and toast to start, then bagel & lox. All tasty and fresh.

Sunday morning brunch, it’s always a good thing. Four of us walked in, picked our table and sat down. Waitress came over quickly and took our drink order and we began looking over the menu. Lots of options, the vegetarian in our group got the sweet potatoes pancakes, the mother in law got a single plain pancake(she was trying to guilt someone) wife got an omelet and I got a breakfast sandwich. Everything was good and plentiful. The waitress was awesome and able to deal with the fussy mother in law. I will come again, this time without her.

I visited here because of the good reviews. Let me be clear if you’re on the fence — stay away! The menu was pretty basic and food was below average. Too greasy. I was appalled by the service. Im shocked that the place is always packed. There are so many better options in Glastonbury.

Terrible. Sat waiting as though invisible for 10 minutes and had to get our own menus. Eggs were way undercooked and toast was browned only one side the other barely. Sent back and they over cooked THESAMEEGGS we sent back. Toast still wrong! My French toast was not steeped long enough so bland and dry inside. Asked for real syrup but forgot. Can’t get service to correct. WTF! This place is the worst. Never come. We will never come back.

The only redeeming quality about this place is the patio and outdoor ambiance… Service is slow and disorganized. Sat for 20+ minutes while serving staff roamed around me, none of whom gave me a menu until I got up to ask for one. Food is blah and beyond mediocre… I tried multiple times to give it benefit of the doubt, but no luck!

I grabbed lunch here with a friend this past weekend and had a pleasant experience. It was a nice day so we were able to sit outside for the first time this season. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. They seemed a little inexperienced, but it was nothing to complain about. The menu seemed rather limited and it took me a while to figure out what I wanted because nothing was really standing out. I ended up landing on the Ruben which was a decent choice. I’m giving this a three star rating because this was a very average experience. Nothing really stood out but I enjoyed the atmosphere and my meal.

I’ll cut to the chase — the food is 3 stars and the atmosphere is 5 stars. Amazing place to sit outside in the spring /summer and enjoy the surroundings of the center. The service is a bit slow, but nothing extraordinarily bad like some have alluded to. Go here when you want to relax and not stare at the clock! As far as the food goes, it’s run of the mill stuff. Decent omelets, pancakes, and other breakfast options, but nothing to alert the presses about.

In full disclosure, my friend started working there a few months ago and asked me to stop in some time. I was reluctant because my last experience there was not a good one — not because of the food, but because of the waitstaff. However, I was told that the waitstaff and management had changed, so I decided to give it another shot. Glad I did. My new favorite breakfast is sunny-side-up eggs on lox, served here and only here from what I’ve been able to find. It’s so yummy, as are the homefries that go along with it. The waitstaff is helpful and attentive, and the atmosphere is busy, yet family-like. I’m on my way to becoming a regular… and trying some other items…

Great local restaurant with outdoor seating. My husband and I enjoy sitting outside and watching people strolling about. The Mustard Seed Café is a great place to meet friends for breakfast or lunch on the weekend. Even if the the weather is not pleasant, you can find plenty indoor seating with booths and tables throughout the restaurant. On a recent visit the weather was nice enough to sit out side to enjoy one of the last warm days of the season. We able to seat our selves and were quickly brought menus and our drinks while we pursued the menu. The restaurant loses a star for the length of time we had to wait for our food. It seemed like the waitresses did not have a specific area that they were assigned to. For example our waitress had out table outside and another but when I went inside to check on our food and get some water, she was also taking care of a couple of tables. Luckily the restaurant was not that busy. If this disorganization is common I can only imagine what it must be like to wait for your meal during peak serving time. When our food was finally brought to us(Hot Pastrami for me and Roast Beef Wrap for Mark) it was hot and did not appear to have been sitting under the heat lamp for too long, but again for the amount of people in the restaurant I would have expected the service to be better. If you have the time to sit and relax this is the place for you, but if you are looking for someplace to grab a quick bite you might want to reconsider you options.
