Pizza was OK. Service was great. Friendly workers. Nice atmosphere. So why one star? There’s something really backwards with the slogan on the back of the Giovanni’s T-shirts that the all-female waitstaff wear. «You can always get a hot piece at Giovanni’s Pizza.» What? That’s a weird, leering, backward, sexist thing to make your employees wear. This is supposed to be a family establishment, and Giovanni’s was hosting a bunch of kid soccer leagues the day that we came. I used the slogan on the T-shirts as a «teaching moment» and talked about it with my 11 year old son and his best friend. The kind of men I want them to become would never put a sexist, objectifying slogan on a T-shirt. I can’t imagine this is good for business. I was surprised no one else commented on this thus far. It’s time to talk about sexism at Giovanni’s. This slogan seems to imply that they are selling sex, and pizza, all at once. Totally off.

This place is pretty much how i remember it, with the same exact atmosphere. Got a buffalo chicken pizza which they heated up for me and it i must say they are pretty consistent. Not the best pizza but far from the worst. Its impressive as i usually will come here once a year and grab a slice. Not a bad place to grab a slice either.

Pizza is probably my favorite food, and I’ve had pizza at countless restaurants, and Giovanni’s pizza is on par with Frank Pepe’s in New Haven.

Best BBQ chicken pizza around! This is my go to place for amazing pizza. They have a great selection of slices you can buy every day. Chicken wings and grinders are great too. I get take out here at least once a month.

Quaint spot, however it’s probably the worst pizza I’ve ever tasted. Lacking in cheese and the sauce was tasteless. I ordered two pies for pick up and when I got there in the time they said it would be done it was already room temperature.

Giovanni’s has great brick oven pizza, grinders and salads. The tuna salad is my favorite! Very friendly and helpful staff. They have a wide variety of slices available as well. We ordered take out twice this week…

Giovanni’s is go to place for local comfort food. Reasonable food, fair prices, excellent service. That is a stellar combination. But add to that dog friendly and you have a standout establishment. No, this is not the best pizza I have tasted although it is the best on Glastonbury. And it is not the most exquisite décor although it is comfortable and clean. But, the service with a smile and great attitude, consistency, and the ability to have my sweet dog Jeannie join us makes this a favorite of mine that I visit over and over again.

By far the best pizza in the area, and we are pizza SNOBS! Having dined at a few ‘artisinal’ pizza restaurants while living in New Jersey, we became extremely picky with our Pizza. The dough has to be great, and the toppings have to be better. Giovanni’s makes an excellent pizza. Granted its not an artisinal pizza with a 14 year old yeast culture that’s been handed down by someones uncle in Italy, and roasted in a hand built Italian import brick oven — it’s still very good. Giovanni’s pizza has a great dough, which is crispy on the outside yet fluffy and tasty on the inside. The sauce on the pizza is well seasoned, not too sweet and not too savory — just the perfect blend of acidity and sweetness. Their toppings are quite fresh, and the pizza is always cooked just right. Everyone is friendly, and the pies are ready on time. Giovanni’s also has the best Wings in town. Great size, these wings are actually hearty — which is important! Nice and crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. Everything you’d want in a wing. Their buffalo sauce is very good too. We did try their ‘peach cheddar habenero’ wings once, and thought they were a bit ‘meh’, so we’ll definitely stick with the Buffalo. We will certainly continue to frequent Giovannis until someone opens a true neopolitan brick oven restaurant nearby.

Tiny spot with really good pie and drink selection. Cold night, the small booth sin back were perfect for our party of three. Super big pies. Lots of great toppings to choose from

Overall a great expirence as soon as you walk in the door. Plenty of friendly wait staff never make you feel forgotten and were very kind and helpful with recommendations of what to eat as an appetizer. Sweet potato fries and mozzarella sticks soon came out and they were fantastic. Long, crunchy, perfectly cooked fries and hot, stringy mozzarella. About 15 minutes later the main course of a classic hamburger pizza alongside a delicious sausage grinder made the meal. The establishment as a whole was clean expect the layout can be a bit awkward as the building is small but not cramped at all they did the best they could with the space they had. There are also TVs and an outdoor deck so you will never be bored here.

100% love this place. Have been multiple times to both eat-in and take-out and have never had a bad meal. Pizzas are great and they offer a great, ever-changing variety. Meals and salads are top-notch and portions are generous. Absolutely only great things to say. Check it out ASAP.

That was the best pesto panini I’ve had in a while! I ordered it to go and when I got home the fries were still crisp and flavorfull. You can tell the slaw was homemade too. There was enough food on the plate for two people and it was only $ 10! I will definitely be back.

This is really honest pizza at a good price. There are so many pizza places in Glastonbury, so you have tons of choices. I keep going back to Giovanni’s because the food is good and the price is right. Here’s what I don’t like: Big thick sloppy pies with a blizzard depth of cheese. Followed by a volcanic explosion of grease. You don’t get this at Giovanni’s. It’s supper thin with the right amount of toppings. They have a large amount of offerings, from simple to more fancy. My favorite is anything with caramelized onions. It is sooooooo good! I usually pair ricotta cheese with caramelized onions on a cheese pie. I have not found anything close to this type anywhere else.

I visited Giovanni’s with 3 of my girlfriends last night for pizza and beers. It was my second trip here and I cannot wait for my third. The atmosphere is cozy and although the restaurant itself is not very big, the tables/booths are very comfortable and roomy. Our waitress was sweet and very helpful(I don’t remember her name unfortunately). They have a great selection of craft/draft and bottled beers, I personally had the Founder’s All Day IPA, which I do recommend, it pairs great with pizza and wings. We ordered wings to begin, buffalo, honey BBQ and garlic parm flavored. All three were hot, crunchy, tossed perfectly and had a satisfying amount of meat on them. I have had my fair share of disappointing wings, but these are on the top of my list! The 4 of us ordered all different things, I myself ordered a small mozzarella pizza with basil and broccoli. Now mind you, even though I usually prefer a nice thick fluffy crust, this thin crust brick-oven style pie is to die for. Sweet/tangy tomato sauce reminds me of my own grandmothers, just the right amount of mozzarella, fresh basil and broccoli, perfectly cooked to a golden brown. Working in the restaurant industry for quite a few years now, I am usually a harsh critic, but I cannot find something wrong with this place! Easy to get to, plenty of parking, awesome outdoor area for the warmer months. I have referred acquaintances to Giovanni’s before and I will definitely continue to do so. It’s great for families, date nights or girls night out! Enjoy!

Giovanni’s has some of the best pizza I have had in the area to date. I love the fact that you can either dine in or grab a slice to go. Not very many pizza places in Hartford County offer that. The service is always really great, no complaints there. Their pizza is just down right delicious. I tend to like a thinner crust on my pizza and they have it. There is something about their crust that I cannot put my finger on. It is so crispy and delicious, makes me just want to consume a plate of crust alone. A great variety of toppings makes for a tasty customization. If you’re not in the mood to customize your pizza, you can choose from one of their’s from the menu. If you are in the area and want to grab a slice, Giovanni’s will not disappoint.

I have been here several times, and I have to say it’s probably one of my top 3 favorite pizza places in CT. I always order pizza or a calzone, and I’ve never been disappointed. Whether it’s classic pepperoni or buffalo chicken, their toppings are great quality. Service is pretty good as well, I’ve never had a bad experience with a server, and I always liked how they offer you a beer while you wait for a table. If you’re ever in Glastonbury, I highly recommend grabbing a pie.

I like this place a lot. Can’t wait until my friend moves in the area so I can come back and hang out. I really liked the customer service, the beer selections, and the pizza was pretty tasty. I wasn’t a fan of the bacon ON my Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza, but I LOVE cheese and pepperoni so next time I will try these. I love the sauce and crust. It has GREAT outdoor seating and I relaxed with a family, their dog, and took my time eating my pizza. This area is great, green, and reminded me of a few spots back in Seattle, WA. it was like being back home for a moment. The have a $ 10min on credit cards, but they worked with me, which was nice.

Giovanni’s wasn’t my first choice for pizza, but I did like it from there every once in awhile. I believe they had a buffalo chicken pizza that was pretty tasty. I mainly get subs to go from here, particularly the cold cut trio of ham, genoa, and capicola. It’s super tasty, and their subs are pretty big at 16″ if you get the full size one. I brought one back for my girlfriend to try while we were in town visting, and she absolutely loved it. I suggest adding mayo or oil and vinegar, because it doesn’t automatically come on the sub. Everyone I’ve experienced while ordering over the phone or dining in have been super nice. It used to be mainly high schoolers/college kids working there when I went, and I’m not sure if that’s changed, but they were all very nice. It may not be the best pizza place in town, but they do have some damn good grinders.

I really wanted to give Giovanni’s one star after today. We ate here last week and had pretty bad service, but the food was good. Very good. I gave it another try… warm pizza slices, still poor service(friendly when they finally showed up) but face it, all pizza is good. Then I got the tab. $ 2.50 each for the slices. But $ 10 for a draft beer! Are you freakin’ kidding me? If you’re drinking water, this place is actually quite good. But avoid the tap.

I’ve read some of the reviews, and I didn’t experience any of the negatives mentioned. I had lunch there yesterday, sat in the back dining room, ordered one gigantic slice of chicken parm pizza for $ 3.67. Go check out the picture –it hung off my paper plate on both the north and south ends, it’s as big as your head. I liked the pizza a lot –thin crispy crust, tasty tomato sauce, generous chunks of chicken parm –it was all good. All kinds of pizza and beer specials on the blackboard. Lots of different and intriguing pizzas in the front dining room showcase. Service was fine, atmosphere was fine, everything was fine. What’s not to like?
