I’ve been in a super funk. Went to class at Bikram Yoga Glastonbury yesterday and early today. As I was driving home, I had a sweet feeling of happiness. The sky looked different, my body feels great(and I’m finally breathing deeper!), I wasn’t irritated by the traffic, and I’m looking forward to my day. I’ve got to keep up with this. By the way, I felt very supported by the instructor even when I couldn’t do a posture. Parking wasn’t an issue at all and I went at different times of the day. I love this place!

The parking is a nightmare if you go to a busy class. Last time I went I felt like I was in a whole foods parking lot, people aggressively driving and honking to signal that they were waiting for a certain spot. It really caught me off guard since most yoga people are nice and calm. Not the best way to start class, and then end up having a spot next to the person who couldn’t lay off the horn. I would say the instructors and the studios are similar to other bikram studios in the area. Not the friendliest staff, very chatty w the regulars but not so interested in newbies. That being said, it is still a great workout. It just cost too much to maintain a membership on top of my other gym.

I’ve never had such an embarrassing and unpleasant bikram experience. I have been attending this studio for about a week and a half and only due to the fact that I bought a 30 day groupon because my regular bikram studio(Hartford downtown– best one around) is currently closed for water damage. I’ve attended four classes with four different instructors, two of which I have seen at other studios and really like their styles. I took a class with Jenn and it was the last time I will ever do so. I felt extremely nauseas from pain I was experiencing in my foot from a previous injury so I got up to leave mid triangle and standing separate leg head to knee as to not be rude. She didn’t offer me the same respect, calling me out in front of the entire room forcing me to stay. I had actually ended up swallowing some vomit as I sat back down embarrassed as she continued to scold me in front of a room of 20 people trying to relax and do yoga. She said i can’t just walk across a room of people doing poses when they are trying to balance. I say on my knees and she kept talking to me until I did as she asked and laid down is savasana. I laid there a) in pain and nauseous simply wanting some cold water to place on my forehead — I like the heat in the room, I’m used to it b) embarrassed that she made such a commotion about it in such a rude manner and c) annoyed at the fact that she disrupted my 90 minute silent meditation that I use as a relaxation and stress release to my crazy work week.

My 2 year of stint of practicing Bikram yoga started here. The intro special of $ 20 for 10 is a great deal, but after that the prices skyrocket. This studio is tiny! From the outside it looks like a small house and the parking lot is an absolute nightmare! I remember rushing to get here so early so I wouldn’t have to panic about parking. If a class is in session, the door is locked so you can’t even get into the waiting area. I understand the safekeeping of valuables, but maybe if there was a receptionist or something this wouldn’t be an issue. The«waiting area» is a bit of a cluster with 30 or so people changing out of their winter sweats/UGGS etc. The actual yoga room is not that large either and they really pack people in their like sardines in a can. It is uncomfortable enough to be in a 105 degree room, but even worse with a stranger practically on top of you! I don’t think I ever didn’t feel this way. I enjoyed all of the instructors, but I know how they come and go. I don’t think I realized how much this studio well«sucked» for lack of a better word, until there was an amazing Bikram yoga studio opened down the street from my job in Simsbury. It definitely made me never step foot into this studio again.

Terrible experience. The room was vastly overcrowded(which is not what you want in a 100 degree room). The instructor had a horrible attitude, and it was the least relaxing yoga experience I’ve had in 10+ years. We were not allowed to leave the room(without at least being publicly ridiculed, as some poor lady found out), but when I chose to not participate in some stretches because of my dizziness and lack of sweating(the beginnings of heat stroke/exhaustion?), I was publicly ridiculed anyway. Definitely not returning.

I struggled with the star rating on this one. My experiences here have been very hit or miss. Yes, the yoga is performed in a very hot and stuffy room. Yes, it can get overcrowded. But the real issue for me is that the customer service and the instructor quality can be horrible. I’ve tried this place a couple of times, and stopped going each time because of bad experiences. If you are interested, give it a shot for their intro special($ 20 for 10 days of unlimited classes), find an instructor that you like, and take ONLY their classes.

I just started taking Bikram classes here and signed up for their intro special($ 20 for 10 consecutive days of unlimited classes — great value!) and I really enjoy it. I’ve been practicing yoga casually for the past 3 or 4 years which was great preparation. If I weren’t active regularly I think the heat would get to me more. The first day was definitely the hardest and I was tempted to leave the room a few times, but after that I was able to get through the class without thinking about the heat too much. I just get used to the sweat and I always feel super awake and energized afterwards. The studio, itself, is pretty small, but it makes for a nice environment that accommodates a class size that’s neither too big nor too little. All of the instructors that I’ve had have been wonderful; they definitely have different styles but they’re all very nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend those interested to at least give it a try.
