Excellent food! We stayed in Glasgow 2 nights and decided to eat dinner here both nights in town. Wonderful service, everyone was friendly. You have to eat here while in town!

This place was amazing! Nothing bad about this place in my opinion. We were driving through on I-65 and saw the positive reviews and thought we would give it a shot. First, DONOT follow the directions by clicking the button in Unilocal.Copy down the address and type it into you map app. Otherwise, you will go 30 minutes the wrong direction(Cave City). Once we finally found it, they were on a short wait. We called ahead and were informed that they do not take reservations on Friday-Saturday– Sunday. They took our name and phone number to call is when the table was ready, estimated wait was 30 minutes. We took an opportunity to stretch our legs and take a quick walk around the sleepy little town. Glasgow is a very quaint, picturesque small town with a surprising number of lawyers. Midway through our walk, maybe 10 minutes, we get a call on our cell that our table is ready. We quickly made our way back to the restaurant and are greeted at the door as if they had know us a long time. The ambiance in the restaurant is cozy. There is Tex-Mex décor throughout and a small milk jar with live flowers on each table. The restaurant can’t seat more than maybe 40 people. The waitress, Amber, was so sweet! She spent some time talking with us about the town. She even poked fun at my out of town«accent». There were so many good options to pick from. For the appetizer we got the Texas toothpicks. The sauce was clearly homemade because you could still see the swirling of the mixing of ingredients. Just the right amount of heat. Very tasty! For our entrees, we selected the Cowgirl Ribeye and Monterey Chicken Breast. For sides, we had the side salad, grilled asparagus, and fried green tomatoes. Everything was seasoned so well. My steak was juicy and did not require any assistance for flavor(i.e. A1). We couldn’t leave without trying one of their homemade desserts. So many wonderful options to select from, but we landed on the Blackberry Cobbler. They brought it out, and all I can say is WOW!!! The taste exceed the presentation. Overall, in case you can’t tell, we LOVED this spot. It’s now my personal favorite restaurant in KY. Wish they had it at home, but maybe it’s a good thing they don’t because I might go everyday.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I had the most pleasant dinning experience in a while. The service was excellent, surpassed only by the quality of the food. It is the first perfect meal I have ever had in a steakhouse. And I have eaten at some of the best in the country. The ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare. So tender and juicy. The baked potato could not have been any better and real butter. The salad was perfect as well with crisp veggies and a little sweet french dressing and crunchy croutons. The steak was the star of the party though, if only every steak I ever eat could taste this good it would be heaven on earth. Now I just need to find a reason to drive 3 ½ hours to eat there again. Thank you for the perfect meal.

Whoa-man! Talk about looks being deceiving. This place is located in the heart of Glasgow. The drive to A Little Taste of Texas is gorgeous. Large plantation brick styled houses lined for rows and rows. This little establishment is very unassuming and can be easy to miss. It is small on the inside, filled with Texas style décor. A coworker and I had lunch here yesterday, both being our first time and we were enthralled with the coziness of the place and the yumminess of the food. As my obsession of sweet tea continues to shine through as the older I get I can tell you this place has got their sweet tea perfected. I ordered the lemon pepper chicken, which comes with two sides and texas toast. I ordered the steamed broccoli and a loaded baked potato. The portions were indeed large, so much so I had the leftovers as my lunch today. The lemon peppper chicken flavor was right on point. Everything was piping hot; butter melting over my potato, steam rising off the broccoli — just how I like it. My coworker had the catfish meal, which comes with hush-puppies and she also had a baked potato. We decided to split a dessert and ordered the blackberry cobbler — hands down the best blackberry cobbler I’ve ever had, sorry Mom! I’m really pleased that a local business like this is continuing to thrive. My only complaint was that our service was a little slow, but the food really does speak for itself. Will I be back? Absolutely. Will I order the same thing? Heck yes!

Wow really nice restaurant did not expect it here in Glasgow. I was just here on business and it was recommended by my customer. I travel a lot and this one goes in my top ten restaurants anywhere. I got the Salmond and it was perfect. The sides were all great. My waitress did a great job also.

Found this place on Unilocal, read the reviews and my family decided to try it out. It was the best filet I had ever had. My husband and son ordered the cowboy ribeye and they both agreed it was one of the best steak they have had. My husband tried their cowboy beans and lets just say I «helped» him eat them they were so good. Our waitress was very friendly, quick with the refills.

We had an excellent meal at A Little Taste of Texas. Grilled salmon was delicious. Homemade ranch dressing was very very good. Wonderful service. Reasonably priced place too! They offer a large array of homemade desserts but we were so full we had to pass… maybe next time!

We found this place randomly while we were staying in Cave City. We got the fried pickle appetizer, which was very good. My husband and I both got the NY strip steak, which was a little pricey, but very delicious! We were way too full to get dessert, but they looked tasty!

I love this place. I’m a supporter of non chain restaurants and this is a top one. I always get the chicken Monterey sandwich with mushrooms with an extra side of mushrooms. It’s plenty big enough for two meals. I’ve also had the chicken tenders and fries which are equally amazing. I’ve never ate anything here that wasn’t exquisite. The service is amazing and the staff is beyond friendly. True southern hospitality. Most of the staff have been there for years. It is a small location and can have a wait but that’s part of what makes it so special. It’s great for an intimate romantic date. They often have fresh flowers and candles on each table. They don’t have a liquor license or offer beer but it’s something that can’t be missed if you are looking for amazing food, service, & atmosphere.

What a surprise to find this charming little non-chain restaurant. THe food was outstanding, we were a party of eleven, we had a short wait for a table as it was very busy. THe appetizers were fresh and delicious. Our main courses were large, one guest had the chicken fried steak and it easily could have fed two people. Prime rib was excellent, at least an inch thick and very flavorful. Be careful tho, you may drive right by it, the sign is very small and insignificant. Don’t pass this place by, even if you have to wait a bit, you will be happy that you did.

My favorite restaurant! Love the atmosphere, the food, & service. I am not big on steak. Their salads are always fresh & cold. I usually get the BBQ chicken or BBQ baked potato. The rest of the family loves their steaks.

We arrived in Glasgow with 16 hungry human beings ready to be gastronomically delighted. This little place did that and more. What a wonderful, family owned and operated, little slice of heaven in the heart of Kentucky. From the waitress, who was both informative and helpful, not to mention extremely patient with the elder humans in our group, to the quiet atmosphere of the dining area, to the delicious and varied choices on the menu, this place truly deserves 5 stars. I guarantee, if we are ever in the area again, A Little Taste of Texas will be our destination for dinner. And, to top it all off, my wallet barely had a dent in it when we left. A fantastic value in Glasgow, Kentucky.

Visited here with my family. I am from New York and have plenty of choices for restaurants but was blown away by the beef served here. The steaks were excellent and even the burgers were juicy and delicious. Loved the fresh blueberry cobbler. Service was prompt and friendly and this has become our«go to» choice when we are in the area.

I didn’t know what to expect with the wide range of opposite pole reviews, but as you can see from the rating I am a fan. The FRIEDMUSHROOMS were perfect and the TEXASTOOTHPICKS were tastie but the presentation is terrible. It appears that this appetizer was scraped from the bottom of a barrel with lots of LITTLE broken pieces and no way to identify which is peppers or onions. IMHO the COUNTRYFRIEDSTEAK would be better as COUNTRYFRIEDCHICKENSTEAK and the serving is huge. My 10 oz. Medium Rare Top Sirloin was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Always makes me feel better about a restaurant that doesn’t automatically offer to bring steak sauce to make your steak taste like it should naturally. If you want ½ & ½ tea be sure to ask for 1⁄3&2⁄3 sweet tea. The straight sweet must be syrup. Both of our orders came with baked potatoes that are HUGE. My coleslaw was bland and tasteless. Adding a lemon squeeze and a shot of pepper fixed that. The asparagus(fresh) with cheese sauce(nasty stuff) side is TINY. Will I go again, YES. I AM A FAN!

The Husband & I ate dinner here last week and loved it so much we returned the following day for lunch. We very much agree with Tim and disagree strongly with Amy. For dinner we had Fried Mushrooms(small order, PLENTY for two). They were actually breaded in house instead of pre-breaded & frozen in a plastic bag purchased from some food supply company. The sauce had a good amount of horseradish in it & was very tasty! For entrée, we each ordered the Country Fried Steak. One order would have been enough for 2 or 3 people, so we had lots of take-away leftovers. I’m from Texas(where this dish is properly referred to as Chicken Fried Steak) and this version was spot on. The meat was tender, the breading was accomplished by the hands of the cook in this very kitchen(again, not purchased frozen already breaded from some food supply company) and the gravy was wonderful. For sides we had Grilled Asparagus(the best either one of us has EVER had, and we are actual Asparagus Snobs with a 20 ft row of it in our garden), the Side Salad had crisp, fresh, beautiful, green Romaine, boiled egg, cheddar cheese shreds, tomato, red onion and good croutons. The Fried Okra, which although fried just perfectly, was battered instead of just a toss in cornmeal. For dessert we split the Blackberry Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream and it, too, was delicious. All that plus two drinks came to less than $ 40, plus a very nice & attentive waitress who was always there when we needed something, but didn’t hover. When we returned the next day for lunch, we ordered the Texas Toothpicks for appetizer, Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries and the Pork Plate(which is actually a sandwich) with the Grilled Asparagus. The Jalapenos in the Toothpicks were warm only. They absolutely did not blow the top of your head off with heat. For me, that’s a good thing… get the taste of the peppers without all the heat! The pork had a nicely sweet/tangy sauce, they give you a good thick cut of red onion(enough to actually taste it on the sandwich, imagine that!) and plenty of pickles with the sandwich. The burger was dressed with the same red onion, crisp green Romaine, tomato & pickles, and the meat really tasted like it was done on a grill over actual charcoal. Delicious! The Hubs did say(with a wink & a nod) that he could tell they had grilled his burger on the same grill as the asparagus and was slightly offended by that, being a carnivore and all… Our ONLY mark down for this restaurant came as something of a surprise to us… they serve Crinkle Cut Fries straight out of that frozen plastic bag from the afore mentioned food supply company. What a puzzlement, considering all they do fresh on site and the care they take with their preparation… go figure… But that said, they are definitely NOT just a general hole-in-the-wall that passes for rural Kentucky fine dining. It, and the folks we met working there get a serious EXCELLENTJOB! from us.

Every time I’ve been, which is several, it’s always been crowded, slightly loud & always delicious. If I’m hungry in Glasgow, and want a meal I can trust will be good,…this is the only place in my consideration. Try the steak sandwich and fresh cobbler.
