This is a Brand new place in Gladewater. Before this opened, bodacious bbq was the only bbq joint in town, so I’m going to compare the two. We need to support this place because it is amazing! I got a chopped beef sandwich… It was $ 4.99, versus $ 7.99 at bodacious … So the cost is cheaper, but price wouldn’t matter if the quality wasnt there. However, the flavor is mouth watering! And the sandwhich was stuffed so thick, it made 3 meals for me, while a bodacious sandwhich I always finish in 1 setting. The flavor was amazing! Much more authentic smoky BBQ taste than bodacious, twice as much food, for half the price as bodacious! My husband got a rib plate, which for $ 9.99, included two slices of bread, 4 ribs, two sides and a drink. At bodacious, the rib plate is $ 17 and doesn’t even include the drink. The ribs here are also very thick and meaty while the ribs at bodacious are more thin and «crispy». The potato salad and the beans were better here than at bodacious, with more generous servings. Hands down this will be the BBQ place I go to from now on in town. Be aware, it is just starting out, so it’s in a tiny older building that’s not much to look at, really more a take out than a sit down place because not much seating. So the outer shell is not much to look at. But it’s what’s inside that counts! Don’t let that turn you away, at first I nearly didnt stop because of its size, but I’m so glad I gave it a chance! It’s clean and the staff is friendly, just for now until they get on their feet, plan to take your Bbq home with you rather than planning to eat there. But Bodacious has lost some of its old fashioned authenticity over the years as it became a chain, however, this place provides more of a down home, old fashioned authentic BBQ, like you would find at a family reunion. Generous servings, cheaper price, and more authentic taste than the leading competition… You can’t go wrong!
