Gorgeous view. Awful service from older bartender on Sunday at lunchtime. Rude and off putting.

We had a lovely 3-course meal. We had the scallop bisque, salads, seared ahi, and glazed duck. The food was inventively & beautifully presented but the cuisine wasn’t notable. What was notable: the view, the fun tram ride, running around outside in the snow. Overall, the food was way overpriced even though the experience was enjoyable.

Our New Year Day reservations here were canceled due to severe weather, but fortunately they were able to get us up for lunch the next day(the replacement option was a steak meal in the lodge’s chintzy breakfast lounge with 80’s pop ambient music) It was a blustery snowy day so views were very limited but the winter wonderland was much appreciated during the freakish heatwave that occurred over New Year’s week. The restaurant was magnificently perched on the ledge of the mountain and combined a rustic and contemporary feel, with a lot of regional art. The service was professional and attentive, the food was the best I had on the trip(fish veal, artisan cheese plate). Note that you get free tickets up the tram to get to your reservation an hour before, but it took much longer the day we tried due to severe backups from the weather.

Almost five stars but I live in the culinary capital of Miami so my scale may be tougher than others. A great breakfast in probably the best breakfast spot in Anchorage. You must stop in.

I love this place. The ambience. The service. The food. And the view of course. The Alaskan King crab legs were fresh and delicious. Oysters were also very good.

Great on good visibility days and pretty darn nice any other time. We’ve dined here several times and always enjoyed wonderful service, attentive staff and really tasty food. Nice spot for out of town guests and weekend getaways. Fun wine list and always a nice little surprise from the kitchen.

Two words: below par! How they managed to get 4Diamonds for this restaurant is beyond me. Greasy fries, burnt buns yuck… Can I please give 0 stars?

Gorgeous views. Exceptional service — especially considering that one of our party was a somewhat cantankerous guy, known for being difficult with servers… We have eaten here several times, and it’s always lovely. They have a lovely bar with a pretty decent selection of high-end stuff along with the regulars. Nice wine list, too — we got a really good bottle of something I don’t recall but remember enjoying very much. The food is always yummy, and I recommend pretty much everything they have. Never had anything I didn’t enjoy. The views are spectacular, and it’s fun to walk around the entire complex, seeing the mountains from all angles, getting pictures of the inlet from above. But then when you walk into the restaurant and get warm and sit by the window and have a nice glass of wine — it just feels perfect. I’m pretty sure the only way to get up there is on the tram, which is also pretty cool. Beautiful ride up. I suppose you could get down by skiing, but I don’t do that — more likely to break my leg than enjoy the view that way. Looks like fun if you are a skier, though! It’s beautiful in the summer when everything is all green, and it’s beautiful in the winter when the snow covers everything, all sparkly and magical looking. It’s just always beautiful! Enjoy!

Steak, asparagus, potoates, halibut, and an outstanding tart. This meal was my favorite over the 14 days that I spent in Alaska. Worth every dime!

This was the best meal we had during our 10 days in Alaska, hands down. My in-laws rode the tram to the top, while my sister-in-law and I hiked, so we arrived good and hungry. We were told when purchasing the tram tickets that there were no more available reservations but that we could hope to get lucky with a cancellation, and we did! We were initially placed at perhaps the table with the«worst» view(hey, beggars can’t be choosers) but after beers, a cheese plate, and some Baked Alyeska, a much bigger table with a wonderful view opened up, and our hostess Nicole graciously allowed us to be reseated. The meal that ensued was phenomenal. Our waiter Kelly seemed to honestly enjoy working here and also was quite knowledgable about the various seafood options on the menu. My sister-in-law asked Kelly whether he’d recommend the rock fish(a $ 38 dish) or the bisque($ 10), she was impressed that he recommended the soup despite its much lower price. Rarely does the bread basket take center stage during meals like this, but as strange as it sounds, there was just something about that whipped butter! We asked Kelly what the magic ingredient was: truffle salt, he said. When the food came out, we all passed plates around the table(nope, no shame in this family!) and sampled each others’ wares. The halibut had wonderful texture and flavor. My personal favorite was the scallop bisque, which was smooth as silk. I am not usually a crab lover, but Kelly had promised that«the kitchen has done all the work for you,» and sure enough, we scraped the tender crab right out of the shell, where it then melted in our mouths. I will never again be able to eat crab legs at Fortune Buffet back home now that I’ve tasted fresh Alaskan king crab. The exemplary service and the million dollar view helped justify the steep prices; at the same time, I was glad that Seven Glaciers was not so formal that we weren’t able to dine in the clothes we’d just hiked in. They also did not kick us out our uncouth food-swapping!

Closest thing there is in Girdwood to ‘lower 48 fine dining’ in terms of ambience and expectations. Not necessarily the best food in town. Sprat gives it a run for the money, for less money, though in a less formal atmosphere. One star off for not quite living up to fine dining levels of service and taste. When we made our reservations we specified our dietary restrictions. Our server didn’t know about them. We told our server about them. Later a staff member brought an amuse bouche that was specifically what we specified we cannot eat — both when making the reservation and when first speaking with our wait person. That said, the dishes were good. The daily pasta was excellent. The beignet dessert just middling. The cheese plate was sized well — small — but only a third of the cheeses really stood out. Etc.

Reviews for this place seems really mixed but I had a really good experience. There is no doubt that the food is expensive but it is pretty good. The view is amazingly postcard perfect. Be sure to make a reservation via open table at or right before sunset. You can pick up your free tram tickets at the ticketing office. The tram runs every 15 mins in the off season and you can wait in the tram. If you’re too cold, you should probably dress warmer. If you’re not staying at the resort, I would recommend you just valet your car so you don’t have to walk too far. If you can afford this dinner, you could probably afford a few more dollars to tip the valet attendant. Service was pretty quick and spotless. We got one of the best(if not the best) tables in the house. There was even a newly wed in the table adjacent to us and their table wasn’t as good as ours.

This restaurant is fantastic! We recently celebrated our anniversary here and had so much fun. The food, drinks and dessert were great! We were seated at a beautiful table with a wonderful view, such a fun experience. The service was great!

The best crab cake I’ve ever had in my entire life was from here. It’s full of big pieces of Alaskan king crab, and seared beautifully on both sides. Absolutely fantastic. They change their menu seasonally, but this time the crab cake was served with a cucumber«salad» on top, aka, a couple of tiny cucumber slices. The real downside, besides the tiny portion, is the price…$ 17. Big time ouch. My friend had the scallop bisque, which was a bit more reasonably priced($ 10). But, this is a fine dining type of establishment. Service is friendly, portions are small, and prices are high. Their wine, on the other hand, is averagely priced by the glass. My recommendation would be to hike the North Face trail from Alyeska, and once you reach the top, stop in here for an appetizer and glass of wine and gaze at the beautiful view(from the bar area, since this IS a nice restaurant after all), and take the tram back down(it’s free!).

A nice little treat with a beautiful view! If you like big plates with a tiny portion in the middle, then look no further… don’t forget to raise your pinky, Unilocaler, this place is pretty classy. Upon entering you find a tastefully decorated restauranr with a nice bar overlooking the slopes and lanscape. The hostess stand is almost always empty when I’ve been there. I am often frustrated that I reserve well in advance and request a table by one of the windows facing the slope, but we ALWAYS end up by the table next to the tram lift, so all you can see is the mechanics and stuff of the tram… not cool… oh, and this happens even when the restaurant is empty. Seating always takes way too long for having a reservation and being half empty. On another note, this restaurant is tastefully decorated and overall a wonderful ambiance for a date night or a gathering with family(as long as you’re willing to spare a few pretty pennies). Honestly, I recommend just coming for lunch because the items are similar and cost way less, plus with the free tram ride up(after making a reservation) you make the most out of your money and still have that«wow» you wanted. The food is pretty tasty, but I find this too gourmet. The food needs a little more soul, but nonetheless, still enjoyable. The scallop bisque is rich and creamy when they serve it hot. Lately I’ve had it somewhat closer to luke warm. They bring out bread too but I was saddened to find that they weren’t even warm. One of my favorite things to do here is order the cheese platter and share that and a few other small items, along with drinks. The cheese selection doesn’t change very much and it’s just a nice thing to share with others. Check this place out for yourself and hopefully you’ll have a lovely view. The staff is pretty cordial and can address an menu questions.

Lousy experience here, I’d recommend taking your business elsewhere. 1. If you’re going to charge $ 55 for a Filet Mignon, try a little bit harder not to serve a medium steak well done ++. 2. If you do make that mistake(which happens), own up to it and try to make your customer happy. 3. Don’t ask for a comp on the dessert for that steak after the customer says they don’t want dessert and would just like the check. Some advice for the manager(who probably should have come over to check in with us after the mess up but didn’t) ease up on the over the top(somewhat annoying) «service/arrogance», and focus on true customer service with a bit more attention to the preparation. Don’t get me wrong, I’m willing to pay $ 200+ for a special dinner. But dining at the this restaurant wasn’t worth it.
