I went because I saw it had 4 stars and I decided to get a torta de asada. It made my stomach hurt because it had so much fat in it. I tried taking some of it out but there was some in every bite. Gross.

I know it’s called tacomania, but the torta here… so good. Get it with the beef. The hot sauce(red sauce) has the perfect kick where it’s spicy but not so spicy where it’s overwhelming and covers up the flavor of the other ingredients. The lady that was working the register was so so nice. The music is super loud in here, and the inside is relatively small, buts it’s a great place to stop and have lunch. Glad I stumbled upon this place.

If you are looking for the real deal, Mexican food, this is the place. We only discovered this as we were hungry and needed to find a place where we could eat outside as we had our 4 legged best buddy and it was way too hot to leave her in the car. What really grabbed our attention was the obnoxious pink and purple paint job and tiny patio and we thought with a goofy name like Tacomania, «why not?» I let the hubby order for us and we ended up getting a couple of veggie tacos and he ordered tacos that he has not been able to eat since he was last in Mexico. Can’t remember the name but something like Campeche tacos a la??? He was raving about the dish as it combined chorizo and el pastor. My veggie tacos were AMAZING. They included beans, roasted peppers, carrots, avocados, radishes, cilantro, pico de gallo and get this: melted cheese between the 2 tortillas! What a novel concept and for only $ 2.80 each. I could have gotten away with just one order but because they were so good, I stuffed myself silly with two. I found the price to be very cheap, the place was cute enough without being too hole in the wall and the service was fantastic. The lady behind the counter was super friendly and accommodating. Muchas gracias Tacomania! I will be back.

This restaurant was recommended to me by someone at the Hollister skate park, as the best food in Gilroy. Since I’d never stopped in Gilroy for food, this was my first choice. With the blinding sunlight, this was a bit difficult to find. It is not in the strip mall, but two buildings west of that. There isn’t much parking, but the parking lot of the empty building beside it could probably be used. There were no customers at 7 p.m. I expected one or two when I entered. Others arrived as I was leaving, at least, I thought that they were customers. I ordered two carne asada tacos, rice, and a Jarritos Limón. Espanglés/Spanglish came into play. They have agua frescas, but the only one I remember was Tamarindo. They didn’t have Piña, which is my usual choice. At a little over $ 8.00, it wasn’t cheap or expensive. When the food came, I didn’t get a fork, so I asked, and she pointed to the area near the cash register that had spoons, forks, and more. Strange that they didn’t have chopsticks for rice. The rice was good, not dry. The flavor of the tacos was good, but the meat was so chewy. At that point, I’d rather have ground beef, and I’m not sure that they offered that.

Stopped by with the family while we were on our way to the Gilroy Outlets. Didn’t really know the place. I enjoyed my lunch –had the beef taco plate w/rice and whole pintos. A Mexican Coke and hubby had a chicken taco. The tortillas are small, like 3″ and it was more than enough food for me. The beef was chopped into tiny pieces and seasoned perfectly. The inside of the building has framed boxing posters and the like w/a big screen TV. Bathrooms are locked and in the back, which I don’t like, but that’s the way it is. Glad we came here! Would stop in again! Quite a few customers while we were there –it’s definitely a quickie eat and go sort of place. Good parking.

Food is great, can’t complain. But when bad service is given, it makes it difficult to enjoy your meal. Employee asked us to please go and pick up our food because she was busy. Understandable, but I’ve never heard that before. Also, my michelada was missing a few things, employee claimed she makes them better when she has more time. Never heard that before either!!!

No question about it, the absolute best tacos I have ever had! I had a super taco with Carnitas, awesome. The pork was so tender with lots of flavor. The restaurant is clean and even has some outdoor seating. Everyone is greater with a smile. The service is great.

So great! There are so many taco places in Gilroy and this is one of my favorites. Super fresh ingredients and the meats are tender and juicy. Their al pastor tacos come with tiny sweet bites of pineapple and it just adds something special to it. They are friendly and pretty quick with service. I love to sit outside on the patio. On wed they have 2 for 1!

I love the pastor tacos! They had little bits of pineapples on them. I always receive great service. The food ia very good. Badside, was my date couldn’t keep his eyes off the lil huera working the register. Granted she is a lil cutie LoL. But I will return and I’m gonna try the carne asada quesidilla next. I definitely recommend this place for fast quality mexican food.

Ok so whenever there is a open spot or empty building in Gilroy BOOM OPENANOTHER Mexican eatery. With that said this place is fresh and clean food is good TV on and we’ll I’d be back for another burrito give it a try there are only bout 117 options in the close proximity Only downside however slight the plastic forks and knives need a more stable utensil

Who can’t notice the blazing purple colors!!! This is a tiny whole in the wall serving up amazing soft tacos. burritos and beer. Because of the location, it isn’t ideal for eating. There is just too much asphalt and not enough shade. The food is great though, and I’d recommend stopping there anytime for a great and inexpensive meal.

Although the sign says tacos and beer, they have no license yet to sell beer. The chips are not free and appear I be store bought. They offer no hearty salsa to go with it. Just sauces provided in squeeze bottles. I guess I’m accustomed to chunky Pico do gallo style salsa with chips but maybe that’s gringo chips and salsa for all I know. Still, a little disappointing. The meet selections are good, including my favorite the pork belly(buche) Very flavorful. I’d say there is room for growth. Good meats are a great start. Better chips and salsa and securing that liqueur license will be welcome improvements.

Stopped in today with my co-worker for lunch. There’s A LOT of taco places in Gilroy so I was actually surprised to see another one open and even more surprised that it was a chain. Signature wild pink building. I thought the layout was a little strange. You walk into the building to place your order but have to go back outside to what looks like a food truck window to get your food. It literally is a food truck butted up against the side of the building. Weird concept. We both ordered the two taco plates. Food took awhile to come to the window especially since there were no orders ahead of ours. Tacos were good. Tender flavorful fillings. Avocado was ripe and plentiful and the corn tortillas were fresh and tasty. We weren’t fans of the beans and rice so next time we’ll pass on those options. The salsas were also pretty good and the cut up limes were fresh and juicy not old and dry like other places. Overall it was just okay. I kinda thought they were a little pricey. Two taco plate, and a water was over $ 10.

Had one of the taco plates and was very happy. The tacos were fresh and delicious. This is what I think of when I think of big-city taco truck(though in restaurant form). Fresh ingredients, well made tacos. All of the salsas I tried were very good as well. I like that it’s served with pinto beans and not refried crap. Great tacos. I’ll be back for sure.

Sign out front says«tacos and beer», however they were not serving any alcohol(I’m assuming because of the time it takes to obtain a liquor license) on an 80° day the beer would have been exceptional, but the tacos were delicious and the salsas were amazing. Well worth it.
