Yum! Authentic Mexican food and wonderfully flavored and spicy salsas! Place is tiny… Easy to miss but highly recommend! They didn’t have salads on the menu but they made me one on the fly with carne asada and it was delicious! A big salad of tomatoes, avocado, lettuce, onion, cheese, bell peppers, lime and the carne asada with salsa. Loved it. Kids inhaled their burritos! Thanks for the fast service and delicious food.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I ordered a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. The food was good, but not really my idea of great Mexican. Other reviewers seem to love the food, so I guess you have to try it for yourself. When I first looked at the menu I almost walked out because I couldn’t afford $ 11+ for a plate of food, and wasn’t about to pay that much to sit in a VERY generic diner with zero atmosphere and a TV blasting. There aren’t a whole lot of tables and two of them were filled with piles of papers and a cash register. I think they were working on their taxes or something. One redeeming quality is that though I had to pry it out of them, I was able to get my single cheese enchilada meal for just over five bucks with tax. It wasn’t on the menu. It looked like a family operation. A very young kid, maybe 12 or 13, took my order and spoke plain English. He spoke in Spanish to the man and woman in the kitchen about my special request and how much to charge. I assumed they were his parents. When I went to sit down, the table I wanted to sit at was dirty. I asked the boy if it could be cleaned and the woman came out and cleaned it. The chips were good. Salsa a tad too spicy for me but I’m a spice wimp. If I loved the food I’d probably order it to go on occasion, but I’d never want to sit in the actual diner again. Felt a little … well … yucky.

Ate there today(January 12th, 2014) with my daughter, son-in-law, and my buddy from Hong Kong. All four of us are Mexican food snobs. We all ordered different things… and each of us cleaned our plate. Very friendly service… watched the 49ers on the t.v. while enjoying the GREAT lunch. I had Chili Verde… my Asian buddy had Chili Colorado. My daughter had a burrito as did her husband. Coldest beers in town… overall a terrific experience. Simply could not be better. They even take credit cards. Four people for lunch… plenty of food… each had a drink…$ 35 bucks.

On the way to Mt. Madonna, and we needed to grab some grub. So a few of us grabbed subway, but I saw this place next door, so I had to give it a shot. How could I not pick a place like this over a subway? Its a tiny shop, maybe seating for 25 or so. I ordered the al pastor super burrito. The price is about right, and the burrito was pretty big. Looking a review below, I noticed that a lady made the burrito, and it seems like a big burrito to me, I can’t imagine how much bigger it could have been had the guy made it. So I bite in, and the flavor is good. The meat is grilled, and its chunks of meat, not little chunks, but«man sized» chunks, for the lack of a better term. I could see the grill marks and everything. The lettuce was a bit weird. It was like salad mix sized pieces even. But the kicker was that it had pineapple in it. I had never had pineapple in a burrito before, and I would have expected them to mention something(maybe its on the menu as a part of the«super“ing of the burrito, but I didn’t notice). And I do enjoy pineapple, so maybe I’m biased, but I thought it totally worked. The flavor of the al pastor with the pineapple work so well together. And this just made the burrito that much juicier. If you’re on your way to Mt. Madonna, or to bonfonte, do yourself a favor, and stop in here to grab a burrito first.

This place is super tucked away, but a good find! It’s a couple doors down from the Subway, which is actually where I intended to go for lunch today but I was not trying to wait in that line, haha. I’m always down to try a Gilroy Mexican food spot so in I went. It’s very small, but clean and nicely decorated. I went up and ordered my veggie burrito($ 3.50) and took a seat. I was given chips and salsa right away, and they were very tasty. Just a few minutes later my burrito came out(came with a side of green salsa) and it was huge! Turns out, it was also very yummy. It had all the good stuff: rice, beans, sour cream, pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese and guacamole. Really great flavor, but my only issue was that the cheese was really cold and not melty. It kind of took away from the rest of the burrito, but it was still good so i ate half, saved the rest and went home with a happy tummy. In regards to the review above I’m guessing they changed their ways here because the woman did make my burrito and it was just $ 3.50 for a great size. Definitely try this place! It might not look like much from the outside but you get a lot of great food for your money. :)

Grab my breakfast burritos here. Funny thing is if the guy makes it for you. its $ 3.50 and fat. If the woman makes it. its $ 4.20 and smaller. Avoid her. she cost them a star.
