This is a great diner/family restaurant. It isn’t fancy, it isn’t elegant, but it is clean and well run. I almost hate to give up this gem, because I worry that it will get too popular, but fair is fair. This was my 3rd visit, and I will be back. The food is very good(quality of ingredients and well prepared), the people are friendly, and the service is good, the portion size is good, and the prices are really reasonable.

Has become one of our favorites when visiting Gilroy. Old-school diner worthy of a visit by Triple D.

I ordered ribeye steak sandwich for lunch and it was very good. The service is excellent here. I especially love their breakfast omelet selections. The pancakes are super fluffy and their hash browns are cooked to crispiness perfection. Don’t order the pasta because it won’t come out Al Dente.

We have been here several times and this officially will be the last. The service was horrendous, I don’t even think I could call it service. Our waitress(didn’t catch her name — had short curly hair) was so incredibly rude to us, criticized our orders, treated us like children — extremely condescending. The food has always been mediocre but what do you expect and the environment is dirty, dark and off putting. As we were leaving we heard the hostess yelling at a woman to «calm down». The woman had done nothing wrong and was merely asking when her party was going to be seated because they had reservations. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I get that these people probably have been working here forever and its a small town, but there is no excuse for that level of rudeness. A waitress is meant to wait on your customers. Never coming back, Longhouse, please hire competent servers who understand professionalism and customer service.

I wouldn’t choose to go here. Diner coffee which is to be expected. The breakfast is pretty good. But now I eat gluten free so I can’t have their waffles anymore. I’ve had lunch there as well, it was a scampi pasta. the noodles were overcooked I did not enjoy it. The flavoring tasted like top ramen.

This normally is one of my faves to eat at, I was recently there this past Sunday for breakfast with friends and family after church. We got our food fast and it was great we decided to have mimosas, we had one glass then decided to have another when the server came back I said«oh how nice new glasses» once we grabbed them I noticed my friends glass had lipstick stains all over it, non of us were wearing lipstick, very upsetting not sure if I will come back if I do it won’t be for a while very upsetting.

We have gone here twice and the seafood and steaks are good. Place always looks packed but I think that’s due to the bar in the back. There always seems to be tables open no matter when you come.

Not good at all! I normally get the roast beef over bread with mashed potatoes and gravy, but yuck! The meat tasted funny, the gravy had no flavor, the potatoes came from a box, and the bread was so stale it was hard to cut. Not to mention the wait staff needs some class and some lessons in waitressing! The whole place looks dirty, broken cabinets, heating trays falling from the wall, it was just gross. I always try to eat local, but I think I’ve had enough of this place.

This morning, my boyfriend and I went to Longhouse for a late breakfast.(I have been to Longhouse about 50 times since moving to Gilroy 20 years ago and my boyfriend has never been there.) When we walked in, I saw the waiter(Tony) that has been awesome in the recent past, he acknowledged we were there, and I asked to be seated in his area. And so we were! He recommended the Tri-tip and eggs. We both ordered it, mine medium and my boyfriend’s medium rare. Our order came and it was so delicious! Mine was cooked about 1 minute too long and, while it had some pink, it was a tad more done for my taste. Still tender, I ate it anyways. My boyfriend was completely impressed, I have shown him the best restaurants in Gilroy, he has been very impressed, but with the impeccable service and comfortable mom and pop environment he really loved Longhouse breakfast. When tony came to box up leftovers, he noticed that I was taking half of my Tri-tip home. He asked if it was cooked okay and I told him my thoughts but in no way was I complaining. My breakfast was absolutely delish! He told me that it is absolutely their job to make sure that my food was cooked to perfection and I should’ve told him. He was great! He even mentioned that the owner feels the same way, even if I sent back a steak. That was awesome. Customer Service at its finest!

One word, horrible! They rushed us through the whole meal, it is hecka run down, my chicken Alfredo was gross, my son refused to eat and he eats anything. My plate had black marks everywhere, my husband pointed at it to the waitress and she said that they needed to get new plates. oh and it is pricey! No way I’d go there again.

Food was good, but rundown décor and owner signs to emplyees, for all customers to see, makes me not want to patronize the establishment of such self-centered owners.

Loved by all the locals — «the young, the bOLD, the beautiful and the restless». A great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The service is friendly and attentive. Décor is a little outdated but feels like home. Come give this place a try if ever in the area.

This is one of those«local» places that I imagine it’s rare for an out of towner to find on their own. The menu covers a lot of burgers and sandwiches for lunch and a great selection of omelette and breakfast items including rib eye steak and eggs, pork chop and eggs and so much more. I had the Farmers Omelette from the special board. It was awesome. Lots of farm fresh veggies and no cheese or meat. The country potatoes were equally as good. The other omelette swerved at our tables were just as good.

One of the worst mea – «restaurant experiences» I’ve ever had. Let’s get this straight. Everyone seemed to be hustling, but the quality of everything, from service to food was terrible. Me and the hubs sit down for a Friday night meal, it seems busy, but not overwhelming. Upon sitting a waitress asks us what we would like to drink. «Water and lemon for both», we reply. This never shows up. Second waitress asks us what we’d like-mind you at this point we should have just left, but«try the longhouse» my in-laws said. Never listen to your in-laws. We get a merlot and a Pacifico. These show up. But not before the waitress rudely says«are you 21? I’m going to need to check your ID. You just look too young.»(To me) to hubs who’s actually younger than me, she says«you look old enough». So great, I’ll take some judgment and un-asked for opinions with my merlot, thanks. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been carded before, I’ll be carded again. But if you want to see an ID, just ask to see the ID. I don’t need you to comment on my appearance. Moving onward… I order the seafood platter, he orders the ribs. Mine comes with a salad, his with clam chowder. The soup and salad come right out. My salad is on a warm, no HOT, plate. Like you couldn’t hold this plate on the bottom with the palm of your hand for more than 10 seconds without wanting to put it down — the perfect temperature for a salad! His clam chowder was so full of potato starch that he actually thought there might be cheese or something in it to thicken it up. He doesn’t know food very well. it wasn’t the worst clam chowder but on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 3. Onward to the entrées… I’ve never seen a worse looking entrée priced at $ 17.99! like, seriously? The garnish on my filet of sole was burned. The fried scallops it came with were rubber. It came with vegetables that my husband thought came out of a can. there was one piece of carrot that was about the size of a golf ball, two pieces of zucchini that were unevenly cut and therefore cooked unevenly, and some extremely questionable green beans. The filet of sole was in an egg batter which ended up looking and tasting like scrambled egg around fish. To be honest, the only thing on the plate that I actually ate was the baked potato. to be fair, the potato was cooked perfectly — but it’s a potato. A. Potato. Which, mind you, did not come with any sour cream. Did I mention that all of the butter that they used to coat the potatoes is sitting in a tub outside of the kitchen and open? Charming. His ribs — pork — we’re actually pretty good, though very fatty. His vegetables were the same sad fair that I had. I don’t know how you mess up french fries, but his were barely cooked and more on the side of yellow than golden brown. Since the waitress took both of our forks after removing our plates for the soup and salad, we had to sit for a good 10 minutes before we got anyone’s attention to actually give us a fork to eat with. I mean, yes it’s a little brisk, but I’ve seen plenty of places with less stuff and more people to serve not have these problems. Just look at my other reviews! We then waited another 5 minutes to get refills on our drinks. Then I started to notice some extremely suspicious activity. Regardless of how unsettling it was but they were microwaving bread chunks for their guests, I accepted it for what it was: necessity and convenience. Beyond that, the unsettling thing I noticed was bread being moved from tables, then ushered into the back part of the kitchen and finally about five minutes later, someone would come out with«new» pieces of bread and push them into what looked like a disconnected loaf and put them into a new, fresh bread bowl, and microwave that bread bowl to serve to a new set of guests. I’m not saying that they’re recycling bread. I’m just saying that they might want to stop whatever practice they’re using because that’s what it looks like. It’s rather disconcerting that some guests are being served full loaves while other guests are being served pieces of loaves put together. Either way, a terrible experience and I will never be back.

No need to order water… Just order a salad. The salad dressing couldn’t have been watered down more than it was, before calling it milk. it was the worst salad I’ve ever had, and that says a lot! We ordered the Seafood Platter, the Country Fried Steak, and the rib platter. ALL of the food was dry, and bland, ridiculously served on a iceberg lettuce leaf. The ribs were fatty, and had some type of sweet/sour flavor.(They also never served bread). The veggies on the plates were a mix of broccoli, green beans, and carrots… clearly out of the freezer section in the grocery, and over-microwaved. Mashed Potatoes were from a box– if you drown them in watered down gravy, they’re almost decent.(ALMOST) TERRIBLETERRIBLE food! Never again!

Went with my family, so we had a party of 6. Our waitress was there right away to take our drink orders, so that was good, but then she took quite a while to get back to us with our coffees and cocoas. My coffee wasn’t very hot, and it was really weak. The food actually came in pretty good time. I got the Country Flavor breakfast, which is a country sausage, biscuit with gravy, and two eggs. My eggs were a little more over-easy than over-medium, but I’m ok with that. My biscuit was fine, but the gravy was congealed and only lukewarm. My sausage patty was dry… Not thrilled with my experience, but I might be willing to give it another chance…
