Abbott’s Pro-Power

I won’t shop here or have repairs done again. very, very back logged, don’t like go elsewhere attitude and double the quoted prices AFTER fixing. way over priced and I know they have the high end equip than home Depot but absolutely no sense or reasonableness to negotiate prices to a reasonable level. I know some maintenance folks that go there but myself, not a chance again. by the way, Power Equipment down the street also is extremely arrogant as well. must went to the same school of «don’t want your business after getting screwed the first time».

Dishonest and rude! We were quoted under $ 200 dollars to get a chain saw repaired. When I called to pay over the phoned I asked if it was worth $ 200 to repair and they said definitely as it was a $ 600 saw. They didn’t want me to pay until it was finished. A week later, I called again to pay and to say we needed it the next day. The man who answered said, «you’ll be lucky», laughed and hung up. When we picked up the saw the next day the bill had risen to $ 400. Double what was quoted! They stated it needed a few more things done and since I agreed on the phone to fix it they did. That is a lie! I agreed to under $ 200. They knew we needed the saw for a job and had no choice at that point! Completely dishonest and to top it off the saw runs like crap!

Bought a riding mower last week. These guys really know thier stuff. I highly recommend them for all your power equipment needs.

Abbott’s services all of our line trimmers, chainsaws, and various mowers and utility vehicles. They are prompt and do a great job. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

* I have a Honda Harmony II mower from Home Depot that needed a tune-​up, blades sharpened and the clutch cable fixed because it did not pull forward when clutch handle was engaged. I took it in on 9÷28÷2010 around 11:00am. I talked to the short older stocky guy at the counter and told him what the problem was. We went out to my truck to get the mower, I started it up and showed him what was wrong. I asked him how long it would take to get fixed. He told me by Friday (10÷01÷10) I told him I would be in Fri to pick it up.
I didn’t get a chance to pick it up until Tues (10÷5÷10), I called and the lady who answered the phone told me she would see if it was finished, it turns out that they had not even worked on the mower, according to her. I wasn’t too happy about that so I asked her how long before it would be fixed? I then talked to one of the mechanics and he said they would have to order a clutch cable and it would be in by Thurs (10÷7÷10) and it should be done by Friday (10÷8÷10).
I then called them on Wednesday (10÷13÷10) and they told me they were still waiting for the part that was ordered! I finally told them that I needed the mower and to put it back together, I was not going to wait any longer!
I was told originally when I took the mower in that it would be done in 3 days. It was still not done after 16 days! When I got home to mow the lawn I noticed that the throttle does not stay in one position now, it keeps moving from high to low by itself!
I am willing to drive to San Jose or Hollister (I live in Morgan Hill) to have any work done on any of my power tools since I would NEVER go back to Abbott’s Pro-​Power in Gilroy again!!!
Suggestion: If you do use Abbott’s Pro-​Power, make sure they can guarantee it will be done on the day promised and get it in writing, put in some kind of penalty clause for insurance. I guarantee you will not be satisfied! Good Luck if you do!!?
