It’s OK. But the cashier was talking with a friend who was ahead of me in line and he was swearing. I don’t mind swearing but that’s super unprofessional.

This location is large, clean and bright. The aisles are well stocked and organized, and the service is fast, friendly and efficient. This location has a Starbucks.

I don’t understand the reviews stating only one check out line open. There is a sign claiming a 3 person guarantee. More than 3 people, they open another check out. Maybe this is a direct result of past reviews, but I’ve seen it in action. That being said, I go to this store because it’s right down the road from me. I use the Safeway card, in store specials, flyer coupons, and the 10% senior discount on Wednesday to save a bundle. Last trip I saved 48%. I got fuel points toward a discount at the pump also. This is not where I do most of my shopping, but I do watch the flyers and snatch up the deals here.

It’s a Safeway. Not my normal stomping grounds but found myself here looking for a birthday card and gift card for a specific retailer. I didn’t find either. But, is a grocery store really the place to buy birthday cards and gift cards? Well, maybe the gift cards. But the store was clean, the shelves were stocked so it appears to be an average Safeway. Did I get what I came for? Nope. But I’ll keep the stars in check since I wasn’t shopping for«groceries» anyway. Clean store, stocked shelves, Safeway prices 3 Stars

Totally disgusted and wish there was a way to put zero stars. We ordered a cake with writing and flowers on it when I arrive to get up, the woman in the bakerywas putting frosting onto cinnamon rolls with her hands, at this point she had gloves on. After she ignored me when I walked up to the counter, I decided to walk away and do the rest of my shopping, because I was disgusted. After gathering the rest of my items I went up to the counter again, this time she did not have gloves on and she was putting Kaiser rolls into sixpacks. She continue to ignore me so I looked at her name Tag and called her by name, «Jamie can I pick up my cake?» She rudely put down what she was doing took my cake form and went in the back to get the cake that did not have the proper topping on it, when I mention the flowers were wrong she said«well I don’t know I didn’t take the order» Gee thanks for fixing it. But I really didn’t want her touching my cake after everything I had seen so far. I go to check out she informs me that the person doing bagging will help me to my car. So a young man named Zach does, he proceeds to put a bag of bread on top of the cake box ruining the top of the cake not that it wasn’t already fucked up. $ 35 wasted and I’m totally disgusted and never want to buy anything from this bakery again.

This store needs to have more registers open! There’s always only ONE open and the line is long! Helloooo! Open up some more when there’s a line! And forget about it if someone is paying with a check… Who does that anymore?! The lady in front of me tonight did and they had to re-ring her up 3 times! I will say there is a really nice guy who works in produce — I couldn’t find sun-dried tomatoes and he brought them over to me while I was at the butcher counter and he brought over every kind they carried! Very nice guy, didn’t catch his name. However, I have to stand and wait EVERY time for someone to help me at the butcher counter. But I will say their meat is exceptional!

Ditto to what Nicole said every time I come here I ask myself why I did it again. At a grocery store you should be able to go in and out just to buy a gallon of milk or sometime like that. Not here you are guaranteed to wait in a 15min line with only 1 cashier. This place is in dyer need for more cashiers. Otherwise go to the 24h frys on baseline and power.

I live in the area, so it’s not uncommon I hit up Safeway for early morning/late night grocery runs. As a full time student and worker, those are really the only times I get to waste time shopping at the store. And I mean waste in every sense of the word. Every.single.time. I go to this particular location I remind myself I’ll never go back. Yes, I said NEVER, but living down the street and this being the closest grocery store, never really means I won’t go back this week. So I find myself returning — abusee/abuser relationship much? and my experience never changes. Anytime I’m at this location, there is only one checkout aisle open. Yes, I said that — ONE. So I quickly pick up the items I need– you know, bread, milk, water, maybe a snack or two and then I painfully wait in line for what seems like an eternity — hey once I even watched hair grow on my legs as I waited… jk– but really 20 minutes go by and I finally get to the checkout. Plug in an old phone number for my Safeway card and finalize my painstakingly long order. After writing this review I sure hope I’ll smarten up and just go to infinitely better stores(Sprouts or Fresh & Easy) down the road!

Here’s my classification of grocery stores: Whole Foods and AJ’s are in the upper echelon… the next level is Trader Joe’s and Sprouts and then on the rung below you have your traditional grocery stores like Safeway and Fry’s…and then you have the barricudas who hang on for dear life like Basha’s and Albertson’s… I like this Safeway in particular because if you go straight back into the dairy/juice section, they have a specific area for the 50% off items. They will have organic milk, orange juice and greek yogurt for 50% off. Of course it is bound to expire within the next ¾ days, but really it won’t start spoiling until 2⁄3 days after the exp date. So if you’re gonna be using a lot of milk or juice within a few days, check it out because you will save a good amount of money. And a few feet beyond the dairy, they have more discounted items like pasta, pasta sauce and picnic ware. They had this organic pasta sauce which was normally $ 8 for $ 2. And it wasn’t like this sauce was nearing expiration date or there was a crack in the bottle or a hand was inside, it was just clearance. Other than that, they had girl scouts selling cookies outside. So that was an added bonus. I figured with the money that I saved off my discounted milk that i could pay it towards to some overpriced delicious cookies. Safeway is safeway, they are all the same, but I like the clearance items here better because they are all in one spot!
