I can’t figure out why Marie B. would have rated Wild Birds as only 2 stars! Must have been a «slip»… this is one of the coolest bird supply stores around — zillions of feeders, yard décor, food for birds and squirrels, books on birds and wildlife — everything a bird/​critter lover could want. We buy all of our critter food and supplies here, driving over from Tacoma. The prices are reasonable, and they have a WONDERFUL staff that is always ready to answer questions and give advice, but only if you want it. Not pushy at all or anything like that. VERY cozy place, with a big back yard that displays hundreds of pieces of yard art, gazing balls, bird feeders, and other cool things for your yard. We drove over this afternoon to restock on bird feed and suet blocks… always worth the drive.

Wild Birds Unlimited is actually a birdfeeding supply store and nature enthusiasts’ dream come true! (Not a bird or pet store as marie b. stated!). It is located in historic and quaint downtown Gig Harbor at the very heart of the adorable shopping district. Their inventory and selection cannot be beat, the employees are incredibly knowledgeable, and their service is insanely good. I wanted to buy some binoculars for my husband and the owner, Jim was so helpful! He made it easy for me to find the perfect item in my price range. This is the kind of family owned local business I love to support! Bravo Wild Birds Unlimited! I’m happy to see there are still people who care about the environment and sell real quality products at great prices with exceptional service!!! No more buying that junk birdseed from «bad guy» retailers only to find out it was 97% filler product that ends up moldy on the ground, aka — rat bait!
On top of all that, this place does all kinds of community outreach and educational things. I’ve seen their «talks» at all kinds of fairs and community events and even at the Pt. Defiance Zoo. How awesome is that? More businesses should realize that if they would get involved people would notice and support them because of it. I look forward to taking my son to some of these events when he’s old enough. What kid doesn’t love to see a LIVE falcon or rare owl in person or go to a cool Easter egg hunt? These people rock.
I will go to this place again and again and reocmmend you do too. Thank you Jim and your staff! I look forward to shopping with you again soon.
