Dr. Lerch changed my son’s prescription without notifying me, nor did his staff. But I’m assuming thats because he didn’t put it in my son’s chart that he did so(nurse manager read me his notes over the phone)…so his staff was very confused when I called to question the change that I accidentally found out by my insurance company. The prescription he changed it to was most commonly used to treat diaper rash, when my son didn’t have diaper rash, he has eczema. I spoke with the kind pharmacist that Dr. Lerch uses, some«online pharmacy». I got more information from a pharmacist then I did from Dr. Lerch. I got some bogus answer from Dr. Lerch through his nurse manager that he changed it cause they couldn’t make his«special» concoction. Thats strange… cause Rite Aid had no problem making his«special concoction». Regardless, why was I not notified?? Is that ethical? I thought pediatrician and parents are suppose to work together, where here I feel like he is working against me. Dr. Lerch doesn’t want to hear a first mothers concerns… instead he put me in the hot seat and I needed to defend every decision I was making about my son. He said to me «Well, I’m just looking out for your son»…Um excuse me, I am his mother, SOAM I! To top things off… I’ve decided to leave this practice, drove there 3 weeks ago filled out release form to be sent to a different office, I called today since my son will be 9 months soon and need to schedule a check-up with the new doctor. Well… they can’t find my release form, they want me to drive back up and fill another one out. You have got to be kidding!!! Just wonderful. Save yourself the stress, find a doctor who actually listens to you, cause you know your child better than someone who sees him once every couple of months. Find a doctor who will genuinely care about your child and his/her health.

Im sorry that i had to write such a negative review but it had to be done. It took me a few weeks to think this over but it must be said. I brought my child in to see Dr. Amato and i have to say what poor care my child was given. This Dr. has no bed side manor and did not listen to what i had to say at all. He didnt give my child anything but a steroid which was the wrong diagnosis. Im so glad i never picked up this wrong medicine after reading the side effects of this medicine and talking with the pharmicist. Whats funny is all the dr had to do is listen to what worked and what i had to say. But in his own words«I’ll be the judge of that»… really is this the way you speek to a parent…
