Wonderful Customer service. Rooms comfortable, Cozy and Clean. Great breakfast. The staff is very knowledgeable. I had family from out of town stay at County Inn and Suites since we do not have the room in our home. They loved it, raved about the service, the rooms, all in all the whole experience.

Stayed in this hotel two weeks ago with friends. Each of us had rooms, all three rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The renovations that other reviewers note are very obviously finished, and the newly renovated space is lovely. The hotel smelled clean and almost new, likely because of recent renovations. The lobby is spacious and cozy with a fireplace and stylish furniture. The rooms were very clean, the beds were very cozy, sheets clean, carpet new and well cared for. The bathroom was meticulously kept, the towels soft and clean, the water pressure excellent. The windows even opened so we could let in some cool fresh air. The outlets are just across the parking lot — walking distance — which was so convenient and fun. This place is great, we’ll definitely be back!

Friendly staff, decent breakfast and comfortable beds. Would stay here again. Shares their parking lot with the outlets so it gives you something else to do if you’re bored.

2001 called and they want their hotel back! Seriously, other Unilocalers have reviewed this hotel and reported their disappointment at having arrived to find that the hotel was open during renovations, but that they had not been advised prior to booking of the renovations. I found that the hotel was still in the process of being renovated. The upsides are that the cost of the room was reasonable, the location was convenient, they allowed early check-in and late check out without charging extra. They also include the use of a small exercise room and indoor pool. To cap it all off, they provide a continental breakfast. The room we were in, on the third floor, showed signs of a recent painting. It was clean and the bathroom was well-stocked with small toiletries and lots of towels. Artwork had not yet been placed on the walls. At first we thought that the table lamp was broken, but discovered it had not yet been plugged into the wall outlet. The wall outlet that I plugged the cell phone charger into was loose. Although there was a small flat-screen television on the dresser, the dresser itself was dated and showed its age. In the lobby there was a sign that announced their renovations, and since I had been given a «heads up» by my fellow Unilocalers, it didn’t come as a surprise. I would hope that the final renovations will include replacement furniture in all rooms, artwork on the walls and detailing of all room furniture, fixture and equipment. In all, it was worth the money they charged for our overnight stay. I’m looking forward to a return visit in the future to see if the scope of renovations is consistent with the Carlson reputation.

Gettysburg is a place to step back in time. And so is this hotel. Only instead of the 1863 it’s 1980… tube televisions and bottle openers in the bathroom. But that’s me being a spoiled brat I suppose. The only real complaint I had was that the bed was hard as a rock. All that aside, it was a decent hotel. Nice staff, clean pool, complimentary breakfast, and you weren’t that far a drive from either the Battlefield or downtown Gettysburg. Coming back here I’d probably stay someplace else, but it served its purposes. I’d really love to give it 3 stars, but oh those beds were murder…

Oh this hotel was… well it served it’s purpose. It had the last two(suites only) rooms available in Gettysburg for the 150th Anniversary weekend(booked over a year in advance, even). OK, so I give it 2 stars instead of 1 just because it was actually available and in a decent location to avoid most of the traffic. The hotel itself though? UGH. I can’t believe it wasn’t built in 1985. It is decorated like it was… and is in as poor of shape as if it was and hasn’t been taken care of. Everywhere you look there is water damage(floors, ceilings), tiles about ready to fall off(near shower, in pool area), ceiling tiles falling out(pool area, hallways), the mirrors are in terrible shape, and the bed is absolute murder to try to sleep in. Want more? Water pressure was not very good, the A/C was difficult to keep the right temperature, the only non-feather pillows they had I think are original to Gettysburg itself(hard, smelled funny, and absolutely no support). I had hip pain for 2 days after sleeping in that bed for 3 nights(I’m not joking… and I don’t have any issues with my hips either). The staff seemed friendly enough, and they do have a free breakfast(though it’s not particularly tasty or appetizing, so we skipped it). The one nice thing? The hot tub was actually pretty nice in the pool area. I won’t stay here again if I can help it at all. I know it was Gettysburg’s 150th Anniversary of the Battle weekend, but I still can’t swallow that I paid $ 340/night for that room…
