I’ve got to say, the highlight of my trip to Gettysburg was probably seeing the Civil War songs performed at this church. The musicians dress in period costumes and play traditional music from both North and South. My only complaint was some of the stories went on too long and I wish there were more songs and less stories, but that’s my taste. They had a booklet of song lyrics they hand out and obviously change songs for different performances, and I wish I heard more that were listed! The pastor and greeter were both very friendly as we waited outside, and they served light refreshments after. Even though the event was free, I had to tip based on the quality. If you are a Civil War fan, this is definitely a quality event to attend.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. For a truly sincere and authentic(and free!) historic experience in Gettysburg, I highly recommend Candlelight. Christ Church is an easy walk from the square in Gettysburg. There is a lot of useful information(including performance schedule) at the CACC website.
