My boss took us all out to lunch on Cinco de Mayo, which was sweet of her! The place was pretty packed and it took quite some time for our food to arrive. It was a bummer that I was unable to use my Unilocal Check-in promo since there were signs posted that the restaurant would not honor any promotions for the holiday. We were seated at the bar which has like a million TV screens tuned to all kinds of stations. Super entertaining. The complimentary chips and salsa were also very much enjoyed at our table and pacified us until the food arrived. I was pleased to see that the menu was varied and they had a couple of great options for a budget friendly lunch. I ordered the beef enchilada and chicken quesadilla combo meal. It was possibly around $ 8, but definitely under $ 10. It was delicious, flavorful, fresh, and satisfying the Mexican craving one gets… Well, at least I crave Mexican on a weekly basis :) Worth a visit, especially for lunch! Beautiful and vibrant decorations and the staff was pleasant as well!

This is the old Baileys restaurant, but now painted green inside. I went within a month of the grand opening a year or so ago. There were probably 20 customers in a place that likely seats over a hundred. Service was insanely slow and the food was forgettable.

We’ve been here a few times. Service has been great. Food has missed a few times, meaning that the description does not match the food. But they are getting better. We see the effort. We are still giving them the opportunity to grow. The atmosphere is always fun and lively, especially on Fridays.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The bartenders here are horrible. Every request I asked for took 30 minutes for them to bring me it. They tried to charge me for 3 margaritas when I only had 2. And when they brought me my credit card it wasn’t even mine. Worst service ever. Never going back.

I wish there were an option for less than a one star rating. To start, after ordering two appetizers, about half an hour later only one showed up while the other was completely forgotten. The chips were stale and the salsa was never refilled which was unfortunate because that was the best tasting part of the meal. The drinks were weak and tasted of mix. The mains… One word, Salty. You need to eat the sad excuse for Spanish rice and the fresh out of the can refried beans in order battle the salty meat. You could tell that the food was bad based off the waitresses responses and facial expressions whenever she walked by our table. «Tasty?» Oh, and to apologize for the slow service of the evening, the waitress offered a free dessert which was flan that resembled the solidified fat from a refrigerated prime rib. Never Again.

I’m so glad that a Latin restaurant like this has opened up in the Germantown area. I was desperately seeking a new restaurant in the area to grab a bite to eat aside from the usual suspects. As of recently, I’ve just been utterly saddened with the lack of good food spots in the Germantown area. I heard a few individuals talk about this spot, so I figured I would give it a try. I showed up on a Sunday evening and was a little surprised that it wasn’t packed. Now that’s a great thing because that means I won’t be around a large crowd of people and I’ll be able to receive my food in a flash without much of a wait. Now the hostess(who was very polite) escorted me to my table and I was immediately impressed with all the bright pictures on the wall and on the backs of the chairs. At this point, I noticed that the appearance was very clean and creative. Señor Tequila’s has all day happy hour on Sunday. If I can remember, the strawberry, mango, and house mix margaritas are all $ 4 dollars and a small happy hour sized order of nachos are about $ 5 dollars. The frozen margaritas are pretty good. The right amount of taste and the right amount of alcohol. I ordered the house margaritas on the rocks and I’ll admit that I wasn’t impressed with the taste. I made sure to place an order in for the happy hour nachos. Now I thought I was going to get a big heaving portion of nachos like they give to you at Chevy’s during happy hour, but that wasn’t much of a concern because they were really good. The nachos come with corn tortilla chips and they top them with queso, shredded cheese, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, jalapenos, and your choice of either chicken, ground beef, or a mix of both. My guest got the steak fajitas and asked for the steak to be cooked well done. Let me tell you this. That was some of the best steak I have ever tasted from a restaurant. The right amount of seasoning and the right amount of butter definitely hit the spot. This is definitely one of those moments when you remember the taste so well, it makes you come back and get more. I decided to get the taco salad. If you haven’t ordered a taco salad before, its has lettuce, tomatoes, onion, grilled veggies, beans, cheese, and your choice of meat packed inside of a deep fried tortilla shell. It comes with chipotle ranch dressing and you eat the salad right out of the shell. It’s your option to break the tortilla shell and eat it with the salad. If you’re watching your carbs, it’s good either way because you can either not eat it or break off portions of how much you want to ingest. Now it was a little pricey and they give you a small portion, but it’s definitely worth it. Another cool thing to note about Señor Tequilas is that they have live music playing on some nights. A 4 person band will come to your table and ask you if you would like for them to play music for you. Tips are appreciated when they come and play at your table, but I thought this was very cool. They are the real deal too. The only thing I need Señor Tequila’s to do is to stay open late on Fridays and Saturdays. Lets us get in there and party. They have a little dance floor in the bar section if you want to get your dance on during the late night.

Great casual dining. It was a really nice experience. They hit all the marks; Wait staff, menu choices, food quality, fun atmosphere, comfortable seating, fast service, hands on management. This place must be doing something right, at 6:00PM Friday, the place was packed. Plenty of free parking and easy to get to.

If you are anything like me, finding a good Mexican place comes down to two basic questions: 1) How’s the queso? And 2) How are the margaritas? Answers: fantastic, and yummy. Their queso is the best I have found in this area. I always make sure to bring an order home with me. And if you are into margaritas, I encourage you to try one of their frozen treats. They are delicious, and stronger than their on-the-rocks version. It is really just a bonus that it is so close to the theater — dinner and a movie anyone?

I went here for dinner with my family, and would first like to acknowledge that the staff was great and the place has a lot of potential. The chairs are all painted with different designs and it is overall very inviting. There is a huge bar in the main dining area and then two areas to the left and right as well. I was excited when a new restaurant opened in this location because of the appeal of the bar. I wanted to give this place more stars but couldn’t because the drinks leave a lot to be desired. On happy hour, they have flavored margaritas, frozen sangria margaritas, and draft beer for $ 5. Stick to beer! The margaritas are wayy too sweet and watered down. Instead of being handcrafted, they come out of a dispenser like you would see at 7eleven. I couldn’t finish mine because it was too sweet. One time there was regular sangria on happy hour but then last visit I was told it wasn’t an option. I ordered a chocolate martini($ 9.99) for dessert. The server asked the bartender for me what was in it and is literally just Rumchata and chocolate syrup. So sure that is yummy but it should not be marketed as a martini! Where are the other liquors? I do enjoy Rumchata as a dessert drink but straining it into a martini glass does not make it one. I wish this place had better drinks because of the nice atmosphere and waitstaff. The food portions were big as well. But, I would likely not order any drink here besides beer and that puts it as less desirable than other Mexican-style restaurants in the area.

I’ve come here 3 times since it opened. The décor is great ! Especially in the dining area in the back . They provide FREE chips and SALSA ! Who doesn’t love free? I always order the chicken and shrimp fajitas and they never fail. It is so DARN good! I also found it very entertaining to see them sing Happy Birthday to a diner. The servers all wear wrestling masks and bring a Sombrero to the birthday boy or girl.

If you’re looking for a place to get good drinks with a great atmosphere, this is it! The service was great and we didn’t have to wait long for our drinks or appetizers. The food was pretty average but our friendly bartender and the wonderful feel of the restaurant totally made up for it.

I’m writing an update to confirm my 4 stars after visiting Señor Tequila last night. I know my update won’t bump up their rating but oh well. I was nervous to visit last night as my hungry husband is no fun in a situation of bad service. Luckily that was absolutely not the case last night. I called ahead for a «reservation» and was told I may still have to wait a few minutes upon our 7:30pm arrival time(Sat). We got there at 7:25 and were immediately seated. The restaurant was crowded and there were a few families waiting. Our server(forgot name) was friendly and attentive. She refilled our drinks often, gave us time to review the menu and timely brought our check. We also had a manager come by and ask us if everything was okay and refilled our chips while we waited for our food. Other staff came by to pick up our empties so overall we never felt unattended to. The food: was superb! While ¾ of us got combos which we were happy with hubs got a molcajete(the stone bowls typically used to mash/serve guac) which was awesome! It was piled high with peppers, onions, shrimp, chicken, steak, lobster, cactus and queso fresco. The thing was still boiling when it was brought out! It was also served with tortillas(choice of flour or corn), rice and beans. Everything in that boiling bowl of yumminess was full of flavor. We finished our meal with churros and fried ice cream and walked out knowing that it was worth giving this place a(nother) try regardless of the reviews. P. Colorful and vibrant ambience. The restaurant leans more towards tex– mex than Mexican. The margaritas are just okay. The Salsa is great specifically the hot one thats if you like hot stuff. Ordered the tilapia just as described. The chef played it safe which most chain restaurants do. I can only think the food is consistent. Wouldn’t mind coming back.

I like Mexican food as much as anyone. Me and the guys had a good time at Señor Tequila’s a couple of nights ago. The micheladas are the best that I have had anywhere, as they are prepared with a good Bloody Mary mix, pressed halved limes, and the traditional addition of Maggi seasoning, but the only thing that stood out about the carnitas(braised chunks of pork) was how tough, chewy, and dried out the pork was. The guacamole side was no tastier than the pork, and the refried beans were thin and never-fried. Unless you work in the neighborhood and need a place that can accommodate a crowd, you can get better Mexican food elsewhere and, better food in general a very short drive away. Friendly staff, and as I said, great micheladas, but I’d need some assurance that they’ve improved their kitchen before I’d return.

This is a nice place for a dinner out. The food is authentic(although not spicy, unless you ask), quite tasty and the ambiance is comfortable. The establishment used to be a sports bar, so the bar area is huge. The decoration is fun and friendly; I especially enjoyed the decorations on the backs of the tall chairs in the bar area. The waiters that helped us were nice and friendly, and most of them spoke proper Spanish. The music was good to dance, but not so loud that you couldn’t maintain a conversation with your dinner companions. The food we ordered was tasty, plentiful, colourful and well-textured. We had to wait for our main courses a bit longer than at other restaurants, and they were a little cold when they finally made it to our table, but the taste and presentation made up for the wait and the lower temperature. The Queso de Cabra Flambé appetizer was enough to earn this place the four stars I’m giving it in this review. The cheese was perfectly creamy and savoury, and the sauce and liquor combination gave it a delicious kick! I enjoyed it thoroughly. If you’re in the Germantown area looking for a casual, Mexican dinner, come to Señor Tequila’s. You’ll have a nice time.

3.5 stars. It was a long day, it was getting late, and me and the boyfriend wanted something quick and a little different, but not fast food. We checked this place out and ended up really enjoying ourselves. They had a late night happy hour with $ 5 quesadillas, nachos, margaritas and beer. The house margaritas were really good. The frozen ones tasted like a fruit smoothie though… I sent mine back and got a Dos Equis instead. The quesadillas were snack sized(2 pieces) but priced just right. I wouldn’t pay more than 5 bucks for them and we got what we paid for. The nachos weren’t fancy, but they did hit the spot. I was also glad that they didn’t charge extra for guacamole, like some other places do. The bartender was really nice and super friendly. I know it can be a little frustrating when someone comes in 30 minutes before closing time wanting to order a bunch of stuff, but she was super patient and very friendly.

This place was awesome! At first glance on the outside I was not expecting what I found on the inside, the bar area is huge and the dining area is beautiful. Our server was super attentive and friendly and the food was amazing, we had the filet mignon and the quesadilla. For Dessert try the fried ice cream! The best part had to be the mariachis who sounded fantastic! I believe they said they are there on Mondays. The owner personally came by to check how our meal was, which was a very nice gesture. Will return

The first visit was very promising for a chain Mexican restaurant. The quality of the food was very good. They have several unique menu items in addition to the standard Mexican fair you’d expect of fajitas, chimichangas, tacos, burritos, etc. The menu is huge, actually. I tried one of their Molcajetes which is a huge stone bowl filled with sizzling meat, vegetables and some soft melted white cheese. I have to say it was excellent. I got the first one on the menu which has steak, chicken and chorizo. The chorizo made the dish for me as you get a bit of that crumbled spicy mexican sausage in every bite. It’s enough for one large appetite or two people could share it if you had appetizers. It really depends if you just eat it out of the bowl, as I did, or you roll it up in tortillas, which come with it. I’d be hard pressed to not get one of these again. The pork carnitas entrée came with large tender chunks of slow cooked pork, served with rice, beans, and fajita fixins. The kids meals were very generous portions. Adult meals were between $ 15-$ 25(I’m sure there are cheaper options) and kids meals were about $ 6. The drink special when I was there was a pineapple margarita on the rocks with sugar on the rim. It was served in a large glass and it was excellent but weak. Good flavor without being too sweat or too sour. Some bars rely too heavily on the mix. The only downside is I had two and didn’t taste the tequila(or feel it) in either of them. So, while a very good drink, it wasn’t that strong. If you like it spicy, there is hot sauce on the table. You can also ask for the spicy salsa which was excellent. It came in a small ramiken and looked liked crushed up multi-color peppers(see picture) and had a really nice flavor You get free chips and salsa when you sit down. Chips were the normal crispy salted chips. Salsa was very good. Had a nice tomato flavor without being too watery. The place is huge. They took out the pool tables and you have three very large seating areas. It’ll be interesting to see how they keep up with service when the place is packed. There is also a small outdoor eating area on the front porch and the nice long bar which has always been there. I have to say I had stopped going to Baileys long ago. The food didn’t give me reason to return and the bar crowd was pretty trashy. We’ll see how Señor Tequila’s does, but so far it seems like a nice addition to Germantown. Service was very prompt and friendly. A little bit uninformed on some things, but this is still a new place and they are figuring things out. Will try it again and update the review accordingly after having some other menu items. I’d give it a try, though. It’s something different than Guapos and I think a little better. Hope you like Mexican Wrestling!
