He’s the dandy highwayman… I do understand that these places and places like them charge more than other services such as USPS, UPS, and FED X do even though you are ostensibly shipping with one of them anyway. It is the cost of convenience. I do take umbrage at the fact that I personally witnessed an employee offer various shipping methods and quotes to a customer but never revealed that a cheaper option existed.(The customer wished to ship as cheap as possibly… I had a view of the computer screen that the customer did not, and the employee failed to mention not one but two cheaper options.) I of course was treated to looks of derision from the employee when I spoke up. I received a heartfelt thank you from the customer for saving her a cool $ 14. Today as a necessity I had to ship a cd to a friend. Because it was to a PO box it had to be delivered by USPS Express… cost at the post office $ 18…cost at Parcel Plus $ 29…cost to send a certified letter at post office $ 3.25…cost at Parcel Plus $ 5.53. Exorbitant charges notwithstanding, you also get the added pleasure of dealing with the owner who, on a good day, is the poster child for the Society of Self Important Surly People. Nixon had a list… I too have a list of places in which I will never set foot again. Parcel Plus just moved up to number two behind Wal Mart. Since I have not set foot into a Wal Mart since October 14, 1996, what are the odds that I’m not going back here? Bet the farm!!!
