We come here all the time and are never disappointed. The Phở is delicious, and their Thai fried rice is perfectly made. All of their appetizers are great, and best of all, you can get great quality food at very reasonable prices. We’ll go back again and again.

Disappointing. Unfortunately, I received my curry vegetables and they were soggy and brown. The snow peas and green beans were mushy and the broccoli was yellow. I understand the vegetables are in a curry sauce, but I have ordered the same dish before and the veggies were fresh. When I called, the manager told me that I was wrong and that the vegetables were very fresh. She’s telling me this while I’m looking down at a bowl of mushy brown snow peas and green beans. I tried to explain that I have had fresh vegetables from Mr. K’s before, but this time everything was mush. She just kept arguing with me over and over again and ultimately did nothing. She did not refund my money or offer to bring me a new curry. She said that I could come in and bring it to her, even though it was delivered. Ridiculous. I will never order from there again because they were rude and I don’t want to support a business that treats customers that way.

This review is only for their lunch delivery since I’ve never been to the restaurant. Mr K’s lunch special is pretty solid– you get choice of soup, egg roll, and fried rice along with your entrée for around $ 7 — $ 8. The food is pretty good, never had a bad experience. I usually get their Thai basil Chicken while my husband gets the General Tso chicken and they are both equally great. Delivery time is usually about an hour which isn’t the best, but for the price and the quality of food I’m not complaining!

Great Food! Love the new Delivery Order Taker Danny! He’s very friendly. I’ve been in this neighborhood for five years and my family loves this place! Took my friends here that were visiting from NYC and they enjoyed it. They loved the bubble tea selections! Best entrée on the menu for delivery is Drunken Noodle with any protein!!! Panang Curry is good too. My teens love it! The Phở is excellent but I’ve only ordered it while dining in.

Ordered the Crispy Chicken Szechuan Style. After my first bite I had to double check to see if this was a vegetarian place because the«chicken» texture was that of tofu. It was light and airy(like you’re eating a chicken flavored marshmallow). Don’t know if diced chicken is suppose to taste like that. On top of that it was unbearably salty. Besides the record breaking amount of sodium used and the tofu chicken, the flavor of everything else was good.

The food is not that great. We ordered Singapore noodles and it was very salty. The bubble tea is so so taste and it is very expensive for only half scoop of bubble in it(tapioca pearl). We will not come back, very disappointed.

Mr. K’s has great bubble tea! The food is above average but can be a little overpriced depending on what you order. My recommendations? Order from their Thai menu! Spicy shrimp… Mmm

Read previous reviews and decided to give it a try(based on food and bubble tea). Service was quick(for takeout), but the food was below average, along with the bubble tea. Got the Triple Delight(which was too salty), and both Shrimp Wonton Soup and Seafood Noodle Soup were little too be desired. What I didn’t like about the place was that the wife/mother in charge«cheated» us on the pricing. She claims the online pricing and the menu pricing were different(after charging us an extra ~$ 9 in total bill). But even after I argued with her on the phone after I got home realizing I way overpaid for the subpar food, she never apologized for the misunderstanding and tried to explain the pricing. I re-added up all the dishes, and it still didn’t add up. Another Unilocaler had experienced something similar(see older posting), so I didn’t appreciate the dishonesty in trying to «get» a few more bucks. In all, if they can be dishonest about the price, why would you trust the restaurant on the quality of the food? The shrimp indeed wasn’t great, and neither was the quality of the beef. So of course I second thought the quality after the billing experience. Needless to say, I certainly will not be trying it again based on the integrity and quality of the food.

Food isn’t horrible but i got a thai chicken curry and it was too salty. It was like they dumped salt in there… no joke I could taste the granules. Very average chinese/thai food usual of a takeout place. Bubble tea was better(taro) very sweet though.

We tried out Mr. K’s last night — Just moved to Germantown and decided we would check Unilocal for the best reviewed place. Our order consisted of: Crabmeat wonton Steamed Pork Dumplings Entrée: E1: General Tso’s Chicken White Rice We had the order delivered — which it arrived in approx 45 minutes. The food was mediocre for our taste. Both my husband and I are huge chinese food junkies and we truly believe the food at Mr. K’s was a 3 our of 5 star. The flavor just wasn’t there — yes, I will say that everything was hot and well prepared … It just wasn’t the best we’ve had. There are definitely better options out there for flavor and taste. The crabmeat wontons were eh — not enough filling for our liking. Steamed Pork Dumplings — yum. can’t really mess those up. General Tso’s Chicken — Small pieces of chicken, did the job but would have liked a little more flavor. White rice — Again, can’t mess this up.

Family owned business been going here for years. Good selection of Chinese and Thai food. The prices are decent and the food is fresh. They offer delivery within a certain distance it usually takes an hour or more(not the best). Also, they offer bubble tea which is okay but I have had better. They recently added Phở… Its okay not that great. They have a lot of options to choose from which is why I’m giving them four stars instead of three.

Best carry out place in town. Can’t beat the portions! We love the Thai curry, called«spicy», it comes with cashews and picketed mangoes. Also to try is their vegetarian chicken, try the general TSO. We order two curries for 6 people!!!

Terrible service decent food though, delivery takes 2 hours and 30 mins which is REEDIIICK!!. Then to top it off the guy is always some rude no speaking english shitface who thinks he can step in your house while you go get a pen to sign your receipt. If I ever seen this delivery guy again I will be breaking his face. That is all…

I came here for lunch twice and was not impressed. Maybe because i came at lunch time, and the restaurant was literally empty, it still took them 10 mins to acknowledge me and take my order. The first time I had the lunch combo sesame chicken w/fried rice. The portion was a bit small and the food was mediocre. Second time I ordered hot and sour soup, something I know they have in stock in the back yet I still had to wait 15 mins to get it. The soup was overly salted and made me feel like im drinking salt rather than eating soup.

Bad Service: I went on a Saturday morning around noon for takeout. They had abbreviated paper menus at the counter which were the lunch menu. When I ordered, I pointed to the lunch special and said I wanted the panang lunch special and some bubble tea. The cashier said okay and then rang up my total as $ 20+. I told her that couldn’t be right as the lunch special is clearly listed as around $ 10 – 15. She said they don’t do the lunch special on weekends(which was NOT indicated on the menu). I said I wanted to revise my order then and she said I couldn’t because she already sent my order to the kitchen(right behind her). I was upset, which she could see, but I went ahead and paid anyways. Food Quality: The portions were definitely large. The panang curry was a huge disappointment with barely any peanut or coconut milk flavor! The bubble tea had really hard tapioca pearls. Mr. K’s will not see me again.

I come here all the time, their bubble tea is the best you can find in this area, I recommend their Pad Thai, dumplings & curry. Never disappointed!

Definitely worth returning for their Vietnamese spring rolls. Strongly recommended by the seasoned female staff member when we asked which spring rolls to order. Greasy, flavorful, and packed tight just right — we ordered 2 plates(3 per order). I love the teapot –yes that matters to me– jasmine was the hot tea for this gathering. The teapot, Vietnamese spring rolls, and casual cordial service were memorable. We pondered if they had an off day w/their phở. ‘Twas warm not hot — all 3 of our phở bowls. Any phở slurper knows the importance of a hot bowl. So nothing was fused properly and no phlegm loosened. No sniffles. No stretched out pixie pants. I felt confused. I didn’t finish mah phở. I know. The horror. But thanks be to the Vietnamese spring rolls. We will give it another try during winter(still autumn, folks).
