My husband is sooo mad!!! We have been eating here for years(like over a decade) We waited forever for our $ 38 steaks and then his was totally over cooked and cold. The waitress was sooo slow to get our bill, offered no apologies, and my husband is vowing to never come here again. For that price you expect excellent service and primo steaks cooked like you want it. Sorry wanted to let you guys know. I love this place. I want to come back! But he’s totally written it off!!!

I am very underwhelmed with this place. I haven’t been in years but I was nearby at the oriental rug house. The biggest and most immediate disappointment was the steak. They have awards for«best steaks in Memphis,» so I thought I would try the 22 ounce ribeye. It had no flavor at all, and no seasoning. The top of the steak was gray as though it were seared, and nothing more. I had to cover it with salt and pepper to taste anything. My server was super nice, and I tipped her 20% like expected. If you’re going to promote top-quality steaks, I suggest living up to that reputation. I was not happy about that, but I did not complain. I think oysters on the half shell would be a better choice in this place, but I was sold on the steak because of their awards.

We dined at Mister B’s restaurant last night, and I cannot brag enough on the staff and owner. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. My husband, a friend, and myself all had the pork chop. It was nothing like I have ever had before! It was incredible. It was cooked into a gravy sauce and was actually more like a roast, but it was full of flavor! We will definitely be back!

In my heart, I question whether or not this place is worthy of 4 stars, even though I wish I could give it 5. I’ve been dining here for years, but tonight was the first time I’ve been in a while. I’m not sure why, but I’ve always had sort of a love affair with Mr B’s. I just don’t necessarily love it for the food. Don’t get me wrong, the food isn’t bad. In fact, it’s quite good. I’ve had the pork chop on a few visits, as well as various other menu items, and have always been very pleased. The steak I got last night was good, but no better than it would have been if it had come off my backyard bbq grill. The sweet potato was a little too mushy. The salad(yes, I actually chewed on a little rabbit food) deserves a mention simply for the devine homemade blue cheese vinaigrette dressing. My husband had the redfish almandine, which I feel guilty for even critiquing because when I eat red fish, it’s typically in the Mobile or NOLA areas and it’s fresh off the boat. Still, it was a breaded piece of fish with almond slices sprinkled on top, rather than breaded in an almond crust with a nice cream sauce. It was good, but simply not impressive. He said his rice and hush puppies were quite tasty. The crawfish tails we started out with were just average. Nothing sets the food here apart from run of the mill chain restaurants. The food alone just isn’t worth the price. Fortunately, combined with the ambiance, it’s worth it. The saving grace of this place is definitely the exceptional service and the atmosphere! Our waitress, Camille, was super sweet, friendly, and attentive, as was every waitress I’ve ever had there. The décor is very warm and inviting. If our home bar wasn’t open to the den and kitchen, it would be decorated like this. It has a Gulf Coast Country Club feel to It. The dim lighting, brick walls with dark wood wainscoting, and deep green paint makes the place feel so comfortable you don’t want to leave. It’s almost so captivating that you miss the cheap vinyl tablecloths, but certainly not the fish, turtles, alligator and lamp fixtures adorning the walls. They also have an old jukebox that plays classics by Elvis, Louis Armstrong, and other music that fits perfect with the atmosphere. These are the things that keep pulling me back here. The bar area is quite alluring as well. It has the same feel to it, but is somewhat secluded from the tables, and boasts a large variety of liquor, and of course, a tv. I think rather than dropping $ 110 on a slightly better than average meal, from now on we’ll go sit at the bar and enjoy appetizers and maybe a steak poboy or a bowl of crawfish étouffée and drinks. Better yet, they have 50 cent oysters on the half shell every Monday and Wednesday. We can get better food in Memphis for the price, but Mr B’s is just… I don’t know… just kind of special. It’s our old flame.

We eat here regularly. Plate lunch is well done, traditional meat, 2 sides, rolls or corn bread. Reasonably priced and tasty. Sandwiches are good. Many folks go for steak and seafood. Large portions prepared for you.

This was a pleasant surprise. I didn’t even know this place was here as it is in the same strip mall as Carrabba’s but around the back. It can’t be seen from the street. The specials for lunch looked great and the chopped steak was huge(looked like a pound of meat). All Specials come with two sides. The grilled chicken po’boy was very good. I’ll try it for dinner soon.
